Is Davros the true Emperor of the Daleks?

Davros has always had delusions of grandeur, to the point that he spent centuries vying for control of the Dalek Empire, eventually establishing his own faction so he could set himself up as Dalek Emperor. But was his claim to the title of Emperor legitimate?

@@GreaterGrievobeast55 It’s from Restoration of the Daleks, the last part of the Time War 4 audio collection with Paul McGann. One of Big Finish’s absolute best works in my opinion. Davros and the Eighth Doctor are both amazing throughout, and the Dalek Time Strategist gives an absolute masterclass in being a hyper competent villain. This line in particular is the Time Strategist explaining very neatly why the Daleks should have a problem with Davros running the show. The whole collection is full of great lines though, totally recommend it.

The new series and some recent short stories (father of the Daleks and the third wise man) have my preferred post-remembrance Davros characterization. He doesn’t want to be emperor anymore. He just wants to be with his “children” as their father, chasing a love for him they do not and cannot possess

I came up with a concept for a story where Daleks grow sick of Davros and attempt to erase him completely from the timeline an replace him with a "Proto-Dalek" (I imagine the Dalek Eternal in this role) as the creator of the Daleks.

TL;DR: the Dalek must have major daddy issues at this point. Davros is like an incubation tank, like egg shells from which the dalek race hatched. At least that's how I imagine they view him without any bartering or mind control. By his design the Daleks should have no reverence for davros yet he continues to put them in situations where they must show fealty. Davros will never be the true dalek emperor, he's the daleks curse, their shackles.

Considering the even at his darkest moments the doctor is still trying to save people like the War Doctor Who literally is attempting to not be the doctor still ends up acting like the doctor I don't think 7 would have killed them no matter how dark he is so my guess is either they they f***** off and let the daleks getting the planet or they were exterminated

I assume the Thals were extinct by the time of the Dalek Civil War, at least on Skaro. Some may have existed elsewhere (like we see in Planet of the Daleks) as diaspora but they were certainly limited in numbers and of no concern to the Daleks.

I haven't listened to Terror Firma, but I vaguely remember a clip where Davros mentioned a clone. Assuming the clone survived that story, could the Davros Emperor have had Davros' mind extracted and placed within the clone, who ultimately became the Davros seen in The Stolen Earth? Additional idea: What if the Davros seen in the Witch's Familiar isn't the Davros that faced the Nightmare Child, but instead the Davros created by the Dalek Time Strategist?

F*** you that how I think he was dead before the time War because of the same reason I think the evil of the Daleks emperor is The Parting of the ways version. Rassilon was dead or in stasis whatever and he was brought back the master had finally burned through his body and he was brought back and the doctor died and The Sisterhood of Khan brought him back remember in Night of the doctor he just straight-up f****** died no regeneration they used Voodoo to resurrect him This is unrelated to the question I'm just sharing a common theme in the time war of death can go f*** himself

There's always a paradox with the Daleks' relationship with Davros. They see him as inferior due to how he designed them and yet the Daleks wouldn't exist (or at least wouldn't have as narrow-minded a viewpoint) had he not genetically engineered them. Then again, the Nazis have always been the party of contradictions so we shouldn't be surprised

With the more recent BF, davros TV stories, they tend to ignore Terror firma, so I don't count that at all in my head cannon. Also, there is another static emperor. In we are the daleks, the daleks are meant to be the imperial daleks. So they have rebuilt skaro, after remembrance, have an emperor and new supreme council. Yet there is no mention of davros in that. We do need a proper account of davros life after remembrance as it is very confusing

Of course the First full lick of the time War probably started during the seventh doctor's era not the actual War itself but just the Calm before the storm causing time to be a bit wobbly so it could all happen and be contradictory

Hey Dalek bumps, here’s an idea for a video, it’s called ‘who is falkus’, I saw on the doctor who wiki that this character is a clone of Davros who considers himself to be his real son. I bet he’s just as mysterious as dalek zeg or the dalek prime, so if you ever get the chance think about it.
