Indiana resident here. That was a good day. On March 21, 2022, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed HEA 1296 into law, making Indiana the 24th state to institute constitutional carry. HEA 1296 legalizes both open and concealed carry without a permit for residents and non-residents 18+, effective beginning July 1, 2022

I live in a boarder town in Ohio right beside PA. While I'm extremely happy for most of the people in Ohio. I still need to keep up my ccw for traveling to PA. It wasn't just a few years ago that those states didn't recognize each others permits and I don't think PA will welcome the change for Ohio people traveling in their state now.

@@dudleybrown7030 i'm a legal gun owner myself who current owns 3 guns (currently planning on getting a 4th one soon) as we speak, and has a license to carry, because I like to target shoot as well as collect (main reason was for Self-Defense too). But with that said, if PA passes a similar constitutional carry law like Ohio, I might support it (but one has to give me a damn good reason beforehand), as I strongly believe that law-abiding citizens (myself included) should be able to carry weapons. I might somewhat disagree when it comes to the "open carry" portion (as one wants to have the element-of-surprise when stopping a robbery), but having a license on-hand will definitely help the cops in identifying you as a legal carrier. while i'm all for innocent people carrying guns to protect themselves, the thing I disagree with, is not needing a permit to carry, and there's a reason for this.......... at least if you're a licensed gun carrier/owner, if you can prove your case and have witnesses to back you up (especially if it's a justified Self-Defense shooting), it'll be a big help

Read on US 18 § 241 and 242. "Conspiracy Against Rights" and "Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law" respectively. 241 says it's illegal to work with others to conspire against against rights. Anti gun groups, politicians, ATF, all guilty of this. 242 is clear by title. Every cop who has ever enforced gun control where the "crime" is possession of a weapon, they're guilty of breaking this law. Both have serious punishments. Up to the death penalty. I'm not even sure why we don't have Constitutional Carry here in Florida seeing as how you can already drive around with a loaded handgun in your glovebox or center console (as long as it has a latching door or closes in some similar fashion) without a CCW. So Constitutional Carry would have no affect on officer safety at least as far as traffic stops go, which is where the biggest risk to officers is.

The best thing my state has is the WVCDL that has worked tirelessly to hold our politicians accountable for gun rights. We've managed to get people elected, make people lose elections, and have worked hard to improve our rights in the state of Wesr Virginia. You have to be real active. For a grassroots group, the West Virginia Citizens Defense League has done a lot. Most recently, we passed a law that makes it legal to have a loaded long gun in your vehicle, clearing up the outdated poaching laws in our state. Last year we got the non-comandeering act (second amendment sanctuary law) and before that, we heavily strengthened our preemption laws. 2016 saw the CDL push heavily to get our constitutional carry laws. Next up is campus carry and Capitol carry. If your state has a similar volunteer organization, help them out. Give them help, strengthen that group, and if you do, you can get work done.
