Diablo 1 should be remastered simply because it’s the only game that’s not widely available to everybody. We all have access to D2-4 on all platforms but not D1. And because D1 started it at all you know. We wouldn’t be here now playing and talking about Diablo if it wasn’t for D1. I’ve seen playthrough’s but i’ve never played it myself. I would love to experience D1 for myself

I had a casual chat outside of a restroom with a Blizzard employee back at Blizzcon 2017. My friend and I were disappointed that there was nothing Diablo related at the event and we told them we'd really like a Diablo announcement. They asked what we'd want to hear. My friend said a D2 remaster. I said D1. They said, "We did the anniversary event in D3 already. Wasn't that good enough?" And I said, "NO!" I shocked myself with my enthusiasm, and thankfully they chuckled. This was before D1 was added to GOG. When that news came out, I thought that was as good as it was ever going to get! I snagged it right away, even though I already have discs for D1 and Hellfire in my closet. A D1 remaster would be a dream come true.

That D1 event in D3 was such a slap in the face. It was a travesty, a blasphemy, a JOKE! It was there only for a limited time, the thing was over in 5 minutes and the "labyrinth" was fucking *CORRIDORS*. I quit D3 after that. It was an insult to D1 and all its fans and I hate whoever did that. oh yeah even the "reward" was actually a cursed object that would kill you when you fought monsters by stunning you at random times

"How did we play games in 1994?" Well, as someone who was in high school in that year... the arrow keys were actually, you know, arrow keys. As for Warcraft, it's just like any other. Select your units and click to move. As for a Diablo? That was a game I received for my birthday. I spent many many hours playing. Aaaand, as for games "shutting down", no... If a company is gonna put out a game, they absolutely should provide some means for players to keep playing the game. This idea that we're merely purchasing licenses that can be revoked at any time rather than software is a real problem that should've been stamped out when companies first started doing it. Instead, we let them, the law lets them, and we're paying the price by losing access to games we want to play, whether they're ten weeks old or ten years old. If I can play a game from the early 90s (that were purchased directly from the autho, in most cases!) in DOSbox, surely these assholes can provide a means to keep playing The Crew, Assassin's Creed, and a bevy of other old titles.

I am a huge Diablo 1 fan, and I enjoyed Hellfire, too. You could edit a file to add a few extra hidden classes too!! It would be nice if they were added to D1 if there is going to be a remaster. A cool thing thing bliz could do is not turn it into online game with a massive price tag, quality of life updates such as a stash, a run function, auto gold pickup, and gold not taking up inventory slots. Add some minor advantages to each class in addition their starting stats to make them unique in their own way in addition to being able to use every spell in the game from Tomes.

I LOVE roguelike games, so a combination roguelike D1 remaster would actually be totally dope to me. Like revisit the same places and same story but with a new coat of paint and reinterpreted gameplay. The story itself would be incredibly short so adding a layer of replayability with the roguelike elements sounds like a better way to give it a reasonable pricepoint.

D1 is technically an old school roguelike 😅 The game is based on Angband. It's why staves have charges, damage to demons, damage to undead, light radius etc.

Diablo 1 remaster with source refactored to make it extremely modular and allow official modding support. I would love to add content easily to the original and not rely on janky methods. Adding 100 new items? Modify enemy stats? Add new stats? Add 100 new levels? Add new bosses? If I have that option, we can truly make Diablo 1 what was it was meant to be. But please blizzard, keep the core game in tact... Let the players fix it, or allow them to.

@Rhykker On a Blizzard Diablo Twitch stream long time ago, I mentioned that it would be awesome if they could make Diablo 1 & 2 inside Diablo 3 so people would be able to play the storymode all the way through Diablo 1, 2 and 3 with the same character in one go. And in addition it would be AWESOME if they would add all the various characters from the previous games. "Fighter Class specialized as Barbarian or Warrior". Assassin as Monk or Assassin specializartions etc. And of course for all the other classes as well where you can make specializations and basically have 14? different specialized classes based on 7? main classes.

You can kind of attack move in WC2 with the patrol command the main problem is that you move back to the initial position after reaching your destination so if you aren't actively controlling the units they'll keep moving back and forth and into potential danger.

I'm all for it. Especially since the first D1 only meshes through retconning off of D2 and subsequent Diablo entries adding to the events. I vote Yes and did you know you can get Diablo 1 for your mobile device I've got Diablo 1 on my cell phone you can play it on your tablet too but the servers are all merge onto one so you can be playing with somebody who's on a computer while you're on your phone or you could be playing with yourself. Jillian is a stash spot so you can throw your items in there it's like 12 pages long because when you die all your items drop on the ground so this gives you a chance to re gear.

I emulate ps1 version of diablo 1 on jailbroken ps4. It's absolutely the best version and can be played co-op on couch. If they remaster it, it will probably be a pc version ported to consoles. So in order to play in co-op, you'll have to buy the game twice.

if they remaster it, it needs to have good mod support, and they absolutely must add all the cut content. the cut content is a must because the game will feel too barebones for most players if it isnt put in the game, and mod support is needed because d1 is simply just not as replayable as future installments, so mods will allow it to be played for as long as players want.

I wish they would show offers in the shop for all classes. I feel like I would be inclined to buy something if I could see more offers for other classes, but I just see stuff for the class I play most. Do we have to relog into another character just to see more offers? The shop should have all items all the time as well. I don't see the point in an unavailable shop or a rotating shop. I would've bought a Sorc skin a month ago if it was on the rotation, but seems I have to log in with the right character at the right time just to get this hidden shop sidequest.

His idea for playing through Diablo 1 has literally been my idea for years, except I don't want it in D4 - I want it to be an end-game event in D2R. Collect keys or whatever to unlock a portal to Old Tristram and you run through D1's original 16 dungeons. Make it something where you have to be clvl 95 - or even 99 to be able to open up - that way it gives some of the more casual players more incentive to reach those higher character lvls. When Blizzard 1st announced D2R I thought of the idea of including D1's dungeons as sort of a D2 version of D3's Rifts, but then my idea evolved into making it an endgame event for extremely high lvl characters. I know Blizzard would never do anything that cool, so my secondary idea for D1 content being added to D2R is make a 2nd Pandemonium event where you fight Uber versions of some of the bosses from D1 - the Butcher, the Skeleton King, Diablo...But instead of the destroyed version of Tristram it takes place in D1's Tristram.

What gets me in WC1 is the inability to edge scroll. There's an unofficial "patch" that converts some mouse movments but it runs in windows, so not viable for bare metal retro DOS rigs.

The idea of D1 as a D4 event is cool but i would still want a D1 remaster/remake, since both games play very different. Also, i would like it to include Hellfire and the other characters (apart from the 3 basic ones). Hellfire quests arn't great but the dungeon is very nice. The Hell 3 mod integrates all very well and add many floors and quests to the game.

Yes, what I want and D franchise need is a gameplay like D1, 15 levels or more underground of the Cathedral with level of difficulty incremental, more monster variety, the manual assigning points to the class attribute again, more cinematics, could be every 5 levels of deep underground, all of these will save Diablo again. I just checked out the WC 1 and 2 remaster...it blows me away that they don't just make all of their old RTSs in the Starcraft 2 engine. They should remake Diablo 1 as a modern Dark-Souls game. Its a perfect fit. Diablo 1 is the original Souls game. Bosses were a nightmare in Diablo 1 in 1996, it was a survival gothic game like the dark souls games are. I know cause i played both games at their release.

I love the boost idea! Why try to enjoy the levelling process? Do you think they have plans to return integrity to their game and start respecting it again?
