Please can you tell me how to measure how much water your gravy gives out after the pressure release to see how much water you need to add??? Thank you
@thasneen3 жыл бұрын
To be precise, please measure the gravy in a measuring cup and add additional water to make into 3 1/4 cups. In this recipe, I've added 3 cups white basmati rice, for that 3 1/4 cups liquid is required. Hope this helps.

@@thasneen So i am confused should i pour the liquid into a measuring cup then pour it back into the instant pot?
@thasneen3 жыл бұрын
That's right, you are measuring the liquid to be precise and then adding back to the stainless steel pot. After that add the rice & pressure cook for 6 minutes.

Have you tried just doing one pressure cook of 20 minutes with the rice on top? Or would that overcook the rice?
@thasneen3 жыл бұрын
White Basmati Rice will be cooked well in just 6 minutes, that's the reason I've cooked the rice separately and along with the beef/beef broth will taste flavourful. Brown basmati rice can be used, requires 20 minutes of pressure cooking.

@@thasneen I just found ur channel, I was looking for ground beef rice, I use basmati and jasmine rice.. I always rinse my rice till it clean, I didn’t realize u let it sit for 15 mins do u still rinse it till clear?? My grandpa is Filipino and he rinses it till it clear.. 😊.. I love learning new ways.. what best way to jasmine rice cooking ? I never knew there brown basmatis rice.. is it better for you? I’m gonna look around ur channel see what other good stuff.. thanks for the video… 💛 forgot to ask I see u talk about using beef broth but if u don’t have it handy can u sub for chicken broth? I love using coconut oil but how do u keep it soft? If refrigerate it solid hard to get out and if leave out it melts watery any suggestions? Thanks again….
@thasneen2 жыл бұрын
After soaking the rice, I do rinse till clear :) Jasmine rice, pressure cook for 6 minutes in the Instant Pot- same cooking time as white basmati rice. Brown basmati rice is much healthier & filling just like the regular brown rice. However, brown rice cooking time is much longer, 25 minutes high pressure cooking in the IP. In this recipe, after cooking the beef there will be some liquid left in the pot after pressure cooking- I'm referring to that liquid as beef broth. Don't have to add additional beef or chicken broth. I added 1/2 cup more water, for cooking 3 cups rice 3 1/4 cups liquid is required. I always keep the coconut oil in the pantry & yes it solidifies. I add the solid coconut oil to the pan, after it has melted add all other ingredients to saute. Hope this helps, I have many Instant Pot recipes, do browse my channel :)

What if using sela rice
@thasneen4 жыл бұрын
I haven't used sela rice so not sure the cooking time for that. For this recipe, I've used basmati rice and it will be cooked in 6 minutes in the Instant pot. If the cooking time for sela rice is longer, increase the time accordingly.
