Eating Mangoes can become an addiction esp if they are made into a chutney. Chunda is a Gujarati mango pickle. The classic mango chunda is classified as a pickle and not a chutney as grated raw mangoes are not cooked but kept in the sun to mature.
Over the years we have started to cook raw mangoes for instant gratification so here is my Instant Mango chutney or call Instant Gujarati Chunda.

Ingredients:
Raw Mango (grated) - 350gms or 2cups
Sugar - 350gms Or 1¾ Cups
Salt - to taste
Black Salt - ½ tsp
Chilli powder - ½tsp
Roasted Cumin - 2tsp
Water - ¾ cup

Mango chutney. Actual chutney. Cook raw mangoes in pressure cooker. Take out the pulp. Add salt, sugar, red chilli powder, and plain jeera powder and cook in a pan until it becomes a little thick. It is a great accompaniment with parathas, thalpeeth, theplaas, chapaatis, etc.

Instead of adding sugar in the beginning add it later. Mix all ingredients except sugar. Salt is enough for raw mango to cook. Then you can add sugar and cook. This will eliminate the need to add water. Just shared my experience.

@@r.studio6170 Chutney and Chhunda are two different things. For chutney I cook raw mangoes in pressure cooker. Then separate the pulp and skin. Add salt, red chilli powder, jeera powder and sugar to the pulp and cook till thick. This can be stored in the refrigerator for almost a year. Tastes yummy.

Best mango ka meetha acchar my childhood favourite , you don't need any sabzi to eat just garma garam ajwain ki puriyan aur aam ka meetha achaar. Simply Best Comfort Food. 😍😍😋😋 🍋🍋🍋🍋

Chunda is typical gugrati Achar...a sweet pickle .... every whomen made it in her own style ..nd it is very testy...we gujratis eat it with the thepla.....very tempting ♥️

Wonderful cheff...u hv made this with so much ease n instantly...I do remember ur visit to the houses of Gujrat where u hv learnt the traditional way of making "cchunda" n other raw mango pickles in various forms combined with white ccholle too...I hv seen that episode where the lady is showing all the hustle bustle of keeping the "cchundaa" on terrace covered with white cloth....this recepie is amazingly delicious...waoooo 👍👌🏆

had this pickle today with black bean burgers (plus tomato, avocado, rocket). you might think a Gujarati pickle would not work well with a black-bean burger with a bit of a southwest USA flavor profile, but in fact it is quite good. This is a homemade version of the pickle made by my wife's mother. BTW, such burgers also go well with cilantro-onion chutney. I guess this kind of makes sense in that jeera is the main spice in the burgers and hence desi-friendly.

Panchforam masala bhi add kar sakte hai. Good for digestive system. I also cook mango panna, chutney, launji, murabba, pickle.

My dadi nani use laung and dalchini in it. Gives special aroma and taste. Also helps it to last longer.
