My buddy ‪@RyanMorie‬ and I went fishing for the Invasive Bullseye Snakehead. We spent our time casting topwater frogs along the banks of South Florida canals. Bullseye Snakehead were introduced into South Florida's waters in the early 90's in Broward county. They have since flourished and expanded their ecological range into Miami-Dade and Palm Beach county. They make excellent table fare and I show you how to fillet and cook the snakehead as well!

Hello from Malaysia. Snakeheads is an extremely favourite target fish among us anglers here. We have a few types of snakeheads here. The ones you are catching are called Kerandang or Toman Bunga in Malaysia. Very rare here due to its popularity as ornamental fish. I've never seen anyone eating bullseye snakeheads before in my country. Only through your channel I get to know they are good eating. In Malaysia (and also our neighbour Indonesia), roadside fishing for snakeheads at waterways, lakes and even gutters is a very popular favourite past time activity. We will ride our mopeds and stop by the road side for a few cast at potential spots. The popular snakehead species for table fish here is the Striped snakeheads or Haruan in Malay (Gabus in Indonesian). Look up 'casting haruan' to see loads of KZbin videos of Haruan fishing in Malaysia. Or, look up 'pancing gabus' to see videos from Indonesia. I heard snakeheads are a problem in the USA. Searched 'snakeads usa' and came upon your channel. Subscribed.

@@Krush0-0in Malaysia we call the Maculata (Haruan Kobra). Extremely rare. We call channa striata, Haruan. Striata is the common snakehead. We also have Channa Limbata, known as Haruan Kedak, Lucius known as Bujuk and the popular game fish Micropeltes (Toman).

I used to snake head fish in Florida. I used to eat them too. Delicious fish until I found out that they have parasites in the meat. The parasites are little yellow balls in the meat which look like eggs but you cut them open and it’s a worm. You can see it in the video if you pause at 20:29 and look at the 3rd fish (from left to right) on the lower portion you’ll see a small faint yellow dot. They’re about a milimeter long or so. The parasites die when you cook em but I just don’t know if I can eat them anymore. I wonder if anyone else noticed it or cared.

I am up here in Maryland. We have the northern snakehead. My son caught a 13.5 inch and we decided to keep it. It was the first one we have caught. He wanted to eat it so I cooked it up for him. It was delicious and for a small fish it yielded to nice fillets.

I have never eaten"Snakehead" and probably would, except the name does not sound appetizing. If the fish was renamed,I feel sure that it would appeal to a greater audience. The Patagoinian Toothfish is now "Chilean Sea Bass".The "Slimehead is now,"Orange Roughy"and the "Asian Carp"is becoming "Copi". By changing the name, the marketability of these fish have changed dramatically. How about having a contest to see if your viewers can come up with a more creative name and thereby reducing the population of this invasive fish. The next step: Seeking approval from the federal Food and Drug Administration, which says "coined or fanciful" fish labels can be used if they're not misleading or confusing. I am always loving your and Brooke's videos! You guys rock!

Origin: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) is found in rivers in southeastern Sumatra, Kapuas basin of western Kalimantan. Temperament: Aggressive. Company: Channa marulioides (Emperor Snakehead) should be kept with species smaller then the snakeheads size. At Indonesia and Malaysia, this fish have a nice price .
