Installing 200w PORTABLE SOLAR! Off Grid Lightweight DIY Overland Trailer! Part 5

Today's video we are installing a lightweight portable 200w solar kit from Newpowa. These portable kits are nice as you can move the solar panel around to get the best angle or it allows you to park in the shade and put your panel in the sun.
We'll go over the complete install and test it out.
This lightweight camping trailer build will be towed by my 1960 VW Beetle that is a cross between a volksrod and a baja, named the Sickxty. Full build series can be found in my KZbin playlist.

When I set up my solar on my teardrop I was intimidated. Watched a few videos, and turned out simple, kinda common sense! My two 100 watt panels with my 2 100ah lithium batteries will run my 12v dc fridge indefinitely! Solar is kind of fascinating and fun!

It can be intimidating but it really is quite simple. The controller does all the hard work for us. As long as we have a little bit of Sun we should be good to go 🤙

We like camping, and used to go when we lived in Colorado. Wish I could, the trailer is too low to do that. I wanted to do a flip down table on the one side but I added the second access door instead.

@@VWJawbreaker ok, here’s what you do. Pick a spot and attach some metal “molle” grids to the side. Then, attach some “hooks” to your camp stove and a small cutting board. Instant kitchen, sorta, kinda, maybe. 😁

Hey Gary ! I got some old 1962 jukebox 15" speakers with 7" rectangle horns . I use to use them on a car radio about 8 watts and they push and at 20 watts you could hear them across the lake ? That's what you need because with a newer radio it wouldn't drain the 12v down .Nice solar unit . fix it with jump cables to charge Sickxties battery.
