Today ...it could be done..id just love to know what are going to be used as the enemy aircraft in TopGun 2...any ideas ...

I used to fly with the Visual Effect coordinator on this movie. He told me crazy stories of them filming in Israel, getting aerial footage from the back of F-16's and F-4's. The Iron Eagle movies come under the heading 'so bad they are good' - remember seeing this one when it came out on video and laughing at F-4s being called MiGs. Mind you, if you think this is bad, wait until you get to No 3 - Christopher Cazenove playing the suave Brit hanging out of a Spitfire cockpit with a shotgun, rocket boosters on a P38 and the most hilarious German Wunderwaffe you have ever seen. Worth drinking before watching. Agree with a lot of the guys on here, you have to do The Final Countdown if only for the F14 vs Zero segment

Who's there? Too Wide! Too Wide Who? Two ....... why'd you let us over-G into Soviet Airspace before engaging with them?! Ahh you beat me to it with the Darkstar! I guess it must be next to impossible to pull up when you've been using your stick as a throttle, and even harder when you cut the throttle pulling up. Only Vipers I saw with that throttle config came out of a Battlestar! "Violated his airspace" ….. is that a So To Speak ? …. Oh my god they keep getting worse! I would be curious to your take on Stargate: Continuum's F-15 scene, though not sure if you'll get a full video out of it. I guess you could try to cram in some series details as I understand the Air Force took particular interest in this franchise. I definitely had Stargate's Kinsey in mind when I was reading your Kerry Johnson character. I mean you denied flat earth, chemtrails and aliens but I never heard you once deny the Stargate program exists. That's gotta mean it exists ….. right? .... huh? One more thought amidst this pulp of "idiot thinks aloud", and I wanna straighten up the face a bit before I say it : I just wanted to send some sincerely good thoughts on this Veteran's / Remembrance day. Here's to you and your awesome mates, especially the ones we'll never get the honour to see or hear from.

I remember I was in shock as a kid after I found out, that these MiG's were F-4's from the U.S. ... I needed to get used to it for a long time. I mainly watched this movie for the visuals back in the day (while playing Interceptor on AMIGA because it had the Hornet and the Viper as well).

This one made me laugh the most out of all your "Mover Ruins Movies" I've watched! I never served but I still pick up on a bit more than half of what you did and I do that all the danged time. Being a pilot has ruined a bunch of movies for me. If we ever get the chance to meet in person, I promise I'll try to remember to say, "Can I ask you a stupid question?"

It also doesn't help that the F14 is at least 9 billion times sexier than the F16.

Great review Sir! A little bit info on this movie, (Great one!) This movie was filmed at Ramat David airbase Israel. Those F-4s was belonged to squadron 69th "The Hammers", since 1998 they moved to the south and their operating F-15I (It's an F-15E with homemade modifications). Those F-16s was belonged to squadron 110th "Knights of The North", The squadron was deactivated in 2017.
