I've noticed that once the QB consistently gets badly rattled due to bad offensive line play, he starts to not see the field very well and rushes things or drops his eyes and looks for a running lane to escape! This is what happened to Justin Fields and now it's happening to Caleb all because Ryan Poles thinks he's a genius at finding linemen! I've noticed that the Bears O-line not only is terrible as a whole at blocking for the most part but has troubles understanding their entire assignment whenever the defense stunts or does an exotic blitz. They are confused as to what they are supposed to do when something unexpected happens based on a pre-snap call! The 2 guards look so lost most of the time unless it's just a 4-man straight up rush! This O-line coach does a terrible job ensuring they know what to do in all cases! It's mind boggling to see at this level of football!

Caleb has taken alot of unnecessary sacks this yr but this game was not one of them. The protection + the schemes are so bad!!!! Every sack for the last 4-5 games ive been looking trying to see if there was anyone open he could have gone too....this whole game was NO. Caleb needs to get better for sure...and he will....but majority of this teams problems are the offensive line, bad coaching, bad play calling, not working on hot routes vs blitz, and not being on the same page (which again falls on coaching)..
@brotherjongrey937515 сағат бұрын
The narrative is that he has taken a lot of unnecessary sacks. The reality is that we have had a shitty line and a shitty scheme and he has been making it look better by extending plays (like that throw to Keenan allen) Sometimes, he won't be able to overcome our problems on 3rd down when he extends the play but we sure as shot want him to keep trying

What I learned a long time ago is to never bet on the Bears to win anything. Caleb needs a good head coach and a good O-Coordinator then some line help and he will be a star. The Bears need to draft and go into free agency and get all the O-linemen and D-linemen they can get. They need to get 2 guards and a Center then some edge help and a DT. They need to get a Safety to replace Brisker. They need a 3 down brawler of a back.

Eh, Jayden Daniels came in NFL-ready from a mental/maturity standpoint. Physically, QBs like Jayden and Caleb have the tools to do anything on the field but that's only half the game. It's clear Jayden's mind is more adept at reading defenses (before and after the snap), making anticipatory throws trusting his receivers to be where he places the ball, and has better pocket awareness to slide from the pressure. He sees the same blitzes and goes through the same o-line breakdowns as Caleb. The difference is Jayden makes his offensive line look a lot better than what they are because his reads/decisions are quick and he gets rid of the ball fast. And even when his pocket breaks down, and it does often, his ability to escape is better than anyone not named Lamar Jackson and he's made plays where it would be a sack for 95% of the other QBs in the league. Mentally Caleb is not there yet.

This is one of those games where stats are misleading, 16 of 28, 12 incompletions looks like an accuracy issue except that .... 5 of those incompletions were throwaways that were intentionally thrown OB because of pressure. 3 incompletions hit the receivers in the hands, Odunze over the middle, Allen on the right side, DJ on a hurried screen 1 incompletion was caught but OB 1 incompletion was a miscommunication with Odunze, he thought Rome would keep going, Rome settled down in the zone There were only 2 clear incompletions. I don't think Caleb is the problem. Regardless of all of the chaos in the staff around him, during our first 3 game vs NFC opponents we lost by 3 or less. VS the Lions and Vikings we had unsuccessful 2pt attempts. Had we just kicked an xp vs the Vikings it theoretically wouldn't have gone to OT. If we had done the same vs the Lions on Thanksgiving you'd think there would've been a harder push to just seal the game w fg or clock management. The hopeful thing in this mess of a season is before the loss on Thanksgiving this kid has been putting them in a hell of a position even being down atleast 7+ at halftime. As you point out every week there are bright spots more than people wanna realize but there are beginning to be some issues that with focus can be fixed in the offseason. Bear Down!

The Bears got 99 Problems but a QB, finally, ain't really one. Having said that, no QB can continue to take a pummeling and still pretend like that muscle memory isn't there. People keep saying "Fire Poles!" as if knee-jerk "firing" everybody solves everything. There are no brilliant unemployed GMs that will automatically hit in the top 40% vs league average. The problem with Poles, IMO is not that "he sucks", it's that he was so obsessed with balancing the books and righting the wrongs of drunken sailor Ryan Pace in terms of budgeting, that he vastly underestimated the value of paying for real difference-makers- particularly on the lines. His approach has been good in terms of the future outlook in terms of the cap and draft. But in the short term he saw the downside of that spendthrift approach. He got budget dudes giving budget production at the positions that matter most for a Qb. I thought he was gonna f around and let Jaylon go with that b.s. My problem with Poles is that he seems like he's trying to win the CAP SPACE Bowl rather than the Super Bowl. And he seems way too enamored with nice guy Beta dudes. The Bears have almost no dudes that anyone is afraid of, and that's a problem.I think Poles has learned some valuable lessons from his hits and misses, and as a young GM, he's allowed to grow from experience. But he got a dude at QB, so let's go from there. #BeartfDown.

There is absolutely I evidence that Caleb does not read defenses well or understand plays. Quite literally the opposite, like have you watched these breakdowns? There is plenty of evidence that his deep ball is bad and he’s never dodged that accountability once.

I had a bad feeling that Brown only appeared as a good play caller because the NFL hadn't seen his game on tape enough with Caleb! Now it seems like hit & miss! Then Caleb starts pulling a Justin Fields and not seeing wide open receivers or just doesn't trust his arm! I'm losing confidence in his ability to become a great QB in the future! Once a QB becomes badly rattled from poor offensive line play, his career usually doesn't pan out after that!

He’s not good, only 3 good throws in a whole game and you have the best receivers and good tight ends and good running back. Bo Nix way better

Im not going to lie i know it would of been a tough catch but rome has to catch that ball on the sideline it went right between his hands. I know caleb didn't help him out with a better throw but damn rome them catches are what make you a legit wr 1

The one at the end of the game? it was 3 yards out of bounds, no one is catching that lmao
@JeremyAndrade158817 сағат бұрын
@beads2011 Go back to watch the all 22 it goes through his hands.

@beads2011 How you going to say no one is catching that? I have seen players catch that ball like that countless times. Keenan Allen just caught a pass like that a couple of weeks ago.

Wow I just watched it in slow motion and to my surprise you are right, an elite receiver would have made the catch. You wouldn't know unless you watched it from the endzone view in slow motion. Sure enough, a top WR would have made that play.

@guiseppe2862 100% like I said, caleb definitely could have helped him out with a better throw, but in my opinion, if rome wants to be a top wr in the league, he needs to make them plays as well.

Caleb would thrive with a competent coordinator. Brown isn’t good enough especially in an offense he’s not comfortable with and this line 🤦♂️. Bring on a new staff and praying for new owners

He was so cocky even telling the punter he wouldn't be needed. So fun to see all the sacks on him this year as well as his ineffective play. He'll be gone from any starting position within 4 years.

Jeffrey knows less ball than my 6 year old daughter. Hate to see it.

You know what’s cocky. Being a GM drafting two punters in 3 years and drafting zero centers and having arguably the worst OL in football while having the 2nd cheapest OL in football. Learn ball muppet.

Don't get why you are mad that a qb is confident in their game.

Caleb is trash
@JeremyAndrade158818 сағат бұрын
Trash is crazy. Trash players don't make them types of throws that he made last night. Now, is he great? No, is he good? No, but trash is not the word I would use to describe caleb williams. The kid is a rookie give him a year or 2 with a legit oc, and he could be a stud.
