I know this is a older video. I am doing a 2012 scion iq, and I am using the aswc-1 unfortunately their website will not give me the instructions to hook it up. I have been trying for hours and it will not let me but vehicle information in. Just wondering if you remember which wires you tied into or a copy of the instruction sheet. Thanks.

I don't have a copy anymore, but try calling them 1800-253-TECH

Not sure if this is still needed but I'll drop it here in case anyone else needs it. Connect Black wire of AWSC-1 to Black wire of radio harness. Connect Red wire of AWSC-1 to Red wire of radio harness. Connect Black/Green wire to Pin 8 (light Green wire) on the Scion plug Connect Green/Orange wire to Pin 7 (brownish wire) on the Scion plug Connect Black wire to Pin 6 (light blue wire) on the Scion plug I used positap connectors instead of soldering. I used 18-20s red/black and should've used 20-22s red/grey because the wires are so small it was hard to get the tap pin to pierce the wire instead of pushing it aside. Connect the Aswc-1 3.5mm Jack either directly to your radio if it has an input or wire the solid brown wire from the female jack plug it into your harness SWC wire (I think it was brown on my harness) If you update/program the SWC module by plugging it into your computer I had the best luck with the generic Metra setting to get my $50 chinese android radio to communicate with it.

What kit/harness did you use to connect to your stock harness?
@travislab76874 жыл бұрын
Just the standard Toyota harness (2 plugs) and there's a big rats next of harnesses behind the stock radio that you will unplug to expose the 2 plugs you need

@@travislab7687 Thanks! Did you keep your stock radio and wires to replace if you ever sell your Scion?
@travislab76874 жыл бұрын
@@Gambit4u2 no, that radio was in bad condition, that's why I replaced it...sounded like someone was continuously pushing the eject button, and volume knob was sticky

I am attempting to retro fit this model stereo in my Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix and maybe my Toyota Sienna. I realize a aftermarket would probably be easier.
@travislab76874 жыл бұрын
@@Gambit4u2 yah, I'd just put an aftermarket...it will sound much better and they aren't too pricey now a days..most Toyotas don't even need a dash kit, they just bolt right in...you can check to see if any of those cars require a dash kit. If they happen to use the same one in an IQ, then you know this radio will fit no problem
