The “Brother Truck Parts” video indicate the fronts lower control arm that has the rebound bumper bracket can rub when lowered to a given height and cut it off. You may check if yours are rubbing or show witness marks. I found your remarks about the ride quality interesting, as you expressed a desire to install coil springs are it does not ride better or smoother. I commented below as it remains a fight between “Sprung & Un-Sprung” weight remains that same. You can’t fool physics. Retired ASE Master Tech.

Are you running drop spindles or stock? I'm wanting my aired out position to end up lower than yours
@deankay44343 жыл бұрын
Drop spindles would determine the lowest possible “Down” position you could get. If the fronts raise 6” inches as said near end of the video, but lowered, a measurement of the bottom center of front fender (Say 26”) then minus the spindle drop of 3”, that = 23” total drop with the bags deflated. Only he can measure this and tell you since he created visual evidence of a 67-72 with these bags on deflated. The top mount is determined by the crossmember as bolted to the frame. Hope this helps. I too, wish he had a tape measure with level for a closely accurate measure fully down & fully up, include max air pressure recommended by “Airmaxxx” bag company. Give that company customer service a call, since the guy in the video busted watched, not measured and has not responded to your comment posted questions! Hope this helps. ASE Master - Retired

If you dont mind answering where did you get that single piece tie rod adjustment with the nuts on the ends? Thanks
@deankay44343 жыл бұрын
I have seen this same tie rod adjuster bar w/jam nuts used in others videos. If aluminum which I think is is, use anti-size on tie rod threads to reduce galling or galvanic action due to dissimilar metals. It helps in a future adjustment as you don’t want an alignment tech taking your name in vain with other choice four letter words! Hope this helps! Check out; QA1, POL, CCP, Summit and others. Most are 11/16” - 18 TPI (Threads per Inch), this fits hundreds if not thousands of GM’s & others. Best of luck, hope this helps! ASE Master - Retired

@deankay44343 жыл бұрын
They say, adjusting the rear track-bar or pan-hard bar on vehicles with modified riding heights, always start with standard height you like to run with. Then change or re-position your bar straight across level at this point. It works best for your likings. Hope this helps. ASE Master - Retired

How does your wheel alignment keep from wearing out tires with all the different ride heights? I am thinking about bagging my 1968 Chevy C10
@thesouthernc10924 жыл бұрын
from my understanding you would get it aligned at the height you would drive, but if you lowered it and drove it could affect the wear of your tires.

@thesouthernc10925 жыл бұрын
Ben Mitchell I gained some height after the bags were installed. I had a drop on my truck and the bags make it sit higher then the drop was when it is fully aired up.
@Pachuco4 жыл бұрын
@@thesouthernc1092 I was wondering the same, is there a way to make it sit lower when air out?
@deankay44343 жыл бұрын
When any air bag has the air released, the bag collapses onto itself. I would guess most air bag manufacturers can give this height measurement thru customer service. The lowered height depends on a number of factors as for position on stock rear control arms where the springs mount, aftermarket control arms, modified frame and the bags upper mount position, all as up to desire height when emptied. Hope this helps! ASE Master - Retired

@thesouthernc10925 жыл бұрын
NorthTexasJavi honestly I’m thinking about going back to the springs. It doesn’t ride that much different. It’s rides smooth on flat ground but in Louisiana we have crap roads so it’s either too soft or too hard. No real in between.

The Southern C10 I see that’s unfortunate, I’m really considering bagging my Cadillac but I also don’t want to get rid of that comfy Cadillac ride , thanks anyway
@deankay44343 жыл бұрын
Well, that is an interesting observation and statement. But I suppose you can change physics. You have say 750 pounds on each front corner. If inflated to stock height or even lower, these bags are 2 ply stiff on the sides so they will not expand that direction as you hit bumps or fall into a hole. They can only compensate by changing internal pressure. It is odd I have researched the air bag C10 world and no one has asked this question before. Each bag is supporting “Unsprung Weight” meaning the tire, wheel, rotor, caliper, spindle & the steering knuckle it’s pressed into, lower & upper control arm and the shock are below and unsprung weight. While the fame, engine choice,,A/C or not but the body & fluids and those who sit in it represents the “Sprung Weight”. This load equalizes at any height. Makes sense to me as only the ride height would change as the load remains the same regardless. ASE Master Retired.

can i mount bags on my 69 with out replaceing a-arms spindles etc ? all factory
@thesouthernc10925 жыл бұрын
Socialdisfuction you can mount bags without lowering spindles. You won’t have as much drop tho, so if your looking to just have a good ride then that’s the way to go. If you are looking to get lower then get some spindles.
