Hello my lovelies!
I am so excited to share how beneficial Intermittent fasting has been for me. Postpartum weight loss can be challenging but this is how I successfully lost weight without losing my milk supply. Breastfeeding moms know that choosing to diet while nursing can feel selfish, but intermittent fasting has allowed me to lose 37 pounds slowly, gradually and guilt free. I am so happy to share all of the benefits of intermittent fasting with you as well as the things I have done in order to maintain this dietary lifestyle choice. I also included a full day of eating so you can see how I realistically maintain my intermittent fasting every day without depriving myself of the foods I love.

3 months postpartum and nursing here with my 5th baby! I'm 37 and my body likes to hang on to extra weight a lot more. So far, I'm 10 pounds down with 15-20 to go. I use 16/8 IF and I've been doing the 5×5 weight lifting program along with some jogging. I'm feeling strong and my baby is growing great! It can be done!👍🏻

How's it going? Just started IF. Nursing my 5th baby here too! 39 yo and your right: my body doesn't want to get rid of the excess this time around! Never had a problem b4 lol. 15lbs to go....

Have you had any issues with supply? I didn't do IF with my last baby and I had major issues with supply because I was new and didn't know enough. I'm pregnant again but want to do IF postpartum but afraid even with what I know now I'm gonna have low supply.

@@CG-mj8tk hello! I'm about 7 months Postpartum now. I've been slowly dropping fat and gaining back muscle. I could probably drop about 5-10 more pounds, but I'm in no hurry. The last few pounds are the most stubborn and I really did take my younger metabolism for granted! How are you?🙂

@@kinnykinsnoopy13 Hi! I haven't had supply issues, but I definitely wouldn't fast longer than 16 hrs if you're having any issues with supply. I nursed my first 3 babies no problem for over a year each. My 4th baby had bad "sucking form" and he couldn't draw enough milk from me. I had to pump and bottle feed him. Sometimes it just doesn't work the way we want it too and that's Ok! I've had no issues with my current baby girl. She's a "good" nurser, though! All babies are different and you know what's right and best for your little one.💖

@@abisola2606By the way i tried 14 hours fasting. It didnt effect my milk supply but everybody is different. You need to try and see how your body response to it. Ive done it around 10days but i stopped because it was hard to stay awake and hungry for so long hours with a new born. I started 4 weeks postpartum and the baby needs more time these weeks and i couldnt keep up with hunger..

@@anatolia774 thank you so much for your response. I am also currently 4weeks postpartum and was planning to ease my way into it with 12-14hour fasts - but I agree that it can be challenging so early on with the frequency of night feeds. I'll give it a go and see how I get on. All the best with your journey!

One week into a 16/8 intermittent fasting at almost 3 months post partum while exclusively breastfeeding. I havent weighted in but I can tell I'm losing the weight (I want to lose a total of 35lbs). Unfortunately for me I have seen a huge drop in milk production. I believe I had an slight oversupply prior to this, so at this time it is still enough for baby. Her weight or number of wet/soiled diapers are not affected. I use a haakaa during nursing to collect milk and would consistently collect 5 oz in the morning. Since IF, it has dropped to 2 oz. I am drinking fluids like crazy, also consume oatmeal and other milk boosting foods daily. I do not restrict calories at all; I eat absolutely what I want and include high nutritional foods. For reference, this is my second baby and breastfed him with a massive production for 3 years!!! The weight dropped in it's own after that pregnancy within the first 3 months PP. I will continue for another week and see if I cant get production up. If is problematic, I will halt the IF, get supply back and possible attempt it again later easing in to the 16/8 very slowly.

I’m so sorry that intermittent fasting has been challenging for you! I’ve had times where I felt my milk supply was decreasing as well. My doctor recommended that I eat more carbs if I saw a decrease in milk supply. I know that soy milk has helped a lot on days I know I’m going to be pumping. I really hope you can get with a dietician or someone who can help you achieve your weight loss and wellness goals without sacrificing your milk supply! I truly believe that there is no one size fits all solution for weight loss, it’s so dependent on the individual and what is best for their body. I know it can be frustrating when your lifestyle directly can effect your baby. It can be such a challenge to prioritize our health and our baby’s health simultaneously. I’m here for you and I so believe that you can get the tools and help you need to feel and be your best! 💗💗

Great video, I do IF my son will be 2yrs old in a few weeks 😀 and I still breastfeed him. I drink only water while am fasting at least 70 to 90oz before braking my fast , he eats well, but still want his breastmilk....lol I do 16/8 and most days I go over by 2 to 3 hours depending on how I feel, but i notice once I stay hydrated my milk flows very well and the weight is melting off!!! I would definitely ask your doctor about it first! I have had a lot of success with it but I am also very flexible if I feel like my body needs more than I’m giving it. I can tell I’m not getting enough for my milk supply because my breasts will start to sting a little bit while I nurse, that’s only happened a couple of times but I was very under hydrated and after I had water and ate a meal I felt normal again. And it has been a very slow weight loss journey for myself, I think if the weight is coming off too quick it means I am cutting out too many calories and will add in extra smacks throughout the day :) good luck! I wish you the best health and wellness for you and your baby💗
