The model is PERFECT! I wish they hadn't sold out so quickly. One quibble, and it's about the magazine- the nuclear missile launch tubes are the big hatches amidship. They certainly aren't in the snakehead. But who cares?!?!? The model looks awesome! PS: I just got the MKI Viper today and it is a work of art.

I have the prefinished Mobius Galactica and Pegasus models, which are larger and better detailed. But I'm getting this series because I've been wanting a Cylon Basestar to scale with it. I'm hoping they do the classic 1978 ships too.

Battle star.Armadillo . On the new series the launch bay extended and retracted from the main hull when it was time to launch the Vipers. On the old series, the launch bays were extended from the main hull.

It's a damn shame that the bay arms don't retract. Hasbro did it for their 6" and 3" versions, so there's no excuse.

Also I prefer the solid plastic flight pods on the EM model the hasbro versions had bendy vinyl flight pods that flopped around.

Короче напишу на своем языке ) В начале скажу спасибо вам за обзоры) Отличное качество (смотрю их 4 года) Что до модели Галактики то она хоть и выглядит отлично, но все таки меня расстроил небольшой вес модели. Много пластика и очень мала метала в ней. Особенно сильно разница в весе и материале бросается когда сравниваешь Battlestar Galactica с Viper Mark II .

I have several ships from the Galactica series from Eaglemoss. The only negative for me is the stands. Why do they put the names of the ship on the bottom of the stand instead of the top? Or at least provide a sticker so people can choose to put the name on the stand or not.

What purpose is the trench? Seems like a mechanism to extend the guns (and absorb any recoil) would be unnecessarily complex...

@@Name-ps9fx it is to increase FTL jump accuracy. No one knows how their FTL works or why Galactica has to retract her flight pods before a jump but there is some aerodynamic component to it

It's more like the XL collection, as they're all larger models so I think they're going to be doing fewer of them but spending more time on them. Trek has hundreds of ships to choose from, not quite so varied in BSG though there are still quite a lot. I'd imagine we'll get to see Colonial One soon enough.

As great and as detailed as the Moebius Battlestar Galactica model kit is, Eaglemoss have the edge on them when it comes to the interior where the pods sit in, the Moebius version is just blank, where Eaglemoss put some decent detail in there.
