Well, when she says, "thats just what i think" it kind of sounds more like that's just what she thinks. I've taken Ag1 consecutively for about 3 months and warts on my fingers have nearly completely disappeared so i wouldn't say it's a total hogwash and with any type of supplement like these, you should never trump them over the real thing.

I have been taking AG1 for months because Peter Attia. Andrew Huberman, Joe Rogan, Rangan Chatterjee, and many others promoted it. I read the label and kept questioning how this product and ingredients could possibly be so good. But i trusted them. However, lately i've wondered if been suckered and been a victim to marketing even by people with huge followings and credentials. But i've always appreciated Rhonda Patricks honest assessments, research, and evaluations and SO THANKFUL for sharing her opinions on AG1! @@alexanderwindh4830 I've never taken any supplement "for the experience". I doubt those millionaire busy people would take it for the experience either, on the contrary, they're the type of people who want their daily things done fast and easy. Even in skincare, they got Dr. Dray, who is famous for calling out expensive useless skincare products by teaching people to focus on the ingredients and not the fancy expensive bottles. Someone like Tim Ferris is too smart and productivity driven to think of supplements as an experience that are just wasting his time. Yet, they're both bought by them. Unbelievable and frustrating. I can only imagine the high amount of money $$$ they pay for each sponsored video from these famous people. It's so depressing. WHO CAN WE REALLY TRUST? Now they changed the name to AG1 to sound more techy or advanced. Probably Athletic Greens started to sound cheap, because it is. I actually prefer it being plastic as I take it always with me when travelling, plastic is lighter and in a backpack or suitcase it won't break as easily, which is really important for me. But I understand the point being made, they could at least give the consumers a choice between glass and plastic, I don't think it would break the bank for them.
@artinweddings
@artinweddings 6 ай бұрын
@@plavi222 the problem is this plastic is made from polycarbonate or something similar, they will often say things like BPA free, which makes people feel good. What they don't know is the BPA has been replaced with another chemical called BPS which is worse. What does this tell you? It tells you they care more about money and marketing than actually doing something good. Plastics in general are not good for food containers especially if reused over and over or allowed to be in the sun. There are some exceptions that are relatively safe such as polypropylene, but that's not what this bottle is made of.

For me the number one reason for taking AG1 (beyond it being a good multivitamin alternative) is psychological. I work out very early in the morning, and taking AG1 after I wake up and before my workout just puts me on a good path for the rest of the day, it sets me up nicely. I usually couple AG1 with a healthy dose of creatine. I realize that it's an expensive multivitamin, but somehow sipping on this green drink early in the morning satisfies me a lot more than having a multivitamin pill. It also helps to reduce any early morning cravings I might have due to working out fasted, on an empty stomach. btw, I work out fasted because my trainings are very early and i find that having a solid pre-workout meal just doesn't sit right with me, probably due to very short amount of time ti digest it. So i feel better with only a drink beforehand. Again, AG1 is not a miracle greens superfood gut healing drink, I know that, but it really does put me in a good psychological head-state already early in the morning and so it makes it easer to make the right healthy choices later in the day.

Thanks for pulling back the curtain on AG1. For years now we’ve been subjected to influencers telling us how great they are and how we could benefit from them for about $100 a month when a decent multi vitamin for 50 cents a day and eating a salad would do just as well or better. This is a cautionary tale about companies that pay influencers in order to sell us grossly overpriced products while they all clean up unsuspecting consumers.

I agree with this. I use green powder as nothing more than a fortification for a daily green smoothie that I make. I get a nice quality cold pressed green juice, mix in the green powder, add spirulina powder, a splash of prune juice, a ginger shot, a banana, ice, and a touch of agave sweetener. I blend it all up and have a cup of this every day and it’s really helped my energy levels and digestion. When I had the green powder mixed with water alone-its effects were marginal for me.

thanks for talking about AG1, as most people/influencers promoting it have just jumped on the band wagon. As with a lot of powdered 'superfoods', it contains a high level of lead (2,200+ ppb lead for an average daily serving). Although it might be within the 'legal' daily lead limit (there is NO safe level of lead in the human body), I would never take it for this reason alone. Plus, the last time I checked, very few of AG1 ingredients are organic. There are so many other powdered green brands out there that ARE 100% organic and less expensive - they just don't have the internet hype behind them.

That's great to hear about your recovery and symptomatic relief. I hope you've found some kind of fundamental connection there to leverage. But i will say - without having taken it myself - ONE look at the ingredients list told me that the cordyceps included was a GREAT (and smart) way for them to make pretty much everyone feel that great cordyceps energy bump - it's wonderful and palpable, and something I'll always consider to be in my top 3 ever 'supplements'... which means it can be (and is, I've definitely noted now, several times) trickily used to make otherwise non-dramatically/less-dramatically impactful supplements (like AG1) seem to be an almost magical 'REAL deal.' Buy some cordyceps separately... and put that to the test? But certainly it sounds like AG1's ingredients affected you in meaningful ways - WHATEVER the hell it was. 👍

The issue with this clip is it doesn’t ask the right question. We know it’s a multivitamin, and we know it doesn’t give you greens. The question should be: how does it compare to a pill multivitamin? The answer for me is: It’s worked better - when I do take AG1 in the morning, it enhances mental clarity (often noticeably) for a portion of the day, and I don’t need to take food with it (unlike how One-A-Day is recommended, for example). Obviously, not a scientific study, but it’s my consistent experience. We should really be helping people make life choices that work, not giving them snippets of info that don’t actually help

She is absolutely right; it's exactly that. It's not particularly effective as a greens supplement, which was my initial reason for buying it. It's mainly beneficial when you're traveling without your vitamins and need something to balance your vitamin intake. Aside from providing vitamins, I don't see any other benefits. Given the price and quality, I think you can do without it if you don't want to spend so much. I've taken it for a month and haven't noticed any special effects beyond what is claimed. It's essentially fancy water that provides vitamins, but you still need to take your regular vitamins to meet your nutritional needs. It’s great for hydration and post-workout recovery, much like highly effective water. However, you could achieve the same results by drinking coconut water and taking electrolytes for much less. This product is convenient for travel because you can pack the powder and add it to your water. So if you buy it just buy the bag of powder and cancel the subscription. The bag of powder you can use for your travel and workouts, daily intake of drinking water. So it’ll last for months & you wouldn’t have to buy more than twice for the year. Overall, I was disappointed that all these influencers were claiming all these great results. When I saw no benefits other than hydration and feeling good drinking first thing in the morning. And this coming from someone who works out and eats healthy.

Dr. Peter Attia is a heavy investor in AG1 - he is not a disinterested party - though he's made his affiliation known.

I had a lot of respect for you before you did this video but now, great work. People respect, uncompromising people, especially when they’re in a role of influence. Most don’t see it as a role of responsibility and will justify their ebb and flow of that responsibility to make money.

Huberman in one sentence talks about how important it is to CHEW your food for a multitude of reasons. Then he will run an ad saying you can just drink your food and save time with AG. Brilliant. Rhonda is straight up giving facts, she isn't paid to push things. This is why I listen to her and she has credibility.

I suppose it's easy to preserve, that's ostensibly the sole advantage. Ersatz pulverized, dehydrated won't cut it. It also doesn't have the meaningful concentrated properties. Overpriced ?..yes, they can market anything.

Love this! I had someone tell me I should start taking this supplement to help with my “microbiome” because his sister is a nurse practitioner and told him it could help. 10 second google research will debunk that real quick

I don’t use AG1 as I find it way too expensive for what you get. But they’ve never made the claim that it’s a replacement. It says supplement on the bag. Meaning, it’s meant to supplement the greens that you already eat on a daily basis. As Dr. Patrick stated, like a multivitamin.

THANK YOU!!!! its so important to tell it like it is. And, we all kinda knew that this is like it is - an expensive multivitamin. I have really wrestled with AG1 like supplements - should I buy? Because its hard for me to get enough variety in fresh vegetables, and I understand that variety is important. But you can buy a LOT of vegetables for a month's worth of AG1 and I really get the idea now that these are miniscule amounts and in powder form - can't be as good as fresh. That would be useful to address additionally - is there a blunting of nutritional benefit when we convert fresh foods to powder form - it makes sense that that would be true but of course I don't know.

AG1 has the pre/probiotics + superfood blends + vitamins/micronutrients that would still be the same price or more of you bought them separately. If the amounts are minuscule, what is the appropriate dosage? Also, can you take electrolyte powder with AG1 in the morning?
