The problem with your scenario is that when the turn comes and BTC is down 40% in 2 trading days/daze and Coinbase locks you out of your account because everyone is heading for the exits at the same time, you'll be crying "Manipulation!!" like an AMC Ape who bought AMC at $40/sh only to get locked out by Robinhood when it was down 50% in 5 minutes.

Can a ponzi scheme be called a bubble? I don't think it can, the mechanism is different. A bubble is something that has a definite value that for whatever reason became super inflated. There must be a belief that value created by bubble companies would grow through the roof justifying the valuations. A ponzi scheme on the other hand has no value, when it collapses it's game over, the price goes to zero. With a bubble you can make reasonable judgement how much the narrative of super earnings is overblown. With ponzi scheme, it's a religious thing - bitcoin at $1 and bitcoin at $1 mln are equally infinitely overpriced, it doesn't lend to reasonable valuation.

Thx Jason. I find it always very difficult to make the point that something which has no revenue and no earnings is in a bubble. Bitcoin could be 100.000, 1.000.000 or whatever, it doesn't make up a bubble if you don't have a revenue or earnings yield to compare it, risk adjusted to other assets. But one could make the point of how fast it's going up, first and second derivative ... Waiting for a strong news failure may be the only method to know if this thing is going to go down yes.

It was set up as a short according to my process. You are looking at data from an absolute level. I index the data and compare the positioning with a specific lookback period.

I think the problem is that no one is interested in btc anymore. Now that it has received so much adoption and acceptance as a legitimate store of value, and governments are getting involved, the mystique is gone. The ETF may have been the worst thing that could have happened to Bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts in the long run. I still don't understand what gives cryptocurrencies their "value". For a company you can analyze their financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and compare them to their peers to arrive at a "fair value" for a stock price. I guess it's the "greater fool" theory (and hope) that someone will come along and pay a higher price than what you paid for it.

TA is good but I find it truly baffling that all major crypto youtubers just look at pure T.A and completely Ignore the bigger narrative of why BTC Is pumping and why the future outlook might not be as rosy as it seems.
