My wife died and as far as I am concerned I am still married. Death should not be a barrier to eternal love and honor

I think giving yourself time to grieve and get closer to the Lord before getting into another relationship is wise. I lost my hubby 7 years ago, and I've given myself time to grieve and get closer to God. It's biblical to get married but it is safer to spend time with the Lord and get to know Him better. Then you can get into a new relationship when you are much healthier spiritually and physically. Both men and women.

Thank you for very biblical based advice. I’m struggling as a widow with many of the issues you’ve addressed: family not happy with my dating, advising to be married under God but no need legally, purity in dating, etc. Very upsetting, very revealing, not just about them but myself…. I throw all my burden on Him for He cares. Fervent prayers to honor everyone involved, deceased, alive and most importantly God.

Wow, thank you so much for this video. I’m a young woman looking to marry when my boyfriend and I are ready. We have been together for almost four years and love each other dearly. The reason that we haven’t tied the knot is more about the both of us being very young (by todays standard at least) and being in college. He worries about complications that come with marrying young like being kicked off of our parents’ life insurance. To me, I would work more just so that we could pay that, but I also understand he just may not be ready and that’s ok too. Anyways, recently I lost my grandmother and my grandfather brought up getting married to this woman we had never met only about four months after they started courting (they had stated courting about 3 ish months after her passing- which was sudden and unexpected). This honestly has troubled me deeply, I want my grandfather to be happy and I’m not personally against re-marriage at all, but I have to be honest it shook our family. Losing my grandmother was devastating and I know he loved her deeply which is why I was so troubled by his sudden relationship. I feared it was either that he didn’t love her as much as he thought and later now think it’s probably out of him not being able to face the grief of losing her. She was his whole world, and I think seeing him “move on” so fast really hurt a lot of our family (particularly my mother and I). So I also had some insecurities about my own relationship as I’ve been told “that’s just how men are”. Thinking about my future husband doing that to me has left me so sad. But watching your video has given me faith that there is a proper way to re-marry after the death of a beloved spouse that honors the deceased and gives room for healthy grieving. I also love that you put a focus on considering the family, other men in my life have been so lost in grief that they didn’t consider the family’s feelings- and destroyed family relationships as a result. I will have to tune into more videos in this series.

I did remarry 2.5 years after the death of my wife. I think I made the right decision. I want to share everything I can offer, life , heart, possessions, experiences. The mother of my son will have a special place in my heart.

it’s different for man and women and I think I know what I’m talking about. I’m a widow now, my husband died 9 mths ago, this month would be our 35 yr anniversary. My mom died, I was 12, my brother 14, our dad was only 42. I think about my dad a lot now days, how hard it was for him, being lonely with 2 kids. He remarried 3 yrs after and we had half brother, he lived till 85. I know for sure he wouldn’t live that long if he didn’t marry again, my brother and me wouldn’t be able to move on the way we did. Now, widow myself at 58, I’m at different stage in life, grown kids, both married with their own families. My husband and I talked about what would happen if him or I died first, and I always thought he should have remarried and I would remain single. In my opinion, men struggle living alone more than women, especially after long marriage. Its not easy for anyone to be alone for sure, however, my thinking is, why would I bring someone else into my life and making it complicated for myself and our kids. I can use this time to get to know myself and grow as a person, do things I never had time while raising a family who knows, I might change my mind as time passes, but I doubt it. I thought about it a lot ever since my mother passed away

Common law was around before the state recognized a marriage, So that you could receive benefits it has nothing to do with being ungodly. In biblical times they took a wife, It had nothing to do with the state.

Common law marriage if lived together two years ir more is easy copout for cheating, perverted spouse that wants not just another person outside marriage but group sex, etc. These men, avoid!

I was just thinking positive about his video, but now that I see how he was prejudiced, and said that women don’t need it or deal with loneliness more than men which is not true

Think what you like but do not ever put your judgement on anyone who chooses to remarry. The widowed Christian is free to marry a Christian whether they are in their 20s all the way to their 80s.

@@manichairdo9265it also kinda disgusts me cause what if there's an after life would that be considered cheating and yeah on the other hand you would be alone for the remainder of your life. Idk its just hard for me to think about but if it were up to me I wouldn't date anyone else after my partner died

@thebadlegoanimationman2709 My husband died several years ago. There's no way I would ever date, let alone marry. I know many widows. A number have remarried. Many wish they could. Many don't want to. Considering that the video is about Christian remarriage: 1. It is permitted, providing you marry a believer. 2. There is no marriage or marrying in heaven. We're all seen as individuals free of any earthly issues. My own daughter died. I know I will see her again but I won't be a mother to her any more than I will be regarded as my husband's wife.
