Great update mate, for the driveway it is a good idea to contour the middle like they do on the roads so the water doesn't erode like it did on your driveway.

Wow sorry to hear about all the issues you've had with the excess rain, the opposite problem to what I'm dealing with at the moment in Western Victoria (no rain for over a month now). Glad you're feeling better mate, and how interesting with the zoysia plugs almost bringing the substrate with it upwards, great to see it filling in too. Always great content mate.

Ouch! That's so terrible that you were washed out like that. I was wondering where you had been. Glad you are back and healthy. It's really exciting to see how the nursery is going. The tiff eagle is looking stellar. Can't wait for the zoyzia to fill in. We have snow on the ground now here in Utah. Keep the excellent content coming!

How come you don’t use a bent grass or poa on the putting green Brenton?
@theaussielawn3 жыл бұрын
My climate is too harsh for the cool season grasses esp for a home putting green, (in a normal season we are very hot and dry) it would be irresponsible to waste that much water on a cool season home green
@BackyardBushveld3 жыл бұрын
Lekker video bud! I’d say just get the sod down and touch up afterwards. The sod should help the erosion a lot! And I wanna see some more grass so come on, get to it 😂
@theaussielawn3 жыл бұрын
I want it down too mate, With the rain we had the grass would have needed to be down a month to root in enough to not wash out haha. Unfortunately it will be an after christmas job now just in time for mid 40's temps 🤦♂️😂😎
@BackyardBushveld3 жыл бұрын
@@theaussielawn true. Just a bummer for us all too I guess😂

how did the zoysia do after the scalp? I did a similar thing here but to low-quality seeded zoysia. It stressed the hell out of the grass. Looking at it now, I think that taking a plug out of those spots would be a great idea, but of course, this is looking afterward. haha But I want to kill my zoysia here and sprig a better cultivar of dwarf zoysia here and that may be a lesson for me. Hopefully next year I will have enough grass to sprig my side lawn. How does the mini zoysia compare to tifeagle in color and beauty? thanks
@reachpuneetgulati3 жыл бұрын

In this day and age, every time someone disappears for a few days, we start thinking the worst. Hope your experience with zoysia is better than mine was. If you're up for another experiment, let the zoysia and the Tif Eagle grow together and see which one dominates. I predict they will blend nicely until there is the slightest problem with the zoysia. At that point it's all over and the Tif Eagle will completely fill in where the zoysia suffered.
@theaussielawn3 жыл бұрын
Yeah its true hey we do think the worst, I might try that experiment in a pot at some stage mate 😎

Good morning Brenton , just a question about the putting green, when you first laid the turf down what HOC were you cutting at before you dropped down to 3.5 mm ??.. Because in September I have bought and laid Tif Tuff Bermuda Hybrid Couch for the front lawn and the backyard as well . The results of this type of grass I am very happy within the investment . Currently grass cutting height at 15 mm Brenton . When do you recommend to lower the HOC ??? It's been a pleasure viewing your Turf Channel my friend, keep up the good work and looking forward to the next upcoming videos. take care and be safe ...
@theaussielawn3 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil, Thanks for your message Gee no you have me thinking from memory Im pretty sure I set myself targets e.g 15 down to 12 down to 10 down to 8 etc then after 8 I took it as low as i could on my scotty which is 6ish mm in between those too. I reckon my upcoming tiff front lawn project will be ideal for you. As i will be aiming to get it as short as possible as quick as possible, That will happen in January now unfortunately
