The secret with trends is - don't follow them! Find what you like and go with that. You can only buy what companies want to sell you so there will always be a fairly limited range of products and colours to choose from anyway. Trends change annually and trying to keep up will drive you crazy so don't. Develop your own style and live with it. Find the joy in what you love and live with it. Schopenhauer said that we give up 3/4 of ourselves to be like others. Be yourself and learn to love what you like.

I agree with your thoughts on both ins and outs. To me we're all looking for spaces that make us feel comfortable and safe while still feeling stylish and connected to nature personal travels, repurposed jewels, textiles , textures etc. All invite wonderful spaces of interest and delight with soul and style. On the outs I hear all the words everywhere are becoming dated. As much as I love a good quote and a good command of the English language to me it got too much. I prefer more expression through art, nature and pieces I love.

I've always appreciated gold and brown tones in my decor and I just finished painting EVERYTHING at least one or two shades darker than they were last year!... and I LOVE IT EVEN MORE!! I painted a beige den dark clay, a greige family room a deep caramel apple and tomorrow morning, I pick up my paint for the master bedroom and back hall in a color called "Trench Coat". I'm ecstatic! My favorite leather chairs fit perfectly within the new scheme as do my cherry bedroom outfit! TY very much.

I love #3 for in style and a little of #4. I love some vintage pieces but the granny chic will have to be used as accents in my home. I love all going out of style. I was hoping AND praying one style going out was these low profile beds without foundation/boxspring support. It took me over a year to find an all wood king size bed that supports boxspring a. Now that I found it in August 2021 I finally got a delivery date of 4/28/22. At 45 years old, I still like to climb in my bed instead rolling onto the floor from bed. Great video. I would love to see soft whites and light neutrals for whole house or dominant paint colors video.

As investment advice, putting in a kitchen with colorful cabinets will stamp the design as 2022. When you go to sell in five years or ten years, all white will offer the most flexibility for a new owner. They can paint or replace a few things and, voilà, they’ve personalized the space without breaking the bank. For me, replacing inexpensive cabinets from over 20 years ago has required a big budget for a tiny kitchen.

I just happened to have this show up on my Feed... I've been using green colours in my home Decor for several years... from Olive Green to pale green. And I don't like " hard edged furniture, I've been that way for MANY years;..soft curves, and what I call " sensual " furniture. The " Grandmilleneal Style " has been around for quite a while, it just didn't have a Name attached to it. It's actually more of a Timeless look, because it lends itself to cozy, inviting , and elements of one's own Signature/ personality. Also, about open shelving in a kitchen... oftentimes, it might be the only option if one doesn't have cabinet space available. I think it's a personal choice, so there's that. 😉🙂

My comment: You are off by a few miles Darling. White kitchens make small and medium kitchens look bigger, brighter, elegant and permit the introduction of various kinds of accessories that can be changed easily at any time bringing either the wood or metal or artisan flavors and that can be very appealing to a new buyer who has different ideas for trendy looks. Pale grey walls have a similar effect: expanding the areas with even the ceilings being the same very light grey. Decorations and furniture complete any variations in style and colors that, again, can be changed easily. Try suggesting rather than dictating !

Color affects your emotion. In law you put a criminal in a pink room. If you want to be heard you wear red. Green is a depression color. You should never have a green bathroom because it’s the first room that starts your day. Yellow makes you hungry. Judicial conference had a class about color. Magenta is a color most women are raped wearing. So color pays a big affect on us all

I painted my whole house shades of yellow gold. Tuscany style then I had beige couch with flowers and burgundy accent chair with burgundy curtains. I always felt frustrated and angry. I read up on colors and found red makes you feel angry and yellow when done in aboundance can make you feel overwhelmed. I changed my color palet to brown linen light grey walls and accent with cream colors and grey blue tones so much more calming. So happy I did that. So I agree colors affect a lot of things.
