Sad to hear that the Ioniq 5 is going but the decision makes a lot of sense. Keep the videos coming; your channel is so underrated. The Vauxhall Mokka-e looks interesting... though you might miss the size and charge speed of the Hyundai. The updated Niro EV has a bit more space than the Mokka if that's an option.

We looked at the Mokka-e but smacked our heads on the door opening - it's so low for an SUV! and I'm only 5'7" (169cm) so I'm not going to be ducking everytime I get in the car! Completely weird design decision!

Your Italy trip in the Tesla will be an interesting watch. We have recently returned from a 3800 Mile round trip to the costa del sol in our Tesla. It was a breeze! No range anxiety, no charger anxiety, no issues whatsoever. A very relaxed and comfortable drive, even our dog was chilled for the whole journey!! What is your driving distance of your Italy trip?

Sad to hear about this - yours is one of the channels I *enjoyed* watching - the laid back, not excited-in-your-face style, your day-to-day stories and generally well thought out and considered viewpoints were a highlight for me. That said? I totally get it.. THAT said? I can't even buy one in the USA right now. Literally can't get one ( a Limited). I'm on a 'waitlist' *cough cough* for what the dealership tells me is a 3-5 month wait. I reckon yours would sell like a hot-cross-bun if you were to hold out for the price you want. Your videos are good almost regardless what they are about. You talk about EVs is a easy, honest and straightforward way. Also Flaviana's contribution is great. Good luck with the sales, enjoy Tesla, promote Onto so you can get some cash. When it comes to the new car... I recommend new Niro EV, eC4, ID3. I drive ID4 and 2 year old eNiro. I'm happy with both ...a bit more with ID4. Waiting for your videos and regards from Sweden.

Bring it on! I am really looking forward to the views of Family EV on the Tesla. You have the advantage of living with multiple EV's, so can make real world comparisons of what it is like to live with and the pros and cons. There is a lot of Tesla content out there, however a lot of it is biassed one way or another (I say that as a Tesla owner myself), you'll be providing much needed content :-)

In America, especially the SF Bay Area some call the Tesla the "people's car" in a pejorative tone. But Ford made the first one, the Model T and then the Model A and VW put it in their name - the "Volks Wagen" so in a world of cars with grills and chrome and knobs and buttons and levers, the Tesla is actually a unique car. A stealth car - looks plain and innocuous but on the green light, it is gone while that Macan is still reving up. Cheers and drive safely. Et à bientôt.

To be fair your IONIQ 5 travel report has been your best yet! Excellent video and I wish I would be so chilled - We and I can learn about how well you dealt with the adversities you came across. However you will find that the range of the Tesla is amazing over the IONIQ 5.We rejected the Model 3 over the boot and got a Model Y.Also rejected the EV6 and the IONIQ 5 due to the Satnav !

Since then I got myself a Model 3 and I think you'll be impressed with the space, for a sedan it's quite good. And going to Italy will be different, the efficiency and the SuC network will make everything more flexible along the trip. 👍

I currently own an Ioniq 5 and a Polestar 2. Formally owned a Tesla model Y. I just wanted to chime in when I heard you say that Tesla's satnav is the best. It certainly is better than the Ioniq 5 satnav, but Polestar is even better. On Tesla there is no setting to avoid freeways or motorways or whatever you want to call it. And it just routes you the way it wants you to go. With Polestar and Google maps, it will present you with optional routes. You can of course also "avoid freeways" in the Polestar and if your destination has business hours, it will warn you if you are going to be there close to closing or after its closed. You also have a map right in front of you in the drivers display.

We do get some bizare automatic re-routing with our Classic Model S as it reacts to forthcoming traffic problems. But it always gets us there - for FREE.

You can always avoid tolls with Tesla settings. And depending on when you sold it, recent software updates have introduced waypoints so you can force it a bit more to go the way you want.

A sad day, but we’ve been with ONTO for a few months, following your recommend, whilst we waited for the arrival of the Ora CAT. As you maybe aware Ora have now delayed delivery of its larger battery version to 2023, so ONTO have now got us for another 6 months. The ONTO Zoe is fine. Model Y is the Tesla to get if you can, the Model 3 does seem like a compromise in so many ways.

Tip about Tesla SatNav: after you type in the destination, the drop down box appears with step by step directions. Scroll to the bottom and you’ll find useful data. Minimise the entire box by swiping it up from the bottom and the map will zoom in. Swipe the reduced box down and the map will zoom out to show overall route. Edit charge stops and PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL when using Autopilot because it is very unstable. I always turn off AEB, Lane departure auto steer and other driving alerts because they are ridiculously unpredictable and annoying.

So sorry to hear this. The disappointment on your face seemed very genuine. As an I5 owner I found your videos both useful and entertaining and I know exactly what you mean when you say you like it when people turn their heads. I'm surprised that the ONTO arrangement will save you money long term, unless you only drive for x months per year, or you have a ridiculously high insurance premium. Maybe a video explaining the OnTo costs vs owning the car will make for an interesting vlog. Finally with regards to "I don't think that I'll ever have a car this cool again", I am already looking forward to the "buying back my old car" vlog in 2023 :)

We’re right now on a trip from Stockholm to Elba in our new Model Y. No hassle at all with the supercharger network, it just works, very convenient. No superchargers on Elba, but there a few public 11 and 22 kW chargers that will do the trick instead. Enjoy your trip!

I have driven my MY three times between Warwickshire and my home in the Algarve ! It’s utterly amazing… the supercharger and the auto-routing. With the autopilot engaged the only pain on the French autoroutes are the tolls.

Entertaining interaction as usual. We’ve just done several thousand miles zig-zagging around England, Scotland and Wales in the Tesla, packed to the gills with camping crap. We’ve spoken to some drivers who don’t use Autopilot, but it’s so easy, and very relaxing (once you’ve learned to use it within its ‘intended parameters’)…you don’t even take your hand off the wheel to engage and disengage. We just keep a hand lazily hanging on the wheel and it goes for miles. If you get to know when it thinks you’re going to crash, you can flip it on and off in anticipation. And things like using the right-hand scroll wheel to lower the speed round sharp bends etc makes things comfortable. We knock it off going round cyclists and parked vehicles as well. Guess you’ve read the manual anyway.;) The Supercharger network and Autopilot make long journeys a breeze, and very enjoyable. Oh, and the big screen…we got held up in a stand-still for around 2 hours because of a car and trailer jack-knifed under a lorry, and enjoyed some video entertainment to ease the frustration. Loads of games if you prefer, and Netflix if you’re subscribed. There are definitely reasons why Teslas seem to be everywhere. Have a good trip!
