The part I loved was “There are "2 Billion apple chargers" out the world (these would be USB Type A to Lightning) SO apple advises that there is no need for another charger in the box BUT they do give you a USB Type C to Lightning cable in the box meaning you CAN'T use the chargers currently in circulation as you need a USB Type C charger. This should really help the environment.”

I think their reasoning is that any android user who buys an iPhone is likely to have a USB C charger and if you're already an iPhone user you would use the cable and charger from your last iPhone. Which according to Apple, everyone has lying around. What they don't consider is a lot of people sell or exchange phones to get the new one and usually are required to include the old charger and cable when they sell the phone.
