The skill tree looks way more complicated than it actually is. Every class uses the same tree and depending on the path you'll get different skills based on those classes standard builds. So the path you start on as the Monk will have things that benefit your standard builds and if you just focus on that direction you'll be good. The more specialized builds will make use of things farther away depending on how they build.

I've gotten 5 characters through the campaign and warrior by far the slowest and worst, I suggest if anyone levels a warrior build around shockwave totems, getting all the extra totems and just respec after campaign into what you really want or keep going totems. Also I've seen people level with monk abilities and a unique that gets around the dex requirements and it's so much better.
@ItsJustTeddingtonАй бұрын
Warrior is jacked, but relies on skill combinations the most. A typical player would expect to just go unga bunga with a weapon, but a good non-totem warrior needs a decent amount of skill and attack speed, plus a combination of using stuns, warcries and your main damage skill. Then you see a lightning monk just hold down left click(drop bell occasionally) and clear maps with their brain turned off, or a watch just casually floating along. spamming sparks while everything dies around her. I still enjoy playing the warrior(both totem and slam playstyles) the most, since he's the most PoE 2 class of the bunch.
@sharkh20Ай бұрын

Still, in spite of the jank, GGG are tuning the hell out of it, and it still feels awesome as hell. Edit: Warning for anyone interested in the Early Access, they haven't added all the base classes, every class will have 3 ascendencies, and there's entire weapon types and skills missing from the Early Access. That's the sort of thing you would find on a Unique rarity item in PoE (there's a helm that gives you a 50% chance to survive hits that would kill you for instance). They tend to keep mechanics like that very much opt-in, and getting one shot is a good as any way to teach players DON'T NEGLECT DEFENSES! Glass canon may be technically softcore viable, but you'll be pretty frustrated by all the lost time reviving at checkpoints and losing progress in the endgame.
@redaffix7320Ай бұрын
@@Flamewarden_Honoushugoshin I was thinking more of an ascendancy class skill that stops all damage that deals more than 90% of your life/es pool once every 30 seconds, only enabling again after regaining 100% life, and doubles regen for 4 seconds, or something similar. I do agree that defenses are extremely important early on, but that's also when it's hardest to shore them up effectively.

So for those curious about monetization I don't know exactly how it's in PoE 2 but I do know how it is in PoE 1 and I don't think there's any outrageous change or else I'd have heard about it: - PoE 1 has mostly cosmetic microtransactions but there are stash tabs that you can buy to get more space in your personal storage. - They also make organising stuff easier cause there's separate stash tabs for specific things (like a tab specifically for currency, a tab for divination cards, a tab for essences etc.). These are also sold separately. - You technically don't have to buy them but realistically if you want to play a bunch you probably want at least a couple. - Most of them are not super expensive (mostly $4 per tab with some being more expensive) and personally I think it's a fair price for what PoE can offer but if you want to be completely f2p you're not gonna have a lot of space for stuff. - I also heard stuff you bought in PoE 1 transfers over to PoE 2.

This video really highlights why people enjoy it. There is a lot of old PoE1 fans being hypercritical of the game like it's going to die. But what they say and what is shown here does not match. They forget their game is over a decade of development and when PoE2 gets the same treatment it could easily become one of the best games around.

Poe1 players just miss looking up a guide and the game playing itself. Personally loving Poe2 so far as some one who could never get into the first game.
@studentt6064Ай бұрын
There's a lot of people in poe1 that basically want the game to be a 1 button everything dies click fest and nothing else lol. I remember when ascendencies were added in poe1 years back they added some tile sets with traps and I think even years after some people were still complaining that it "did not fit the game" lol.
@Vartazian360Ай бұрын
Playing with a group makes this game exponentially easier because the agro is not always on you. The game is awesome. Never played ARPG in my life. On Act 2 Cruel and loving it (stormweaver sorc) but there are DEFINITELY balance issues and loot problems that need to be fixed. I have faith that the devs will address them over the next few months though. The game itself is great, it just needs to be tweaked to reach its full potential. Loot drops are so unbelievably random that you can play 15 hours and not find something that gives you an advantage at all. IE High spell damage staff + Skill level boost, or not getting items with stats that are just completely useless for your build. And they dont have the campaign enemies dropping enough exalted orbs to allow you to improve the rares you do find..And everyone just ends up stalking up on them and trading with them rather than actually using them for their intended purpose. In addition to this, some bosses / mechanics are EXTREMELY overtuned to the point of frustration: Trials of Chaos The seer boss I am looking at you. Warrior is very under powered at first (but ends up being able to do ridiculous 1 shots on bosses in endgame). That being said, what they have created here is amazing as a base, and most of the issues with the game can be addressed in balance patches.

is there a catch? free 6 acts souls like with a huge skill tree and the ability to co-op, this game honestly sounds too good to be true for when it releases.
@SpotifistАй бұрын
The catch is you only get 4(?) ”tabs” to hold your loot by default. To trade/play the game efficiently with other players you want more tabs, roughly 30$ worth. You get that by paying to play the EA. It’s perfectly playable without extra tabs though.

I put more hours into PoE the first in a year and a half than I've put into some games over a decade, and I'm loving PoE2. It takes a bit of adjustment even when you're used to the way the first game worked, but it's still got that sense of continuous character improvement and blasting through entire screens of enemies feels better than ever. There's some aspects that cause me some friction, especially in the postgame, but it's still leaps and bounds above the quality of any other ARPG I've played, and they only actually released _half_ of it!!!

The state of the game balance rn is not great, especially for melee class. And yet GGG is already nerfing a lot of builds while respecing is expensive. Also not a fan of the "one hit kill" mechanic for the tougher bosses, mainly for single player. I mean yeah once we've seen it once then it's fine, but it means for cheap deaths. The best example is the Rudja boss- when she can one hit you despite you are a melee class and having more health then casters, then you'd see why so many players complain. I'm still playing it tho, but the game needs more balancing.

I always thought Diablo should go into the Soulslike direction. While Diablo 4 also has more "interactive" boss fights with wind up attacks and environmental dangers, PoE2 just looks so much better. The art style is gritty and dark, and the slower tempo of the combat just makes everything look more epic and allows for bigger bosses with more telegraphed attacks.
@wiseferret4745Ай бұрын
I've noticed some Berserk references too. The first act boss, Count Geonor, literally turns into the Beast Of Darkness, and Una summons a bunch of fairy spirits to clear away some branches, which is a lot like Schierke's sylph sword and cloak.

Was fun seeing the stuff you gravitated to with Monk because my playing has been SUPER different, I went super hard on lightning and critical, and have way more INT than DEX because I'm dipping quite a bit into Elemental abilities like lightning warp to quickly mass shock enemies and siphon them for my power charges, and gave the big lightning cone AOE a 10 second cooldown for +40% damage. It's a very set them up and knock them down build with a ton of burst and I've really enjoyed it, and it feels very much like I came up with it as I went which feels really cool
