First off, Noragami is So Good! I really think you'd like it Danny. Second. As part of the whole Naruto being the antagonist, do you think obito, or someone else would have tried to use the secret about his parents to get him to do a revenge plot on the village? I also feel like if Sasuke was the protagonist, then it would have taken the route of some filler in shippuden showed us, where itachi stayed and told the third about the coo. And they do down some of that plot line a bit.

The main reason that they do the CG in that way is due to time and money like you guys said. And the main determining factor is frankly what’s more important. For example with demon slayer, nobody REALLY cares about the dragon being CG for like 15 seconds. But tanjiro’s new move was rlly important and needed to look visually stunning. So they cut corners by making the dragon and fish CG.

I think demon slayer does cgi well because they mostly stick to the rule that cgi is used on things that are already otherworldly or disturbing, so the cg compliments that aspect, the other great cg examples i can think of is Envy from fmab, when he turns into his true form the cg makes him seem even more disturbing, or in black clover the magic is sometimes cg which adds to its otherworldliness, especially the devils’ magic

28:42 the recap episodes are mainly used to fill a tv slot when the anime is delayed a week or so. They paid for that time slot and they have to fill it with something. It’s either that or reruns of earlier episodes

Also Berserk not having a new anime is probably due to how much detail goes into every panel and piece of art in that manga that it’d take a very long time to properly adapt it in a well animated way. At least that’s what o think as I agree if it had a new anime airing that was good it’d definitely make a shit ton of money

The reason for 3D animation (CGI) in 2D animations when it comes to Cars, Monsters etc is due to time constraint and budget on occasion but the biggest reason is mass, proportions and detail. It is a lot harder to draw a car by hand and make it consistently proportional (especially if you are changing angles) than if you used a 3D model instead. Much in the same way that you can't draw a perfect circle let alone multiple times in a row. The same goes for huge monsters but that is more for proportions and scaling for the 2D animators otherwise you get things like in attack on titan where a titan in one image is huge but the next is tiny in comparison (At least in the first season). this stuff also applies to characters or objects of extreme detail like if a character has a tattoo its much easier to have the tattoo remain consistent if its on a 3D model.

I know this is a year old but this is a great episode! When they were talking about MC's becoming the antagonist, there is actually an filler episode that takes one of the girls and sends them into an alternate world where everything is reversed. Like Sasuke is a playboy no one likes, Naruto (called Menma or something) is a jerk and his parents are still around. Even the Akatsuki are the good guys. Its an interesting episode

With recent marvel movies there was a higher-up that was making them release early(idr the name). But i agree that new marvel movies suck exept gardians 3 that was amazing. The overuse of the Over Powered Main Character right at episode 2 has killed fantasy anime for me. Aswell as the over use of RPG game mechanic. Shonen MC can also be overpowered but atleast they make them go through a hero journey and the supporting cast has potential to die or get seriously injured.

I'm curious if the guys have ever watched Black Lagoon. It has some great action scenes and visual world building for the city of Roanapur and the most dark but also grounded anime i've ever seen. I'd love to see them react to Revy or Balalaika, great female characters terrible role models but also kind of not as successful women in male dominate fields. Isekai is the new Shonen. It's the Generic Action shows that are just more filler for better shows. But as a Fantasy Fan who enjoys D&D and Isekai myself, I love Isekai. Some are a far grade worse or better than others but I like the flood of shows to Binge until others come out. I'd like variety, but they already have that both In genre and out of Isekai. There's a fair mix of shows every season as someone who's been keeping up both allot of releases. Ther3e half isekai, half other shit. Perfect 👌
