I really enjoy you installations and mods. As I was viewing this post my first thought was the hose coming thru the floor. I would have installed a fitting with a hose on both sides of the floor. I know the rubber grommet is good for some applications but I believe that because we're dealing with a flammable substance that we should go to the higher level of protection. This would protect the hose from becoming the week spot because of the floor grommet wearing out. Again I love you posts it's just something I would have done.

@gonagain Yes, good description. Thing is, health wise, lighting a gas or propane burner in a house vs small shed or trailer is very different. Understand window should be left open. Just curious about how much of the after burn goes up and out. Thanks

I found a heat powered wood stove fan. This fan sets on the top of the stove or clamps to the exhaust pipe of the heater. It should work on propane and wood because it only works from the heat of the stove. It circulates the heat from the stove over the trailer like an electric fan. The price runs around $13-$60 what ever fan you by.

Yes, it stays perfectly dry inside. We do like these cargo trailers, mainly because they are of all welded construction so that they don't come apart on rough roads.

Hello. So, what is the conclusion about the vent on the outside wall on Nikki's trailer. What does she think? Does that vent work well or does it let too much wind and/or water in? Thank you.
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Hello Francois. It's been working very well and keeps the trailer pressurized and no dust inside. So far it hasn't let in any water while driving in the rain, but she keeps a roll of Gorilla tape handy, just in case she should encounter a snowstorm. Snow will make the 180 degree turn into the trailer, while rain won't (being too heavy). Scientifically speaking, it's called an "Inertial Separator".

How do you find these compared to the Dickinson p9000? Looks like these aren't sealed maybe not as safe??? I like the price on these compared to the Dickinson though.
@gonagain Жыл бұрын
Hello Chris, good question. With the flue its as safe as a wood burner as far as fumes are concerned and RVs are mostly outfitted with non vented propane stoves anyway because propane flame is considered safe as long as it's burning correctly. The main safety concern is that you have a window or vent slightly open to let in fresh air for the stoves combustion.

Hello Darrell, the answer is yes, and the only reason we went ahead and installed a damper is that we aren't sure how well the silicone seal is going to hold up in that close-off valve. Hey Rick, love your videos. I have a 6x12x7 I'm starting to build and I'm curious if I should go with the 12k or 16k. I live in a cold climate 6 months a year and want something to keep us warm throughout the night. What do you recommend? Also with your stove about how long of run time do you get from a 30lb propane bottle?
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Hello Brad, sorry that I missed your question last week. I would go with the 16K, which is what my daughter uses in her 7X14. If I were to turn my stove up to max it would run for 36 hours on a 20lb bottle, but I have never ever had it up beyond medium and then only until the trailer warms up when I turn it back down.Using the stove for a couple of hours in the morning and again in the evening we get a couple of weeks between fills.

I also struggled greatly trying to find the correct information and parts for the installation in my cargo conversion. I finally found a video where the builder also did a side vent. He used a vent designed for a pellet stove made by Duravent. Outside vent is called Pelletvent 3PVL HSR attached to a 90degree elbow called Pelletvent 3PVL-E90 also 3” thimble designed to pass the elbow through the wall. Below the elbow it was recommended to me by Nu-way to use single wall which fits well with the pellet system which is double wall. I’ve also heard your inside pipe should be at 5 ft long so that the system will draft correctly. Haven’t got to test my system yet as I’m still building my trailer but hopefully soon.
