this one line that empty stomach is not a hungry stomach has changed my life so significantly. I just followed that and it turns out that I don't need to eat more than two times per day, specially no munching. Thank you for your wisdom!

Today, science is also catching up and now MANY cases of "Intermittent Fasting" are being researched into. The result is LIFE changing!! I've been having 1 meal a day between 6-9PM. I sleep around 1AM. Mental clarity, emotional control... everything is so effortless and less lethargic, literally!

I’m trying this too, not eating breakfast but having one big meal a day after work I finish at 1800, I get really hungry in work I don’t know iff this is a good thing or bad, I’m 34, tall and slim build and use a lot of energy in work, maybe I should see a nutritionist, what do you think

Makes sense! I feel my best eating only two meals per day. I eat my first meal around 10:30am-12pm. Then I don’t eat anything until 6pm. I drink a lot of water. I go to bed around 10-11pm.

Thanks for this! I enjoyed your Inner Engineering book... one nagging question that if you or anyone can please clarify for me: in the book you refer to the subconscious as being "memory." Is that all that it is, do you think? Thanks!! Just two of your videos on some diet changes have changed my life a lot for the better, and I appreciate them all.
@Kinder_m.b.a
@Kinder_m.b.a 2 жыл бұрын
Well if not memory then what.. the first basic thing is memory.. if there is no memory even the conscious mind can't function.. it will take data from the senses which will again be stored i.e. brain 🧠 will again store memory then only it will function
@Bobsbigbuoy
@Bobsbigbuoy Жыл бұрын
@@Kinder_m.b.a I believe the subconscious contains memory, but much more than just that! It is the realm of instilled habits, patterns, aspects of the personality. The seed thoughts and desires fuelled by strong emotion are brought about mostly subconsciously; it is extremely powerful... for example what or who is beating the heart, consciously? If not the subconscious, then that would mean that the heart beats based on our personal memory, consciously, wouldn't it? Unless he means collective memory of humanity or a superconscious will in line with the subconscious (yoga basically).

This is amazing to hear. For years, I cannot eat a “regular” breakfast or lunch because I will get tired. The past decade I eat raw almonds & vegan jerky as a “snack”, & I save my regular meal for nighttime shortly before bed. I’m not diabetic & have no known health issues, not overweight, etc. I will incorporate fasting once per month. I don’t have issues eating a large meal before bed or I heard it’s wrong after 8p, but it works for me.

There's nothing much significant about the man. There's a massive difference between reading books and knowing life through realisation (inner experience). In the end you will find that he will have great deal of followers which are not transformed at all. You can see his voice getting louder and he is almost getting frustrated as people don't seem to get what he is saying. Irritation is visible.

Depends most heavily on how "in the body" someone is and how physical they are daily. Also, yogic culture says the ideal time between meals 8 hours. Sadhguru says "at least 5 hours (bare minimum)" for those that aren't willing to wait for 8, but it is not the same quality of experience, in most cases.

I think it's best to do what is done at the ashram - which is 2 meals a day, 10am and 7pm. That is what works for me as well. Initially I use to have 5-6 meals a day, but my body was able to adjust rather quickly to just the 2 meals. Benefits of this are plenty too. Also I always start my meal with fruits, and try to keep 30-50% of my meal raw and uncooked. Works well, many thanks to Sadhguru 🙏🙏

I used to struggle with the same question as you because I am really fascinated with a healthy lifestyle. But then I realised there is no such answer to an IDEAL diet. Here I'm going to tell you why. Body mechanism is complicated, and many hormones affect us like insulin, and cortisol. I tried fasting, calorie deficit diet, vegan diet, cheat day on weekend. The consequence is that I'm so confused, sometimes craving snacks, chocolate, sweets, and pizza. But I wont allow myself to eat them so I just spend a lot of time watching people eating on youtube like "what i eat in a week', food vlog. I even give up dinner with family and hang out with friend just because i am doing intermittent fasting. I want to tell you that the best answer is to listen to your body what eating pattern you feel most comfortable, both mentally and physically. To take myself as an example, two meals a day is not suitable for me most of the time, since i wake up early and love making breakfast to start my day like oatmeal, sourdough, yogurt or leftovers som. Also i can't go to bed with empty stomach so i eat dinner around 7pm as well. The key is to eat less processed food, more whole food. I am not saying completing give up on them because I do eat them sometimes with i hang out with friends because the memory we spend is precious. The reason why there is so many obesity, DM, eating disorder in recent year is because many high-processed food introduced to us due to the economic factors. People earn so much by selling it. and turns out many of us have chronic illness. Some keto diet, low calorie snacks, sugar-free coke were introduced to us. After all this, I just maintain the 8/2 rule. 80% whole food (mostly cooked by myself) and 20% processed food to satisfy my craving. My diet is the not best but it is what my body feels most comfortable with. Every body is different, your age and what you eat affect your metabolism, fruit in different origin have different calorie and nutrients. . I hope it helps!

There's different logic to every system. In gym they will tell you one thing. Ayurveda people will tell another m yoga will tell another. One thing I can't tell you is that yogic system is much more wholesome, profound and rewarding . More you see life more will you realise that fitness that we talk about and health is different. That sense of inner peace and harmony is more important than you having 6 pac abs. You have to choose if you want to look great or feel great.

When I eat, it's not much. If I don't eat again in a few hours, I will get dizzy and confused. My stomach must be empty by then because it is growling.

Well I don't know your specific health profile. But speaking in general dizzy can be blood sugar instability issue. So low blood sugar. You should try to eat meal with adequate protein and healthy fats (olive oil, coconut oil, butter). If you eat a high carbohydrate meal only it will keep you feeling hungry and having unstable blood sugar.

This is a great approach. Just one entirelydifferent question: Why is Putin in the right corner? Please anyone explain the joke, I am missing the point there....

This is a 2014 interview of Sadhguru by Hindustan Times, a newspaper company in India, probably at their location.
