How many minutes to pressure cook the channa?

25 minutes at high pressure for soft chana. 20 minutes chana will be firm.

The very name "Instant Pot" signifies cooking quickly and with ease. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting you down, you definitely are talented. However, I felt you just made the whole process very laborious and time consuming by adding too many unnecessary steps. If you pre soak the garbanzo, or even if you are using canned ones, all you need is to saute the whole spices in the oil, add onions and ginger garlic paste, saute until onions are slightly golden, thereafter add tomato puree or chopped tomatoes, all spices, saute the mix until oil separates, add garbanzo, and sufficient water and pressure cook it for 15 minutes in your instant pot. No need to pressure cook the garbanzo separately, and no need to grind the onion into a puree, This also eliminates a lot of extra work like re rinsing the instant pot for multiple uses within one recipe I would like to emphasize on the point that for any curry to be appropriately flavorful, the most important step is to cook the onions, ginger garlic, tomatoes, and spices well enough until its raw smell and flavor is gone (especially onions even if you are pureeing it).
