I'm an Indian Christian. Rajiv has transformed my thinking on the way I look at my own religion and also benefited from his enormous knowledge and insights about the Dharmic way of life. I had watched a couple or so of his videos explaining and deconstructing the Christian religions about 3 years ago. At first I was enraged and thought I was just hearing one of those bombastic speeches that you get to hear from some our politicians. So I did not bother to get back to him for at least a year and a half. However my knowledge and history of my faith has grown and hence since a few months ago I revisited some of his videos. And this time it was more like a revelation of how much deep knowledge this man has about the Christian faith as well as other Abrahamic faiths. He does know what he is talking about which has not been the case with many so called intellectuals or should I say rabble rousers that I have heard on You Tube. His knowledge is just of another level. Even when he is deconstructing / criticising the Christian religion he does is with such rigour and unemotional logic that I cannot but admire. Thus my respect for him has increased manifold and I have become addicted to his speeches and have started to dwell deeper into the Dharmic philosophy. Rajiv has affected me at many levels and made me think about myself and about my cultural roots. Thank you sir.

Great. You are now in s rare, unique position. As a Christian Insider you can study the preachings & practices of Bible and compare it to Sanathana Dharma. Reading books like Being different and Indra’s net by Rajiv Sir will give you a basic ground on differences between Abrahamic and Vedic faiths. On which you can build on.

Going back to Spirituality and creating Selfless people in Hindu society who can give Tan-Man-Dhan to protect culture is the need of time. RSS is doing this for last 90 years. Common hindus must at-least attend RSS shakha once to experience this. RSS also needs to collaborate with similar people from outside who genuinely care for Bharat. I am fully supporting Infinity foundation. Also i totally agree that common people have preserved culture for hundreds of years but Today's world technology is so power-full it can affect common people at large scale. Therefore Hindus need to be more careful.

RajivJi (garu), Namaskaram /\. I see that Sankarachraya is the one who has observed that the Santana Dharma is going down with the other Vedic Dharmas like Buddism, Jainism and others, has taken up the task to establish it as the main Dharma in Bharath. In this pursuit he went on the Dharma Avadanam with various kings/pandits across the Hindu land. Started off with South India and then to North (famous one being the Avadanam with Kashi king with his own wife as the Judge). As i believe, Dravidian concept in TamilNadu clicked because of the secondary treatment given to South folks. Recollect that Sankaracharya is the one who resurrected Sanatana Dharma and from South. Given this, and for you to get the movement, involve as much as the folks from South to get the momentum. a humble suggestion from a layman.

If I understand him right, Swami Vivekananda wanted the youth to be spiritually conscious and committed to Dharma, and then do the temporal work for India. But very little of that has happened. Which is why we have the rich so self-centered, indulgent and West -oriented. It also explains why the establishment people, including the judges are increasingly feeling inferior and diffident about our ethos and culture.

Problem is we Hindus are our own worse enemies. We are doing more harm to our own heritage. I mean many people call themselves hindu but they do totally anti hindu things. Best thing to do is educate our own people about Hinduism or I should say Sanatan Dharm. It’s quiet shocking how much people lack but it is so important for the youth to learn. Also many kids on whatsapp are watching porn all day and share such garbage all over the groups. I have been sharing dharmic videos on many groups and I see porn as a big problem online which again is linked to raise in disrespecting and exploiting women and rape issues etc.... nothing is done on these kinds of problems.

What’s the colonial “Hindu temples act”? Does it still give state govt authority over the assets from any Hindu temples for state’s own use? Who are the players supporting this in a secular state? Can’t find good, relevant info on it. We always go to temples and think why can’t they make it cleaner and organized? But maybe because we do not know where the funds go we keep unfairly blaming the pujaris.
@srinivasangokul3006 жыл бұрын
Jocjabes Yes, state has full control over temples under the Hindu Roligious and Charitable Endowments Act. This act is in force since 1925. Out of every ₹100, the state skims off ₹18/- as legitimate charges. Lot of temples also fund the neighborhood Mosques and Churches. What ever left off is for temple maintenance, Priests/workers salary etc, which is little. So the Executive Officer of a temple gets salary right on time 1st of every month, while priests/workers are told “no pay or less pay because no funds”. So nothing left for temple maintenance. There are exceptions - Tirupathi, Srirangam, Manthralayam etc, where the funds left over are enough for the temple, but largely temples are starved for funds.

Srinivasan Gokul I wonder if any entity or person has challenged this act in court? It clearly violates “secular” nature of the constitution. Seems like it’s the deep state operating in the shadows most probably aligned with breaking India forces.

I would appreciate if there was awareness in people to call it "Dharma" "धर्म ". "The law of multiverse, ब्रह्मा़ंड " , "law of nature, प्रकृति". This manifests itself in our way of life based on Sanatan Sanskriti. Vedic SANSKRITI is repository of knowledge of human evolution. This evolved with the time and yug (kaal). Dharma has universal application without discrimination. It gave such a good and peaceful life to its followers that India was the top economy of the world till 1200 AD since ancient time. Till the Islamic invaders took over the major part of India after several failed attempts of invasion loot and plunder. 1. The place between Himalaya in north to indu sarovar (Indian ocean) in south is called Hindu. Himalya Hi + indu. Makes the word Hindu. Used for geographic demarcation. Hindu kush mountain Hindu river called as Sindhu river all indicated the sanskrit origin of the word. But yes doesn't indicate religion but Geographic. Hindustan is a pure sanskrit origin word. Hindu + sthan. Any word added with "sthan" indicates its sanskrit origin. "sthan" became "stan" in apbhransh and prakrit. Has nothing to do with Persian or Arabic. Read the Aagmas and puran. The muslim invaders tried to demean the word Hindu with many bad words to show them down and paint them as bad people. This is how racist jokes are created. They used this word so many times that it sounded like they created this word. As in present day muslim use "gau mut" word more than the word Allah if talking about Hindu. 2. Since" Dharma" evolved and led humans from darkness to light from ignorance to knowledge. "तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमया". There was no other religion to compete So there is no name, no rules for bashing other religion and concept of conversion. You can't bash criticize or compete non existent. 3. This is why got more than 1400 books scriptures on various topics helpful in material and spiritual life and this knowledge evolved with time. 4. Ayurvda, Medicine, Vyakrna, Natyashashtra, state crafts, yagya hawan ritual, philosophy, astrology, Jyotish, poetics, sangita shastra, yoga, Veda,Vedanta, Aagam, Nigam, Itihas, Puran, Vyakaran, chhand, Nirukta, Mimansa architecture mathematics to name a few. Books are available on every aspect of human brain can imagine in such a detail that only one book Mahabharat contains one lakh shlokas. 5. In short Dharma is celebration of the diversity of Human knowledge. Celebrating life and Nature is integral part of Sanatan sanskriti. Hindu celebrate Holi Diwali Chhath Pongal Vaisakhi Sankranti alongside numerous smaller celebration round the year. 6. We as a layman only know about Dharma as a blind man knows about elephant after holding the tail of the elephant. 7. Most of us are only able to know what we see on daily basis like nature and creation worship. And on the basis of this we criticize and appreciate dharma. But Dharma criticize none. Dharma don't give scope for criticism but enlightenment and seeking truth . 8. There is so much more to know. Since I am born in a Dharma followers family. Therefore I celebrate the diversity of human thoughts with ease. Dose not mean i know everything. But once you will know Dharma out of the set criteria of Abrahamic religion for Dharma. You will find nothing to criticize like a blind man holding an elephant tail and saying why he is made to hold a snake. Instead of criticism You will question and seek answers. 9. For example when you see a survivor on discovery eating dead animal poo and pee either you appreciate or criticize this. But no one can deny that this human will survive the odd. And Dharma have a complete set of philosophy and practicing sect called aghori. However a few. To make sure that the human will survive the extreme. Human will not die out because of the certain dogmas made by the so called civilized society or religion. Dharma supports all accommodates all. 10. Religion ends at heaven and hell only but the Dharma gives to strive even beyond this. That's Moksha complete liberation. Gives emphasis on seeking, knowing your self deep within and finding your own path. This is the reason from Sanatan dharma lots of ism like Jain, Buddha, Sikh, vaishnava Shaiva, Atheism, came out without any conflict or blood shed. Can you imagine the same with Abrahmic religion? 11. If someone adopts Sanatan dharma way of life. He automatically fits into the either Varna Vyavstha Brahman, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra according to their profession or Ashram Vyavstha Brahmacharya Grihasth Vanprasth and Sanyas. Together its called Varnashram Vyavstha for the benefit of the society. I can enlighten you on this vedic Varnashram vayvstha. Mail me Varna division start from us. Our head is our brahma to control our shoulders are our kshatriya to protect us our stomach is our vysya to feed us and our foot are our shudra to serve us. In other words for ourselves we ourselves are our ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य and शूद्र. For our family we all ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य and शूद्र for each other. But for the society we are ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय, वैश्य and शूद्र according to our profession to the society. In Another term division of profession. Which exists all over the world in different forms. And this is most scientific division of profession to avoid conflict in society. This Varna can be achieved by your Karma. To fit into Ashram one has nothing to do. Fits in naturally and can stay in any of the phase as long as he wants. Now it depends on us that we respect equally to our teacher and our toilet cleaner. Which Dharma clearly says respect each and every thing. This is why worship for all not only to teachers. So if you respect your teacher and toilet cleaner equally you are a great Dharmik person. To show respect we must touch feet not the head. Now where you see fault in this varna system. Lots of Rishi like Valmiki, Vedvyas, Ravidas, Parashar etc were not born in cast Brahman but respected worshipped. Cast seems a tribal identity with all the evils of Ego and depends totally on an individual local social environment no support from Dharma 12. Sanatan Dharma allow an individual to seek truth, follow a path or make his her own path to reach the goal of 'Brahma" the energy and consciousness of the Brahmaand. The feeling of अहं ब्रह्मास्मी, I am the consciousness makes one enlighten and तत् त्वमसी, so are you makes you a Guru. This is the reason encouraged many enlightened soul to find and make their own path. Thus Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, sant parampra like Kabir, Ravidas etc were born without any conflict. Dharma allowed them to propagate and flourish 13. Comparing Dharma with one book one prophet religion is not a good idea. Can only increase ignorance. Because books of mazhab are small simple and for that for the followers of that particular mazhab only. So better study the world's oldest surviving civilization based on Dharma with universal application, yourself. अहं ब्रह्मास्मी l तत त्वं असी. सर्वे जना:सुखिनो भवन्तु. सर्वे सन्तु निराम्या:l वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम l सत्यमेव जयते l ॐ शांति l

The West has always misconstrued the ancient varna and jati system in India as a Hindu caste system for social discrimination, whereas the truth is that so called caste system (name given by the Portuguese) was the result of two needs of the society, such as the Hindu doctrine for managing the occupational needs of people; and arrival of foreigners, especially the Aryans from Southern Europe in the Indian sub-continent in 1500 BC, within whom racial discrimination was rampant. The complexity of the caste system in India stems from the 4 varnas in Manusmriti and the 25,000+ jatis which developed over a period of time in various parts of India. Although the 4 varnas were adopted as a means for one's occupation, diet and social interaction, there are several examples where those from a lower caste moved to a higher caste over a period of time. For example, originally the Marathas belonged to jatis which were Sudra, the lower caste. But the Marathas who became kings in west India later claimed and acquired the Kshatria status. Like the Marathas there were other communities which, religiously did not belong to the Kshatria varna but acquired this status. The Reddy in Andra Pradesh and Nayar in Kerala are such two examples. There are also other examples where some jatis in certain parts of ancient India which were Vaisia and Sudra also claimed to be closer or equal in hierarchy to the Brahman Varna, by adopting Brahman customs like vegetarian diet and strict observance of purity and cleanliness. Research also reveals that some of the varnas had different status in different parts of India. For example Dhobis (washers) in north India were seen as untouchables, while in west India they had Sudra status. The oil pressers in east India were seen as untouchables, but in central India they had a high status while in west India they had Sudra status. In some Indian societies inter-jati or inter--varna marriage was even an acceptable feature. One such example of marriages existed in Kerala in south India, where Nayar women (aristocracy community) married men from the Numbodiri Brahman community. The orthodox Hindus believed that anyone who does not belong to the four Varnas is an outcast and untouchable. All foreigners and non-Hindus were supposed to be untouchables, the same as the outcasts who were for menial jobs. But in reality neither all foreigners nor non-Hindus were treated as untouchables. Foreigners and non-Hindus were treated differently in different parts of India. Some of the foreigners adopted Hinduism and integrated in the upper level of the Hindu hierarchy. In a nutshell, the religious caste system practised in Hinduism grew out the need to manage the society as per the occupation of the individual, but in general it was impossible for a person in one varna to move to another varna, except for a few cases like those of Marathas, Reddys and Nayars; but the varnas also varied from region to region within India. The muslim invaders took advantage of the Hindu caste system from the 12rh century to convert the lower castes to Islam, and the christian missionaries followed suit; as a result no reform could be introduced in Hinduism until the early 20th century. After gaining independence from Great Britain in 1947, the constitution of India was the first law which accorded equal rights to all citizens of India; and in the 21st century the divisions between the varnas in Hinduism have diminished considerably. In future, as India when it becomes a superpower and a uniform civil code is introduced, I am sure the varnas will remain on paper only.

RSS has been a psycho-physical bulwark for the fragmented Hindu community for many decades. They have not nurtured much of an intellectual tradition that can take on the Indian Left, leave alone the global forces. The BJP government appears better in some aspects than the abominable Congress, but there are only two or three talented ministers, with some others like Gen V K Singh and Hardeep Singh Puri having been made to hold inconsequential portfolios. In any case , the government's handling of some issues like J&K, education and culture have been disappointing, to say the least.

Nothing wrong with being s “Transactional Hindu” as people have different levels of consciousness, But the lack in knowledge of Sanathana Dharma and giving up one’s traditional family religious practices is worrying. For example, nothing wrong in having a job overseas. But why not do Sandyavandhana or study/recite Tevaram & Tiruvasagam? This “don’t care” attitude towards traditional practices further takes people away from Sanathana Dharma there by making them (if not them, next generation) ripe for Abrahamic religious conversion. So today the only difference between a Brahmin and a non Brahmin in Tamil Nadu today is - former is pure vegetarian, latter is not..very sad.

Rajiv as always very precise and very assertive ! However, I did not like the way you brushed current govt and RSS. NOT I am not saying that you are WRONG. They definitely need to do more on the subjects and areas where you need to act!...BUT... my issue ..please do not assume expertise on political management of India based on your management experience is my humble request. The reasons for you them not doing...some of it you have already said, don't want to repeat. BUT I felt one crucial fact you are are missing.... your sense of URGENCY is coming and borne out of years of actual fight on ground( I have deep felt respect for that Sir).HOwever, they are moulded in certain way and focused their immediate goal. They have to establish themselves as valid team to to govern India... One important point, most of your suggestions would mean a disruption in most places, academics, media, and most imiportantaly, bureaucracy...and lastly in Judiciary. May be they have started noting down and taking actions... the results will come in due of course...now you are remember art politics is about taking credit and not talk about actions untlll they are there is what new breed is trying to do. They are being VERY VERY CAREFUL with calming/changing anything. As for ministers, do you think all the minsters in TRUMP are talented ? Its always about leaders ...so as along as MODI is there... we should expect change... may good ministers will hasten it...BUT... DO NOT give up on them. I said these thing only to make my point that governments take longer to perform due to various pressure and energies swapped into existing dirty politics cleaning.
