On the topic of Film Red, the voice actor for Uta is Amanda Lee(AmaLee, LeeAndLie, Monarch), and while the movie's music isn't dubbed she has uploaded her covers of the songs. Personally, I think she killed it in her covers. Especially Tot Musica.

Months later I'm going back and watching each podcast ep, but on the subject of shounen MC I'd trust with taxes: Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach is (I think) a top tier choice. He's decently smart, lives in a modern era so he understands modern principles and has the benefit of a modern education. He takes zero shit so he wouldn't let anyone give him a run around and he's very loyal to his friends so you know if you're close enough friends to ask for help with your finances, he's actually going to be doing his best to help you out. And regardless of what age he is when you asked he's actually mature enough to understand how important it is to get done and do it right.

The first cour of Brotherhood kind of expedites the first half of the original, at which point the story diverges. It does kind of treat the viewer like they've seen the first, goes through the motions of the original more as a reminder of the themes they've covered. Other than that, there's no need to watch the original to fully enjoy Brotherhood. You DO need to watch the original to enjoy the best anime sequel movie ever, Conqueror of Shambala.
