Very nicely done electrical video. You are very knowledgeable of the system. It is always a pleasure seeing someone doing it right! Some comments. When I did my shed, I put all the receptacles at 48” so I can put counter tops anywhere and not block them with objects sitting on the floor. I use a #2 square Robertson bit on most electrical termination screws. For future reference, long bends in pvc conduit, opposed to factory bends, causes way higher pulling friction. Conductors on conduit sidewall while pulling for many feet instead of a couple feet with a fitting. NM cable must be protected from physical damage below 8’, so conduit or wall covering. Hopefully you are not 6’3” tall. Maximum height to center of breakers is 6’7”. Please show in your next video, installing #6 bare out to and connected to two ground rods from the ground bar. Again, very good video!

Hey Jesse thanks for all of your videos, you are certainly one of the best on KZbin........I don't usually comment, but, having been on solar at our place for 22 years (and I have been a working licensed home builder for 40+ years) I want to recommend putting solar panels on racks outside instead of panels on the roof. At your young age you are probably going to outlast your shops roof and having to deal with solar panels when re roofing......or if you have any leak at the roof and you have the panel support system it could get complicated even if you do own your own lifts!! Just a thought, keep up the great work! Thanks!

Plug in lights make sense on several levels. They are all made in China now and many come that way, they often do not last long so replacement is much easier than hard wired. Moving them is much simpler if you find in future that you would prefer them in a different place. I would leave ample room on the circuit in case you wish to step up to brighter lights or more after working under this set up. As you get older you will find more and brighter light is helpful. The shop will really be appreciated come winter!

Had to replace the main board in the compressor unit outside because a family of roaches took up residence on the circuit board and fried it. But found a new board online and replaced it no problem.

As I am watching your set up, the only shortfall so far I see is 20 amp for compressor. Maybe rethink that one. A 220 volt would use less energy than 110. And be a stronger unit. And go 220 for hot water heater. Same idea as compressor. Just a thought. Retired GC from California.

I'll assume and make a _ass_ out of _me_ and _me_ and say that you'll put a ceiling on the rafters which will provide even more illumination via the reflection from the ceiling. It will make the already impressive lighting even greater. You have a nice logical setup there Jesse; very impressive!! One thing that needs to be done and I mention this for my old friend Justin Case on the off chance you haven't considered it and that is you absolutely need to document the setup and how it all works. Going to make is so much easier if you become incapacitated and are unable to repair it if something breaks. Once you have this incredible setup completed your electric bills are going to be far call. I am so envious of this setup and wish I was able to do just some of what you have accomplished and are planning to implement. In the inverters I worked with, the DC was changed to a square wave which was then changed to a sinewave. There is a lot of loss in this depending on the quality of the 'Tank Circuit', a combination of a coil and a capacitor. This was over 40 years ago, but electronics doesn't change much on a macro system. Microelectronics has changed so much you can't even see it anymore.
