Thanks for comparing shares to MMF and very happy that you highlighted the pros and cons of each. Completely agree that stocks are very risky and abit sophiscated therefore would recommend new investors to put money in MMF as they get more knowledge about stock market.

Exactly Lawrence. Before you invest in stock, you must first understand how they work, otherwise you might regret it

This is so helpful and into detail, thank you. But all in all making money and making it in life is a complex process

It certainly is complex. We have to try, learn and discover at the same time

Hi, thanks for the good presentation. For the calculation, dividends are paid quarterly or after a whole financial year (12 months)? What will be the comparison for the whole 12 months between shares & MMF?
@ivyoyori2 күн бұрын
Thanks. Dividends are paid once or twice a year but for most, it's once . Also, not all companies pay out dividends especially those whose share price is in cents. Even for those that pay dividends, there might be a year that they may not payout if the year did not have good profits

Already liked, and waiting for the next one.. I waited till the end to see if and which you would recommend?
@ivyoyori9 күн бұрын
I would go for both but honestly , if my monthly savings were like 5,000 and I want to start a side hustle that requires money, I would go for MMF since I will need to withdraw and use the funds later on.

This is such an informative video. I didn't know that as long as you buy your shares before book closure, you could earn dividends. Would you make a video detailing the book closure dates of companies in the NSE and also the dividends that were paid out this year? I think other viewers will get value from that. Thanks!
@ivyoyori8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the idea. Will make a video on that

Thanks for sharing. When is the right time to buy shares?
@ivyoyori7 күн бұрын
Buy when the price is low. So choose a company and compare to the previous prices See how it has been trending and when you spot the price is lower relative to other months buy. Also buy before the dividends are paid out and books have been closed.

Which company shares will you recommend for one to buy
@ivyoyori7 күн бұрын
Depends on your risk appetite but I would go for bank stocks, then manufacturing company stocks. Don't buy stocks from the same industry. Diversify

What if you invested in etica as a daily compounding?
@ivyoyori8 күн бұрын
Yeah Betty. MMFs compound but Dividends don't.The calculation I did for Mmf had been compounded for 3 months.
@xxlancelotwolf._.552 күн бұрын
So if you are in August, buy shares so as to benefit from dividends and if it is October go to the MMFs and wait till August get interest for 10 months in the MMF, ditch the MMF and buy shares and get the dividends in September and then rinse and repeat😂?
@edidionguyah29319 күн бұрын
So what happened to compounding?
@ivyoyori8 күн бұрын
In this case, the compounding for MMF was for three months. Dividends from Shares or capital gain from shares don't compound

Is time factor not considered in dividends computation?
@ivyoyori7 күн бұрын
Time is a factor only if you buy before the books are closed, otherwise ,it's not used to determine the amount you will receive. Only the number of shares you have and dividends per share will
@moureenchelule94187 күн бұрын
@ivyoyori thanks for that's,though it seems more beneficial to speculators,short term investors than the long term investors. Thanks for this,
