Pashto is Eastern Iranian. Dari and persian are both Western iranian and also in the sub branch of south western iranian. So Dari and Persian are very closely related and probably split quite recently

Did you know? While Dari is often considered a variant of Persian, its historical roots are deeply intertwined with the Tajik language spoken in Central Asia. 🗣 Originating from Middle Persian, Dari evolved as a key language in the Persianate world, especially in the region of Afghanistan. It was once known as "Kabul Persian" or "Afghan Persian", and is still closely related to Tajik, the Persian dialect spoken in Tajikistan and parts of Uzbekistan. Historically, Dari served as the literary and administrative language of Afghanistan during various empires, particularly during the Timurid Empire (15th century), which had strong cultural ties to the Tajik-speaking world. The language flourished alongside the works of iconic poets like Jami and Hafez, whose influence helped solidify Dari's place in Persian literature. 🖋 Interestingly, while Dari shares the same roots as Farsi (Iranian Persian), it is Tajik Persian that has preserved many aspects of classical Persian pronunciation and grammar, making it a bridge to the Golden Age of Persian literature. 🌟 Even though Dari and Pashto coexist in Afghanistan, Dari is predominantly spoken by ethnic Tajiks and has a close bond with the Persian-speaking communities of Central Asia. It’s incredible how language reflects not only history but also the deep cultural ties between the peoples of Afghanistan and Tajikistan! ✨ #DariLanguage #TajikCulture #PersianHistory #LinguisticConnections"

They are the same language, back then when in Persia people still talked Middle Persian, We in Balkh and Bukhara started to adopt Middle Persian but mixed it with Sogdian and Bacterian, when both languages had speaker people were calling the New Persian as Dari, and then Dari became more formal in east in Khorasan it took the place of Middle Persian in Persia. When Middle Persian died in Persia by influence of Dari we started to call it Parsi or Farsi which is Persian.

They’re the same language just that Iranian Persian went through a vowel shift while retaining archaic vocabulary and being closer to Older Forms of Persian while the eastern dialects didn’t have this vowel shift and retain older pronunciation, the eastern dialect have been influenced by the local languages when Persian replaced those languages

Guys for god sake they are not the same they both come from middle persian But still different ( dari has a lot of influence from Sogdian and bactrian )
@s1noxios2622 күн бұрын
nah you are incorrect, these two dialects both come from a variant of Persian called Parsi-yi Dari, Dari or Darbari means courtly because this variant was the Persian used in the court and capital of Sassanid Persians, Ctesiphon. we all called it Parsi/Farsi before Pashton and Brits changed it to Dari in Afghanistan and Soviets changed it to Tajik in Tajikistan
@BlueBird-q8k2 күн бұрын
@s1noxios262 i said the same Middle persian is Sassanid Persian
@s1noxios2622 күн бұрын
@@BlueBird-q8k No this was the colloquial version of Middle Persian spoken in the capital , the written version is the one that we know as Middle Persian or Parsig as they called it themselves, for example the word for hosue was khanag in middle Persian and it became khanah or khana in Dari Persian then it stayed as khana in Afghanistan and Tajikistan Persian but it has changed into khane in Iranian Persian or the word for pleasant in Middle Persian is khwash and it says as khwash in Dari Persian but it becomes khush or khoosh in afghanistan Persian and khush in Tajikistan Persian and khosh in Iranian Persian but we Persian people from south of iran still pronunce it as khwash and pronounce the word for shadow as sahg which was sayag in middle persian and sayah in dari persian and saya in afghnistan persian and saye in iranian persian, so all three of iran afghanistan and tajikistans persian come from a single languages called dari persian which itself comes from middle persian just like our persian dialect which comes from middle persian directly

Afghanistan itself is a newly made country by brits , many Persians themselves immigrated to the east after the fall of the Sassanid Persians and many are Persian by blood not just speaker of it , and we kept Persian language alive otherwise everyone wouldve became Arabic Speaker, immigrant persians like Samanids , also Saffarids terrority included some parts of today Afghanisan also harat itself was part of Iran until Qajar and their accent is very close to Mashhads. parthian was not spoken in afghanistan or Tajikistan they were spread across turkmenistan and some part of northern Iran , Semnani Dialect spoken in Iran is from Parthian language.
