I have been plant based ever since I started watching your videos and my primary care doctor, my internist and my pharmacist have all confirmed the information. Because I used to weight 410 pounds, had diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, plus asthma, the VA set up a health plan for me and they check my status every 4 to 5 months. Now 6 years later and I’m a healthy 195 pounds. Keep the information coming Doctor.

You have such great videos! I do want to say that as a Christian, God put all the nutrients we need, including iron, into and on the earth. God made all that he did and said it was good.

I recently had my ferritin tested for the first time and it is 5. II am experiencing many symptoms of low iron. I already eat an iron rich diet with both red meat and many plant based options. What iron supplement would you recommend? I'm a 42 yr old female.

Eggplant is high in iron. I did not know lentils were high in iron. There are some people with hemochromatosis that should avoid excess vitamin c and iron. This was very interesting. I am WFPB and was convinced by Dr. T. Collin Campbell’s longitudinal study and book, The China Study. It showed benefits in the long run of plant based Whole Foods eating on health.

I was just diagnosed with polycythemia. Do you have any suggestions on what foods to eat and not eat? I am not big on meat, but I was surprised to find that some of my staples are iron rich, i.e. Chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, garbanzo beans and soy.😩

Please tell me why does every other dr. on You tube say, there are anti nutrients in beans & lentils. I am so very confused. I don’t have low iron or vitamin B vitamins. Actually they are above optimal.

For instant pot users, is soaking your beans still recommended? Is hummus high in iron? Any good recipes for instant pot hummus?

I soak my beans even if I'm cooking them in the instant pot. If you don't there's no other time to get the phytic acid, etc out of your beans. The toxins will still be in the beans. Alternatively, you could quick soak them in the instant pot. Pour out that water and then start over with fresh water.

Hey doc, i’m trying to increase my protein with some plant-based items . I’ve been eating tofu, but I keep hearing men shouldn’t eat too much soy because it acts like estrogen? I’m curious what you had to say on the matter.
