I like how you mentioned that champion select trick, because I do the same thing when I play Kled mid. Kled is a bit riskier to blind pick, but I think it's still worth it to give my top laner a good matchup.

At 15:04 you use the normal recall before herald dies. Then herald dies and gives you empowered recall, which is then consumed by your normal recall. I didn't know it worked like that, but it's good to know

Petu... I haven't played league in years or seen your videos in years... i am also an old player who started in season 2 and i have left the game and come back many times. I've returned this week and this video was recommended to me. It's been a pleasure hearing your voice and you almost killed me laughing not even 3 minutes into the video. Not only this! The real setting no one is talking about is movement prediction. People used to abuse it including Faker but stopped because an update caused it to start stuttering your character and messed up movement. This only happens over 144 fps if you cap it at 144 it works perfectly and makes the game feel 1000% more smooth.

Fun fact, displaying champion names is super useful for new players in order to identify and remember each champion (there are over 167 at the moment) HOWEVER, if you happen to play with that friend and the person is playing an enchanter, asking the person heal you will make it so the person asks "which champion are you?" and u will have to specify which will take a second or 2 and u get to die...a little inconvenience that wouldnt happen if the normal nickname is displayed. On that note, I wish there was an option so that only rival names could be displayed as the champion names and allied or premade names were the same at the same time.

If you ever struggle identifying champs I always use the trick of reminding myself that they are either garen or they're not.

i am diamond and i have had insane results with cassio ADC, because everytime jungler ganks you, you get atleast 1 or 2 persons, alot of times i get tripple kill with Ap cassio as ADC role.

That kill on Fiora at 7:40 won lane for your cass, took Fio out of the game, and put an early DEFEAT mentality on all your opponents, well played. I think champion name is a great setting, I've been using it for about a year or so and I feel more focused, almost like I am becoming the champion. Helps me see my mistakes objectively too when I review, since im not seeing my summoner name. Super nice setting love seeing someone talk about it!

That Lee skin is probably the worst offender in terms of visual clarity _ever_ . Sometimes he looks like Ezreal, sometimes like Ryze because fudge the players we just want them to buy it, not to know who it is. To a lesser extent this has also been happening with splash arts. Sometimes I'm in loading screen and go "Wait, when did they pick Zed ?" but it's Pyke

I feel exactly the same with so many skins looking super alike. Especially with some more expensive ones changing the skillshot look it's not possible to dodge or recognise if it is a fancy morgana q or something else. Or focusing the adc instead of senna when they have the same skin and both are shooting a rifle at you standing on top of each other. This is a great tip!

Hi petu i would actually disagree with you. I prefer having no names above as you don't get useless information on your screen (you don't need the same info on the screen twice). Your eyes also usually automatically go read the text so it's distracting. Now i do agree if you don't have every skin memorized (like me) its better to have champ names

I had a situation where I was Udyr and I had to choose between a caitlyn a leblanc and her clone, initially it wasn't an issue but later on with empowered udyr r being really flashy and both of their skins having a light blue theme It was terribly messy and I had to choose in the heat of the moment, I got lucky and snagged the caitlyn but I definitely was thinking I was on the leblanc for a good moment and it might've costed me a big fight. Turning this setting on would really help thanks.

This sounds more like a personal thing, for me, I can tell what champ it is just by looking at them, doesn't matter what skid they have on, at least to me, this isn't a problem and can always tell who i'm playing with or agenst.

Instructions unclear. When I tell my team to swap pick order, 50% of the time, they'll tell me to "stfu bronze", and will use any engagement I show to maximise our chances of victory as an excuse to flame and/or int/soft int, because their unteasonable insecure snowflake overdised egos can't handle being told what to do.

It's not like you're dropped in the middle of the game, among all the skins and chromas. You see which champions are played in select, plus you have the loading screen. You really shouldn't be struggling with "identifying" champions as you put it.

I once got confused by an enemy Ahri thinking it was a Rakan even though the enemy didn't had a Rakan, it was the 500 dollar skin. Ended up getting one-shot.

That’s a reality of midlane mages. I’m anivia main and playing for 5 cs advantage is mostely it. Against most roaming matchup you can even leave lane. That’s what sucks about assassins killing bot after you ping 10 times…

Honestly League is really interesting now with how balance changes are reverting. Things suddenly don't fit into nice neat boxes, which forces players to make harder decisions. The ADC items are now semi awkward in that there isn't one item that gives you exactly what you want, there is always something missing. The runes are getting shifted to get rid of the useless ones like overheal, and you now have to decide between consistent but micro healing or big important healing upon takedowns.

I enabled it years ago because it makes me think of characters as npcs and I treat every game like a dark souls game. "If i dies to that it had to happen. What did I learn? How do I overcome this foe? Let's try that now!". Disable chat as well and you are good to go lol

What I'd like is a setting to disable all skin visuals except your own, because some of the new ones are just plain disgusting. Hwei skin and base are like night and day, and when the champion has 3 abilities for each basic ability, I'd like to be able to recognize them immediately

im 4 mins in an you are absolutely right.... on enemy team was a samira ADC, lux support, and diana mid, and we were doing dragon... i warded toward mid river bush and all 3 of them came out of the bush and my head went for a loop... i swear i thought the samira was diana, because she was grey the diana was lux because she was pink.... and the lux was samira because she was glowing gold... until 3 seconds later when we got diana ulted...

This setting highly depends on your ability to tell what champ you are playing against. I've never had an issue with any skin or champ before. If I see a champ I know what it is regardless of the skin.

You can do the same thing that you were talking about in champ select by swapping right as ban phase ends. Like right after the timer hits 0, you offer the swap and then it keeps the bans in the same spot. I play a lot of Shen support and swap with first or second pick all the time and they think I'm top lane lol

My problem with turning champ names on is that the settings reset back to summoner names after every game and I don't want to change my settings every game. I also have to spend 10 seconds at the start of every game to turn off and then turn back on "attack move bind to left click" so having to add more time to change more settings at the start of every game is just really inefficient unless they make these settings changes stay for every game.

I've used this setting for two years now because I noticed I use colours to identify what champion I'm looking at, so I can at least try to mitigate the confusion somewhat with this
