I think that Cain didn't intend to kill Abel but fought with him in hatred and was an accident. The reason I think this is because God treats Cain like a manslaughter case we find in the law. He was banished and not put to death.

I think when sin entered his heart it was bad enough for God to dislike. Remember when Jesus said that if we hurt our brother/sister by simply saying something with our tongues we have committed murder in our hearts. We have the spiritual aspect of sin and we have the natural aspect of sin. What I am trying to say is forget about how Cain executed his hatred or dislike the issue started at the heart . We humans always see things in degrees but God sees sin at the heart. Remember Jesus could tell what was in every person’s heart. Therefore I came to the conclusion that the new covenant is a lot harder to follow than the old covenant, Jesus elevated the law by teaching us about matters of the spirit or heart. You don’t need to go sleep with someone to commit adultery. You don’t need to murder someone to commit murder. God is preparing us for holiness and this is why the apostles would say “who will be saved”? Jesus replied ,that with men’s effort no one. But with God’s help anything can be accomplished. The sabbath rest is spiritual. God has done all the work of salvation.

This is a very uncomfortable subject.

There was a Binlical death penalty. And it was to be judged and carried out by those without sin. So, it should behoove rulers to understand who are those without sin. These are judges who have sinned (because all have sinned,) but at the time of judgment, they are free from sin. I agree we need to make the system more Biblical. Jurors and judges should be believers. Lawyers would need to be believers under a lot of prayer if they are going to select godly jurors. It's a good thkng to help young Christians with the cost of law school. Police academy is a good investment. Help where we can.

Mr Guzik, about Revelation, in relation to the other person about reading the book of Revelation, on the live session. In the past i have made notes of my understandings and underlined my bible. It was just for me, for my understanding not sharing with anyone else. But, a few months ago, i had my guard down, and I continued on to the book of revelation. I dropped my pen down, right away and that warning popped into my head, as i have read parts of revelation before. I was really worried and it wasn't intentional. Now I just don't mark any Bible anywhere. I got a new bible and have the fear of even discussing revelation. I hope Jesus will forgive me , it wasn't intentional. It was just me putting my understanding in notes in my own personal bible. I just had my guard down, when it came to revelation, as I pondered at one or two points. It wasn't intentional, I had my guard down.

For most situations, everything I need to know is in the Word. That is God talking to me. If I need an answer, i can pray, and he will lead me to the answer in the Word. On rare occassions someone may need to move quickly from danger. Soldiers have experienced such warnings. And there is a relationship with God like the prophets had. They wrote down what God said. If Moses and the prophets did not hear God, why would we have a Bible at all. And then there are those like Job..

What if someone is truly repentent of their sin ? For instance, if someone maybe be waiting a long time , to be put to the death penalty.

Good question. I wonder if there's an appeal that could move someone off death row and into general population. Even then, we can't deliberately endanger the other prisoners.

Pastor Lance replies - As Pastor David said, one can be forgiven by God for any sin with genuine repentance. But a debt to society is still owed. If you knock over a previous vase in a store and apologize, the manager can forgive you - but you still have to pay for it.
