No and yes. No racer has ever won all 3 in the same year, but the greatest athlete in world history di win all 3 within a 12 month period, just not in the same year.

No but back in the day thre Vuelta used to overlap with the Giro so it simply wasn't possible (and frankly nobody cared about the Vuelta). So the triple has always been Giro-Tour-Worlds.

Two riders in the form of their lives this year. Tadej Pogacar (SLV), Ben O'Connor (AUS). One rider failing to perform once again when there is proper competition.....Remco Evenpoel (BEL).

Wrong. The triple is Gito, Tour, Worlds. No professional cyclist would swap a World title for a Vuelta. A Vuelta is just not as important, historically and even now, as a World title.

Nope. The Vuelta simply doesn't have the prestigious history. Nobody cared about the Vuelta when the triple crown record was set. (And it used to overlap with the Giro so it wouldn't even have been possible)

My question is, has Pog won Paris Roubaix? Cannot call him a great without L'enfer du Norde! Eddy won it, Le Blaireau won it. To be fair Coppi never raced it, remember he lost his 4 best years as a POW in Nth Africa during WW2!

What a silly comment. No cyclist can be called "great" without winning Paris Roubaix? It's only a one day race for pity's sake and you consider it more of an achievement than winning a Grand Tour, let alone two in the same year? 🤡 Ps. there's no 'e' in Nord.

@@emanuelemorelli6128 eddy had multiple positives (for amphetamines). But not sure what that has to do with Pog & Roubaix. I think Schumacher had it correct when he said it wasn’t sensible to compare eras, they are different.
