The best action button shortcut I’ve found is setting up a shortcut to take a screenshot but automatically delete it without saving to your photos. The screenshot automatically copies to your clipboard and then you can paste without having to do any other actions. Seems simple but has been so nice.

Upgraded from an iPhone 8 to iPhone 15 Pro this year. The difference is incredible and it's reassuring to hear that this was a good upgrade year haha. The camera is genuinely mind-blowing and that ending was brilliant. Also, for the action button, I have it mapped to turn on/off color filters so it's black and white -- helps me get off my phone when I know I'm wasting too much time on it lol

That close out “shot on iPhone” was actually pretty surprising, the things we can do with a little device from our pocket. Personally I use the different focal lengths all the time to get something just right, but I can understand someone not using it and just cropping in post.

My comment was more in support of the “things we can do with a little device from our pocket” - obviously it won’t beat dedicated camera gear, but, the quality is fantastic and more than suitable for this type of content. I didn’t notice the quality to the level you are talking about, but that comes down to personal experience and devices you’re using to consume the content. I like that he announced it at the end, rather than the start, that it was shot on the iPhone, quite literally proving the point that for most, the hardware is great!

I appreciate the Porsche 911 comparison so much as a car enthusiast. I’ve only had 4 iPhones (4s, 6s, XR, and now the regular 15), and I genuinely feel like they got it right. I’ll probably use this until the phone dies or by the time the IPhone 20 or something comes out. I can only imagine how good the Pro version of the 15 is, but it’s definitely a good phone to upgrade to if you’re into iPhones. Edit: I hope there’s an Autofocus on the new Porsche as well!

After 3 months of use I can confidently say that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the best iPhone I have ever used. I replace my iPhone every year lol but It doesn't matter if you get a titanium or stainless steel frame, 99% chance that you will need to pay extra to repair back glass 😂

i’ve set up my action button to be a sort of super button with shortcuts in combination with an app called actions. the action button now runs different shortcuts depending on my device’s orientation! holding my phone upright portrait toggles the silent switch, rotate the phone 90 degrees to the left and it opens the camera, rotate the phone upside down portrait and it start music recognition, and finally rotating it once more so the action button is up top opens the camera to take a video.

After losing half a year worth of notes in the stupid notes app because of a syncing bug, I don't trust any of Apple solutions ever again because everything relies on their damn i- services (of course). I love my max themselves, but all of my services are from third parties that I don't have to worry about Apple changes month to month. That was a ton of work notes and a bug lasted for like a year.

​@@mtrps_Depends on the usage. But the 15 Pro has the weakest battery life out of all the 15 models. I saw battery test videos of the vanilla 15 even beating the 15 Pro. The chip uses too much power that the 15 Pro's battery could not keep up. This explains why the vanilla 15 and 15 Plus lasts longer since they use the previous A16 chips. But again, this all depends on your usage.

I upgraded to the 15 pro from an X and I completely agree with your conclusions! I told myself I would not upgrade to the new iPhone until Apple added USB C, and I'm glad I followed through. Different camera modes are silly... just use the 1x and crop in post. Action button was very promising, but the placement isn't ideal (sometimes I briefly confuse it for the volume up, when I'm not looking at it), also different actions on the lockscreen vs homescreen would be a nice improvement. The dynamic island is a nice way to show ongoing notifications; it reminds me of Android's statusbar notification icons. The materials and construction of the phone is beautiful (except the thicc camera bump). I miss the sleekness of the X, but the new one is not too bad for a larger phone.

I’ve found the camera to be one of the better uses of the action button as well. A little tip I’d like to recommend to all: Set the action button to a shortcut, which immediately reads the name of the network your phone is connected to. If the network name matches your Home’s Wi-Fi name, then have it run whatever function you want (I have it set to open my Apple TV remote) If the Network doesn’t match your home network’s name, then have it run another function (I have it set to open camera). Now you have an action button that elicits two functions, one for at home, one for away the house.

Upgraded to the 15 Pro from the 11 Pro and found that it was a leapfrog update, obviously. Overall though, the biggest thing I appreciate is the weight difference. The 15 Pro isn't much less on paper, but it feels insane in my hands. I considered upgrading to a 12 Mini on launch and used it for a month before returning it. I found the screen was unusably small for some tasks. Meanwhile, this 15 Pro reminds me of the 12 Mini. It has a bigger frame, sure... but the way it feels when you move it around reminds me of the Mini. I forget who put it out, but someone pointed out how the weight being removed from the frame of the phone is a big factor. I realized that when I take photos (The time you move the phone around the most) that you're constantly rotating the device and sometimes holding it at awkward angles. This is where I notice the biggest difference.

I’ve upgraded to a 15 pro from an 11, and the much slimmer bezels on the 15 pro makes it so much easier to use one handed. Also, I’ve noticed the power button on the 15 pro is lower down vs the 11, so it naturally falls where I would place my thumb, hence not needing to use the double tap to wake feature as much

Niceee, I actually had an 11 Pro but trialed a 12 Mini back when it launched but decided to return it. I couldn't do the 5.4 inch screen, it felt too puny for some tasks. The 15 Pro feels like a mini-fied version of the standard size iPhone to me. It's only 0.5 oz lighter than 14 Pro and 0.3 oz lighter than the 11 Pro but that weight reduction is all concentrated on the frame. It rotates much nicer and when holding it at awkward angles taking photos it feels way less cumbersome. That stainless steel frame was a joke. But then you have the 88% screen to body ratio 6.1 inch screen which I think is all you need. That Max feels like a damn tablet haha.

@@Bullsnation6 Pro is a brick that takes time to get used to its bulkiness and double the weight when moving from 12 mini. If it wasn’t for a case that my mini got faulty I’d be still using it. Ultimately having 15 mini with USB-C and perhaps 120Hz screen you’d not spend a second considering Pro.

The only drawback or thing that I am struggling to adjust to is the keyboard situation. The predictive text with SwiftKey on Android just seems way better. And there's no "swipe left to delete" feature on SwiftKey on iOS

I’m a two phone person, I use iPhones 15 pro and 15 pro max natural titanium 256gb variants, I can’t agree more with everything said in this video, also amazed that the entire video was shot in the 15 pro. My favourite phone out of the two is the 15 pro, simple because for daily life and one handed use it’s easier to hold and control the phone, but the 15 pro max is amazing because of the bigger screen for watching content like KZbin or Netflix, these phones for me are as perfect as they can be, only thing I would change if I could is to not have the Dynamic Island for more screen real estate.

Gotta say your videos have been the best for making my decision to finally upgrade from my wife’s and my plain iPhone X’s to the 15 Pro for Christmas. What a leap! I’m so glad that 17.2 and then 17.2.1 were released becasue the battery life and heating issues were definitely there with the iOS loaded when we got them. They have been running great since upgrading. Still getting a handle on the camera features. As a 58 year old who’s vision is going down the drain the action button has been relegated to the flashlight. It’s just convenient. Thanks for your great content!👍

I've had my 15 Pro since launch also and I absolutely love it. The past few iPhones we got several highlight features that I had been waiting for (blue color, 120Hz, Dynamic Island etc). This phone has all of those things on top of the new titanium build, USB C, and just feeling in general like the iPhone perfected. I plan to hang onto this one for a while.

Honestly it all seemed like very basic cinema fundamentals. Obviously a third party camera app was used, but besides filming with the iPhone, the process was almost certainly the same as always.

@@HCG Yeah, but that answers every question I didn’t ask tho. Of course lightning is different for every environment, knowing what lights were used gives me an idea of how bright/size I’d need. What adapter(s) to mount the phone on traditional camera equipment. Ive seen some cool MagSafe ones but for motion shots thats not ideal probably. I’d really like to copy the crispy MKBHD Video style so whatever they did to make this video look similar to their typical RED Camera videos id like to know in-depth.

I think the iPhone 15 pro is the turning point where we getting diminishing returns in regards to performance and features. The A17 chip is power house and there isn’t any programs that really bottleneck the chip.

I didn't get the pro but the regular 15 instead, upgrading from iphone 12 and this feels like an actual upgrade.I don't play games or use my camera that much to justify spending the money for 120hz and a 3rd camera that I'm gonna use once per year, they did an excellent job of keeping me in as I was super close to switching to a pixel if usb-c didn't come out this year.

I just recentely switched to an iphone 15 coming from a 15 year android relationship. This is the first iphone I have not wanted to smash within a week. (Had a couple brief stints a few years back that didnt last long). I saw no reason to go for the Pro either. Even going from 120hz (Oneplus 9 Pro) to 60hz wasnt really that bad. Still not 100% confident though. I miss notifications from the android world. And better control of the file system on the phone.

I went from the 12pro to the 14pro max and felt guilty as the battery life was negligible and so was the screen. 13 pro max was the sweet spot. With time I felt better about my decision, and it definitely made the 15pro max not worth the cost as the 14 pro max is way good enough

Matte black 992 Turbo with the blacked out wheels... Absolutely love it. Props to knowing how you use your cars and not getting a GT3 just because. The aerokit front fascia really helps differentiate it from other cars. Haven't seen a whole lot of 992 Turbos with that option.

I have 15 Pro in natural titanium since launch and it's really good phone, upgraded from my XS Max and it's definitely an upgrade, the cameras, crazy good night mode, so good cinematic video, USB C mostly now using with HDMI when traveling, even Dynamic Island with silky smooth animations getting me all day battery with 80% charge limit.. I love it.

My experience with 15 pro 1. Tried the same setup with the action button as him, but didn't even use it for the camera 2. It does heat up sometimes, and so did my 13 mini. 3. I only enjoy the camera because of the 3x zoom, I can't see much difference between the main camera from 13 mini. 4. Speakers are really nice. 5. Even though I consider myself a tech guy, I never used pro res. keep swiping to hide on island ( It can't hide the tethering icon). Bottom line, you will not find it exciting if you are not coming from a 4-year-old device.

I proudly glanced at my iPhone 15Pro. Yeah. After the last iOS 17.2.1 update, no heat issues, camera works even better now and gliding is smooth as silk. Noticed that the Battery quality in this particular model is top notch; it’s still at 100% capacity after 4 months and 4 software updates. It became hands down the best iPhone that I’ve ever owned yet. Pro tips: Only use 20W charger, preferably iPad 20W charger, so that there will be no heat on both iPhone n the adapter. The phone is cold as ice while charging. Only update OS when u have 100% battery n plugged in (trickle charging). Never update on battery; it’s hard on the battery and processor.

My transition was from iPhone 8 Plus to 15 pro and indeed that was most probably the best time to change. About the new button I switch back to silence mode 😮 and for ChatGPT I create a shortcut for Siri. Like this I can speak with ChatGPT in my car. No Porsche but Audi Q3 Sportback. I actually really like the multiple focal lengths feature. I had an iPhone XS before I upgraded to the 15 Pro, and I always took pictures with the telephoto camera because it made the photos look more professional and more like a DSLR. And now with the 15 Pro I can always get the highest focal length possible for whatever picture I wanna take. If I can't get far enough from the subject to use the telephoto lens I can use the 35mm focal length. This feature is really great if you want your pictures to look a *_tiny_* bit more professional.

The 15 Pro Max has been an excellent upgrade for me so far. Got mine on launch day. This is my first time having a Max (though I did have a 7 Plus and went from it to a X). This is the first time my battery ever makes it a full day. I have never run out of battery yet. It’s great. 12 Pro and X and every phone before them all needed multiple rechargings every single day. I had to break the habit of randomly plugging in the charger while at my desk since I no longer need to. I always had to with the old phones because they always needed charge.

Also the “action button” is pretty fun to mess around with. I use it to start Shortcuts and as a programmer I’ve found multiple different ways to make it very useful to me Overall I’m very satisfied with the phone

@@toopred6432 Since the Action Button can trigger 'Shortcuts' it's possible to make the button do complex things. You can for example have it do different things based on certain conditions. I had made it so that it opens the camera app, but if 'Sleep Focus' is activated it sets the media volume to my preferred volume for listening to podcasts while falling asleep and also sets an alarm 7 hours from that time

I've always owned Android. This is my first iPhone. I must say USB-C was the biggest deciding factor. I am quite happy with it. I do miss some things from Android (such as notifications customization), but it really is a nice solid phone.

Yes, it is possible, you can long press on the notification and reply there, perhaps look up a video of it to see if it's good enough for you. I've had it for a week now, and I haven't looked back!
