Jennifer, you should know that i took your advice and purchased the app and i am absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism. the app does NOT do what it says it will do - i.e. provide a personalised claim, they entice you into spending money and when you do, and then realise it is a scam, they blatantly refuse to refund your money. I'm shocked and appalled that this kind of company exists today and I'm so very sorry that I took your word, trusted your recommendation and invested my money in this SCAM. the whole experience has been nothing but disappointing, maddening and a complete waste of my time, energy and money. i'd be ashamed to promote such an uncaring, cheating company and have them tied to my good name

Jennifer your meals remind me of your original book and how French women eat, maybe even a little more health conscience than them. I love cream of wheat and personally think anything is “healthy” in moderation. I feel sometimes we too often label foods as “good” “bad” or “healthy” when it’s really just the quantity we should be worried about. Thanks for sharing

I like how you did (and do) your intermittent fasting. Just so uncomplicated. I’ve tried a couple of fasting apps and tracking a lot of stuff (or even a little) just over complicates the process for me. Keep it Simple works best for me. I love these videos. Thanks Jennifer.

Upon hearing your experience, Jennifer, I put intermittent fasting in practice and it's been amazing for both my husband and I. We've both lost weight, kept it off and most important, feel better and have more energy! We don't follow a particular diet but I cook a lot of Mediterranean style foods which also makes us feel really good. Such a blessing ❤️

Why would anyone object to Henry James? Or ghost stories? I adore them. I've been reading them since I was a kid. When I was in the fifth grade, I'd bring a book of ghost stories home from the school library. Then I'd go to my room and start reading until it got dark enough to turn on the lamp. By the time my mom would call me for supper, it was so late, the hallway outside the bedrooms was completely dark. I had to walk past all those open bedroom doors, holding who knows what terrors watching from inside, until I got to the stairs. Then I bolted down them to light and warmth and safety. Good times.

I just want to thank you for sharing this video and many others about Intermittent fasting. I had three kids and at that time I was the smallest I had ever been. No wonder why? Your eating times and portion sizes are so close the way I was eating then! After baby no. four I've had 15-20 lbs that I just haven't been able to get off for six years. This reminded me I need to go back to my old ways. This has been such a light bulb moment for me. You have a beautiful chanle. Thank you again for sharing!!!!

I’m not a doctor but cream of wheat was one of my favorite breakfasts to have as a young child. About a year ago you posted a video similar to this where you had cream of wheat and berries because you were “feeling nostalgic” well that made me feel nostalgic and I went out the next day and bought some! We ran out a while ago but I am once again inspired to go and get some cream of wheat! Yum.

as a second year diatetics masters student, i say it’s all about the way you prepare cream of wheat (or oatmeal for that matter). if you eat it alone it’s equivalent to a couple pieces of toast and you’ll be hungry again in an hour, but when partnered with a protein rich dairy or plant milk and fiber-rich berries it’s a satisfying choice. however, it’s ultimately about what satisfies you for breakfast. p.s. love ur videos. i now have tea on my patio with my pups every afternoon ☺️

One thing I noticed that also helps make your intermittent fasting so successful is you eat natural whole foods with good ingredients it seems. You’re not eating in restaurants, and this alone can contribute to so much weight gain and inflammation, oversized portions, eating the wrong kinds of food, etc. You also present your food so beautifully which must also emotionally create satiety. Just such great vibes all the way around!!

Cream of Wheat is a great source of several important nutrients, including niacin, vitamin B6, thiamine, riboflavin, and foliate. It is also enriched with ferric phosphate, (a source of iron.) This improves the nutritional content, supplying 11 milligrams of iron in one serving. Iron is an essential mineral in red blood cells, carrying oxygen to all the cells in your body. An iron deficiency leads to anemia. Its an excellent food choice for vegans and vegetarians.

@@katierosealexander8132 Cream of Wheat is an American brand of farina, a type of breakfast porridge mix made from wheat middlings. It looks similar to grits, but is smoother in texture since it is made with ground wheat kernels instead of ground corn. Farina is a form of starch - flour - milled from a varierty of vegetables such as potato and cassava. In the USA, the term is associated with wheat middlings: the germ and endosperm of the grain, which are milled to a fine consistency and then sifted.

Not a nutritionist, but real cream of wheat is very healthy. Grind whole wheat berries in a blender and then cook them. Whole wheat contains 40 of the 44 essential nutrients your body needs. The ground wheat oxidizes and loses it’s benefits relatively quickly. If you are not going to cook it right away, it should be stored in the fridge or freezer. What you are eating has had all of the good stuff sifted out of it to make it shelf stable. Freshly ground wheat is vastly superior in taste and nutrition. I recommend seeking additional information about whole grains from Breadbeckers (they have a KZbin channel). I truly enjoy your channel. 💕

Looks delicious! I like that you eat normal, balanced meals and aren't afraid of fat. My Indian friend inspired me to make red lentil soup almost daily after she told me that in her household lentil soup (or daal) is a daily staple. I just cook red lentils and add marinara sauce for a simple plain food that my fussy kids will eat or we can all have as a side dish, or light supper with toast.

Hello, registered dietitian over here. In regards to cream of wheat, I guess it depends what you’d compare it to. It’s not the best choice but also not the worst choice. If you are someone who don’t struggle with satiety and that kind of breakfast will be enough to satisfy you until next meal, then it’s fine. But for someone who tends to be hungry all the time, trying to lose weight and if a diabetic, I’d suggest to eat cream of wheat occasionally. Tip: get whole grain cream of wheat instead of the original or instant. You’ll get some more fiber and protein which will help slow the glycemic response (the rise in blood glucose). It also helps if you top it with fruit and I also suggest adding nuts or nut butters of any kind.

I love cream of wheat. Grew up on it, it was my favorite as a child. But sadly, today non-organic wheat is doused with glyphosate before harvest to put the plant under extreme stress so it will "bolt" and produce more grain. This is actually done with many non-organic crops today.

Love your videos, Jennifer! and love what-you-are-eating descriptions! (may I eat at your house, too? haha!) Could you regularly add the size of your plates so that I can better determine portion-sizes? My plates tend to look more like service platters, I'm thinking. Must tell you that, even though you've been telling us forever to enjoy our meals at a lovely table with pretty dishes and such, I only started doing so a couple of days ago and, to my surprise, there's more to this than just extra planning. I feel better about myself and my home and my food and am more satisfied with those meals, even though the meals are smaller than before. My refrigerator is no longer always beckoning. I feel more elegant and am wanting to invite friends to dinner. Thank you for your beautiful work!

Hello, registered dietitian here 😄 cream of wheat is delicious, but for most people it’s not a very satiating breakfast as it’s low in fat and protein. Pretty much, it just spikes your blood sugars quickly and then you’re left feeling hungry soon after. You did balance it out well with the whole milk, cream and fibrous berries. I would recommend adding a hard boiled egg or other protein source along with it. They also sell whole wheat varieties which are also very delicious and a little better for you 😊 but since you mentioned in another video you don’t have issues with blood sugar/pre diabetes and you aren’t overweight, continue enjoying your cream of wheat 😁

I’ve tried cream of wheat, it’s okay, but I grew up on semolina. I boil a pot of milk, and slowly stir it in, stirring consistently for a few minutes to keep it from sticking or clumping. I don’t measure, but I put about a cup or two, depending on how runny or solid you like your pudding. I add sugar, and a bit of salt, tasting to see if it’s to my liking. I keep it bland enough so I can eat some of it with Nutella stirred in. 😋 I like to let it cool a bit, refrigerate it, and eat it cold, tho it’s great hot as well, which especially makes it easier to stir in Nutella.

Hi Jennifer, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner here. About the cream of wheat, just like the RDs have mentioned, it depends. A better question might be whether or not it is good for you bio-individually. How do you feel after you eat it? Any digestive discomfort or lags in energy within a couple of hours? Do you find it satiating? Pairing your grains, whether cream of wheat or toast, with protein and fiber rich foods, can help regulate blood sugar supporting you with sustained energy throughout the day and better sleep at night. Also, some people also find wheat difficult to digest and do better with alternative options. All those cues your body sends you are important tidbits of information that can help you decide if a food is helping you. But there's so much more to food though than just its nutritional value! As you mentioned, it's something you really enjoy, and food is meant to be enjoyed just as much as it is to be fuel for our bodies. Including foods that are nourishing for the soul is just as important. Thank you for this video and for giving us a glimpse into how you enjoy food throughout your day!

Cheryl, I also struggled with black coffee and it took me about 3 or 4 months to fully enjoy sitting down to a cup and now I prefer it black. Never thought I would get to that point. Also we grind fresh beans and when I use to use creamer and sugar I liked a dark bold roast but drinking it black we now drink a medium roast. Dark was too bitter, so maybe just trying different brewed roasted ☕️ coffee will help.

Maybe this will be helpful. I started with cream and sugar in my coffee years ago, slowly tapered off the sugar, then slowly cut the cream. I now love black coffee. As a life-long dieter and struggler with my weight, I felt compelled to check out the calorie and macro counts of the two days you show in this video, just for my own information. Although I can't verify this exactly, I did break down each dish into components for the calorie and macro counts, so I believe this is pretty close to accurate. Here are the results - Day 1 calorie count is 1557 calories total, with 48% Carbs, 35% Fats and 17% Protein. Day 2 calorie count is 1564 calories total, with 39% Carbs, 42% Fats and 19% Protein. I thought you and other viewers might want to see this! You are actually pretty consistent in the totals of what you are eating, that is interesting right? I'm curious about the evening hours, when you are just having water - do you go to bed quite early? Thanks for the inspiration again!

If you start breakfast at 9 am and start dinner at 5:00 pm, aren't you eating outside of your 8 hour window? You should be finished with your meals before 5:00, right? I am new to IF and I am trying to learn. My window is 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. I have a hard time completing my meal before 6. If it doesn't matter, I can stop beating myself up. I love your video. Thank you so much. Thumbs up!

Hi from uk where 'Cream of Wheat 'isn't sold .I think our nearest product is Semolina I believe ,and not eaten for breakfast. Is it a healthy breakfast? Well, that depends on what it is compared with-certainly it is low in sugar and fortified with B vitamins and iron and made with milk has calcium BUT it is not wholegrain so doesn't have all the benefits that comes with unrefined cereals. At least its s not as bad as Marshmallow Froot Loops!!!

Lovely video and enjoy your cream of wheat! It’s best made with milk and you can add a beaten egg (temper first so it won’t scramble) it’s delicious and will add extra protein! My father used to make it that way- of course top with some quality butter or cream 😁

For some reason I eat at 10, 12, at 1 and then at 2 so basically 5 hours in a row. But then I can last 18-20 hours. So maybe you don't eat/drink enough. I just started and haven't lost any weight so don't know if I am doing it right. But I eat pretty healthy I don't crave desert, but I do eat a lot of fruit. I can eat a whole box of strawberries or raspberries.

Can I please ask do you eat every meal sitting down at a table - never in front of tv - I know you posted on it but really ? Never ? It’s my goal to be more calm, elegant and slower, aware, present - you’re my inspiration

Thanks for this video. I used to eat cream of wheat when I was growing up but many years ago for no reason I switched to oatmeal for hot cereal. Now I think there’s more fibre and less gluten in oatmeal. For your salads and sides like the mashed sweet potatoes do u use a measuring cup or big measuring spoon? One cup of mashed is ok but one cup of the Chinese chicken salad for early supper would send me late night snacking-bingeing. I might need two cups of that. Of course I live alone and cook for one, so that’s also different for me-don’t have to share cooked food -so more available. Am enjoying your videos more and more.

At what time do you go to bed? Or how many hours after dinnertime do people go to bed? Avoiding nighttime snacks is the hardest for me...

I always see so many comments regarding portion sizes. I have just started Intermitant Fasting and was a "large portion" eater myself. However I have found having my three meals over 8 hours as apposed to 12 or 14 etc, my portion sizes have had to shrink because I just don't have the time to get as hungry. For this same reason I have stopped snacking. It's working! Herbal tea is making the night time stretch so much easier too. Thank you so much Jennifer, I am loving this new routine!
