@Shiny Pikachu Holy Quran is the great sign of Our Creator ALMIGHTY! it is a miracle of miracles! the field of embryology there were a group of students who collected all the data that they could find in the Qur'an as well as the Hadith, dealing with ‘Embryology’. And they followed the verse of the Qur'an in Surah Nahl, Chapter.No.16, Verse.No.43, and Surah Anbiya, Chapter.No.21, Verse.No.7 which says “Fas aloo Ahlaz zikri in kuntum la Ta’lamoon” “If you don’t know, If you are in doubt, ask the person who is knowledgeable” So these Arab students they collected the verses of the Qur’an and the Hadith dealing with embryology and translated it into English and presented it to Professor Keith Moore, that was about 30 years back, in the late 70’s. And Professor Keith Moore at that time was one of the highest authorities in the field of embryology and he was the head of the department of Anatomy, in the University of Toronto in Canada. When he went through all the translation of the verses of the Qur’an and the Hadith he said, that most of the verses of the Qur’an which speaks about Embryology are in perfect conformity with latest advances of embryology. But there are a couple of verses, which I cannot say that they are right. Neither can I say they are wrong, because I myself don’t know about it. And two such verses, were the first two verses of the Qur’an to be revealed of Surah Iqra, or Surah Alaq, Chapter.No.96, Verse No.1 and 2 which says “Iqra bismi Rabbikal laze Khalaq, Khalaqal insaana min Alaq” “Read, Recite, Proclaim - in the name of thy Lord, who has created, who has created the human beings from something which clings - a leech like substance’. So Professor Keith Moore said, I don’t know whether the human beings, the embryo, embryology means, it’s the study of the development of human beings the early stages of Human Being in the womb of the mother, for those who don’t know. He said that I do not know whether the initial stages of embryo, that’s the initial stages of a human being it looks like a leech or not. So he went in his laboratory and under a very powerful microscope, observed the early stages of the Embryo and compared it with the photograph of a leech, and he was astonished at the striking resemblance. And later when 80 questions were asked to him regarding Embryology in the Qur'an and the Hadith, he said, “That if you would have asked me these questions 30 years ago, that means from today more than 60 years back, I would not be able to answer more than 50% because Embryology is a new branch of Medicine which has developed recently”. And whatever additional information he got, he included in the new addition of his book, “The Developing Human”.

The truth is clear with logic... please follow for yourself... please prevent yourself from the eternal hellfire by accepting and practising atleast common message of Creator in the religious scriptures of the world....I invite all of you to show me one word of the holy Quran that is against the ethics of humanity...read about Islam...

@Shiny PikachuDear, it is the order of our CREATOR that you can enter in paradise by following at least knowing your CREATOR! that means you must have crystal clear concept that there is only One ALMIGHTY GOD! and Prophet MOHAMMAD PBUH is HIS last and final messenger! We can gain a better understanding of the concept of God in Hinduism by analysing Hindu scriptures. BHAGAVAD GITA The most popular amongst all the Hindu scriptures is the Bhagavad Gita. Consider the following verse from the Gita: "Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures." [Bhagavad Gita 7:20] The Gita states that people who are materialistic worship demigods i.e. ‘gods’ besides the True God. UPANISHADS: The Upanishads are considered sacred scriptures by the Hindus. The following verses from the Upanishads refer to the Concept of God: "Ekam evadvitiyam" "He is One only without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]1 "Na casya kascij janita na cadhipah." "Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]2 "Na tasya pratima asti" "There is no likeness of Him." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]3 The following verses from the Upanishad allude to the inability of man to imagine God in a particular form: "Na samdrse tisthati rupam asya, na caksusa pasyati kas canainam." "His form is not to be seen; no one sees Him with the eye." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20]4

Guys, Any religion is just a Path. Not the end. And Hinduism in Kali yuga was the best path, provided one does have a rational mind as well along with openness to what could be Dharma. British Atheists or Christian take the path of either Materialism or Christ to be just an end in itself. Good news is Hinduism was actually neutral about sexuality to the deeply wise people but sex was still made a taboo to the beginners. DHARMA or Righteousness is beyond Sexuality topic alone even though it becomes important to the beginners till enough skill and sensibility is reached .Sex is neither encouraged nor condemned totally just like in Islam or Bible but it was the People of higher caste and in Authority who suppressed people in the name of lesser intelligence within the masses of people, more suppression than what was needed as a Discipline. That was the only complaint abt Hinduism even by Buddha in the name of God and as blind socially accepted beliefs

Other religions are 'organised' in a way that their manmade superiority feels threatened by Hinduism/ Santana Dharma. Sanatana Dharma does not convert because it is all accepting. And although I am the creator of this system, you should know that i am the nondoer, being unchangeable." And the explanation part touches on the varna part as - "... Although the _brahmanas_ by quality are supposed to know what about Brahman, the supreme absolue truth, most of them approach only the impersonal Brahman manifestation of Lord Krsna. But a man who transcends the limited knowledge of a _brahmana_ and reaches the knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krsna is transcendental to the four classes" Mere quoting the bhagwatgeeta and its vague translation doesn't change the fact that you're still an ignorant. And if you still fancy quoting random verses then here's a chaupayi from Ramayan - "Sab nirdhambh dharamrat puni, Nar aru naari chatur sab guni. Sab gunagya pandit sab gyaani, sab kritagya nahi kapat sayani" Which translates roughly to - "Every body is free of ego and both males and females are well read and witty, Everyone's knowledgeable and a pandit and nobody is a chalant"

Well I am a heterosexual Indian male and I am astonished at the treatment that is meted to some transgenders and homosexuals in India though every family worships a transgender in India, that is Shiva. You cannot find a temple with a female diety that is not cross dressed as a man with a mustache or a male diety dressed as a woman. Even the Madurai Temple the beacon of Hindu shaivism has sculptures of transgenders dancing and homosexual acts performed in abandon. One can see the transition of cultures as the later kings become more prudish...... Even a somewhat prudish book like Ramayan has many quotes where the crow asks if she can be a devotee of Ram and he says Man, woman and Queers, animals and plants who have removed malice are all my devotees.

@anant saini Gender and sexual variant people were never condemned in ancient societies, not only in India but also in different cultures. You can look into Native Americans, Australian aboriginals, ancient Hawaiians, ancient mexicans, ancient egyptians, mesapotamia, babylon etc. They were not only treated equally in these societies but also given special statuses considering them to be spiritually advanced people. They were considered as in between men and women, called third gender and they could see both the sides of men and women. However, all the homopbia and transphobia and persecution in the world has started after the arrival of the Abrahamic religions especially, the spread of Christianity and Islam through invasions. The invaders went to the local cultures and destroyed them and made the natives ashamed of their original traditions along with shaming third gender (modern terminology of LGBT is different from ancient) individuals and started converting them to the new found religions. That is how all this negativity spread around the globe and caused misery among the LGBT community.

But it takes very loving undemanding unselfish accepting parents to realize that thier child's needs are what is priority. I can understand it, but I refuse to be angry or too hurt or disappointed or turn my children away if they come to me with real issues that are affecting them. I try to let them know that I will always back them up and protect them.

Investing so much into you material life that you forget that you will die and have to reborn until you achieve liberation from reincarnation cycles is not the goal of Hinduism. Parents need to stop the confinement. The Buddha left wife and child behind to seek enlightenment.

@@Kuchursingh so true. And its so crazy how I as a Christian can find common understanding and realize truth when I see it. Once parents realize that our responsibility as parents is a very sacred and important role as life guides and that one day we won't be here physically for a time, ylthen things start to get put into perspective and things tgat understandably for some are very big issues, actually aren't. I would still live my babies the same way regardless of who they realize the magic of love with. Love is beautiful and precious and rare. So if one is lucky and finds it, ill be the first to nurture and cherish it. Even if that love is same sex, no sex, another religion. Just live your life without harming others, and be a benefit to society and be joyful and happy and laugh a lot and lead a full life with no regrets while doing so thats all I require.

I lived in India for a long time, neither gay or Hindu, but I have done a fair amount of yoga and Hindu practice, because I don't see a conflict with my own Buddhist practice. This is a refreshing view. I love India and probably have more friends there than anywhere in the world. In the Ashrams I stayed in and in many traditional yoga schools, I found the most judgmental and puritanical people I've met anywhere. Here in Bali, it's not the case among Hindus. They are a lot more open in general, and I find that Indonesians in general, even among the Christians and Muslims are more open than you find in other Muslim countries. They are pretty easy going in general. The only place in India where I didn't feel this was in Kerala, where people tend to be a lot more relaxed and happy. This is a great talk and I've been curious about how a religion based on sexual symbolism became so uptight and conservative.

Victorian morality caused a huge problem in our society that still continues. Bali Hindus haven't been touched by external problem and internal conflict unlike Indian Hindus. Many Hindus in India don't even read a single religious scripture which makes them unaware and falls for society judgment(which is prohibited in Geeta as mentioned in this videos). So this is our own created problem as we borrowed a lot of British laws which we are course correcting.

Another great example of transgender reference in ancient Hindu texts is the character of Shikandi in the Hindu epic Mahabharat. Shikandi was a great warrior, born as a female but transformed into a male in his/her youth. Like the rest of the kings and warriors who either fought on the side of Pandavas or Kauravas, Shikandi aligned on the side of the righteous Pandavas in the Mahabharata war. Shikandi played one of the most important roles in the Mahabharata war and was hugely instrumental in the victory of Pandavas. The story goes that when Arjuna, the most powerful warrior among the Pandavas, realised that it was impossible to defeat Bhisma, the grandsire of both Pandava and Kaurava clans as well as the chief of the Kauravas army, Arjuna knowingly placed Shikandi at the forefront in his battle with Bhisma. Now Bhisma knew Shikandi was female by birth. So in accordance to his dharma Bhisma refuses to fight with Shikandi as it was not dharmic to engage in a battle with a woman nor to kill a woman. Therefore Bhisma lowers his bow and stands still in the battlefield and Arjuna uses the opportunity to bring down Bhisma in the battle. This was a decisive moment and turning point in the war as it was a downhill for Kauravas side from then on after losing their chief army commander. So the transgender character Shikandi was a key character in Mahabharata. My above narration is not judgemental but just a reference to the place in the society and importance of transgenders in ancient India. Obviously Krishna, Arjuna, Yudhistira etc did not discriminate nor had any prejudice against Shikandi as a female born and happily engaged Shikandi as a frontline warrior. However it is apparent Bhisma had a different view. In the epic Mahabharat Bhisma is portrayed as an extremely great human being, full of compassion and a man of spotless character. Therefore I would think that Bhisma refused to fight with Shikandi not because he had any prejudice against transgender but because Bhisma, as a person of great character and compassion, probably erred in the side of caution. Anyway the whole Mahabharat war was one the many leelas (divine play) of Lord Krishna to restore Dharma in the world and to give us the sacred text Bhagavad Gita.

Hinduism is not always right. But when its wrong, it open to reformation. Thats why it keeps growing new traditions and leave behind old traditions all the time. Once caste system became rigid and oppressive, but it was during Islamic ans British rule. The moment India got Independence and Hindus got back in power, it abolished caste discrimination and immediately started reservation of lower castes. Lot of the discrimination still persists, but law and reservation has been put in effect.

I notice in western societies these classifications are very static and rigid, where as in many other societies traditionally these certain classifications could be very fluid and did carry stigma at all. So what many people call homosexual behavior was actually bisexuality and that behavior was more common than not and didn't carry a stigma like it does today. Many historical figures were like that but because of western attitudes the details were either minimized omitted and suppressed. So its not surprising at all that Hinduism was open about these things.

Nope, it was punishment for causing a social turmoil, India is heavily familial because it's still poor technologically and like past indians consider anyone who shares your surname is treated as first cousin despite distance, because of culture of extreme reverance of clan, caste and family and religion. People still keep ancient genealogical sequence of names this to keep very strong culture of sex-control and arranged marriage. INDIA heavily focuses on Atma and discovering of ultimate reality, and so an entire culture focus on brahmacharya and purity weaved into fabric of its culture, and So a person who doesn't want to be pure and want to engage in his sensual pleasures, highest of these is sex, where this person convince a younger to engage in it, may harm the reputation of the caste, or the clan and will be put to harm of being excommunicated, beaten, torture, killed. and we would rather punish the Person who caused the harm to the virgin rather than cause wide spread sedition of war and death of hundreds between different families or within one family.

After the invaders and colonialists entered India especially the British, they distorted many things in the scriptures. They don't have any authority over the Sanskrit scriptures. They either had a wrong understanding or intentionally mistranslated the scriptures. There crept a lot of misinformation. The ancient Sanskrit education was destroyed and Takshasila, Nalanda etc. educational institutions were destroyed. After the introduction of English education, we lost touch with Original scriptures. There are lakhs and lakhs of Sanskrit manuscripts that are being neglected. So what ever you hear don't blindly believe it.

There are no stringent rules in hinduism, it's believed that this body is a vessel through with you enjoy life but in the process of enjoyment you create karma and chain reaction of multiple karma's lead to entrapment in the infinite cycle of birth and death which is called Mayajaal because it is also believed that our soul is trapped in this body which is mortal and everything that we do or gain in life will die with it which renders our life as 0 and the only thing which carry forward is karma's which further convert to blessings, luck, bad luck, misfortunes, etc in future life unless you receive moksh which is highly unlikely. So there is no sin in enjoying what you like unless it's consensual.

But of course it should have been said that the great 'knot' between body and Self is tightened by identifying yourself as a body whether female, male or transgender. So the chasing of identity of whatever form with the body is to think that which you are not and thereby become captured in endless false identities. Suffering. By all means, equanimity to whatever we see in this world is highly desirable but such is impossible if a person is obsessing about his sexual identity whatever type it may be. I would have expected that this be added to this presentation.

When people obsess over gay and transgender people's identity they themselves are functioning on a gross level and unable to identify with their soul. Onus of not identifying with sexual characteristics should not be pushed only on non-heterosexual individuals - specially as means to erase their unique identity. When someone is in a sam sex relationship they are not obsessing over it or identifying with their bodies anymore than a man does over his masculinity and his body.

Noone obsesses over it. Aren't you just complaining about the fact that we finally are getting representation huh. And NO identity in LGBT is false. This is just straight up homphobic bruh

In the sukshma sharira realm, soul doesn't have any gender associated nor the sexuality ... People born in a certain way or have their preferences in life is to bring balance to the world in one way or the other. Whatever happens, happens for a reason and the great architect makes sure that whatever happens, happens for a good reason to this universe.

I hate it when people say that something isn’t a part of our culture and traditions without actually knowing about culture.. Same goes for the Indians today.

Homosexuality in Hinduism has long history as the religion itself be it dities or in mythologies like: Agni, God of fire described as child of two births and two mothers or agni also shown as being part of same couple with Soma. Mitra and varuna portrayed as icons of affection and intimate friendship between males. Bhagavata purana lists both having children, Agastya and vasistha, through method similar to modern day gay couple having children through surrogate mothers. Krittivasa Ramayana story of two queens of sun dynasty having chid with the blessings of god of love and the child is described as "he who was born from two vulvas" or Shiva parvati's and Vishnu lakshami merger forming half woman half man. The thing is it was brits and their Christian ideology that corrupted it, introducing law banning homosexuality during colonial period, good thing the gov removed it.

All we do in our life, at the end has as result, pain or happiness. We may call anything as natural or unnatural but what really decides the nature of our actions, is their quality and the result. Pain is the result of disharmonious rajasotamasic actions and behaviors and happiness is the result of harmonious sattvic actions and behaviors. Everyone reaps what he sows. The clear discrimination between sattvic and rajasotamasic actions and behaviors is developed only on sattvic minds.

The goal of life is Individual Enlightenment through balance of Masculine and Feminine principles and valuing Family relationship for that. But India has this disadvantage of losing its roots why Family relationship of Wife and Husband should be valued most, more than conforming to society, as a part of valuing Emotional balance 'Within' first. As Male or Female and mainly as a Husband in order for wife too to grow their Masculine Feminine principles within them, maturing emotionally to be able to lead a reasonably emotionally balanced living. (A Woman to awaken the needed Masculine in herself and to be emotionally independent remains just a possibility when she is all by herself. And it is possible more with support of a righteous male).
