Tariffs works great! Just look at what tariffs have done for our solar and steel industry. Our solar manufacturing is non-existent and our steel industry is getting ready to be sold to Japan or face bankruptcy.

But the solar companies got billions and closed shop and did not pay back a cent. It's another way to scam us taxpayers

The only over capacity is the Printed usd.

I would really like the US to not play with the terminology "overcapacity" politically. It should be correctly referred to as "ability to export" economically.

"Overcapacity" is a made up word to promote Western propaganda. The word was rarely used before the apparent Chinese EV threat. "Overcaocity" is the basis if trade and commerce. If you are a shoemaker, you make shoes for your family. If you make more shoes than your family needs, you sell your "overcapacity" shoes. If you're not making more than you need, why are you selling it? If a farmer grows more than his family eat, isn't that "overcapacity"?

Byd shark is a hybrid. It doesn't need an Ev infrastructure to cover long distsnces unlike pure EVs. With a Byd hybrid , you get EV benefits without the EV hassle of finding an EV charger that actually works. I'm surprised the commentator isn't aware of it or cannot distinguish these nuances. Either it's on purpose or they're truly ignorant abt the EV space. And one more detail, a Byd hybrid is very different from the Japanese hybrid and way superior !!!!

Lol, Mexico and the US are each other's 1st and 2nd largest trading partners. Have had a peaceful border for more than 100 years, and have massive cultural ties. 1 in 8 Americans have Mexican ancestry and many have family in Mexico. Do we have a complicated history? Yes. Do we see eye to eye on every issue? No. Do we care a lot about what happens in each other's country? Heck yes.

Let me put it this way, 1st of all Chinese are willing to work hard as compared to the Westerners. They are no such things as summer holidays. Western workers want plenty of holiday. 2nd Chinese are willing to sell as long as there are profits. It doesn't need to have huge profit margins. Western companies want huge profit margin. Example iPhone profit margins are huge, Chinese phones manufacturers profits margins are much samller. Sell more to achieve the to achieve the gross profit. 3. The mentality are totally different from the West. Chinese workers are disciplined, willing to learn and improves as compared to Western workers. 4. Of course there are many others factors. To long to list it here 5. Chinese manufacturers are customers oriented. Westerners manufactures are not. Example I have been dealing with Western manufacturers. When I want to buy from them. The feeling is they are doing you a favour not we the buyer are doing them a favour. Totally different mentality.

@richardchak696 You sound like a MBA person who knows nothing about creating a tech company. China got it's EV technology from Tesla. Tesla gave all of it's technology and management styles to the Chinese as part of a deal to get into the Chinese market. Tesla is an American company. Tesla is the most sucessfull EV manufacturer in the world. Tesla makes profit on every vehicle it sells. What I just said negates all five of your statements 👈🏾

Don't bother to sell EV in US. It is not worth it. There is not enough infrastructure for EVs in US. There is just not enough charging facilities for EVs. American mentality is against Chinese, who would like to do business in a hostile environment. Chinese will happy to supply EVs without the hostility to the people in south America. BRI can help the south america to build up the infrastructure of electricity delivery. slowly the market will develop naturally.
