I really don't care about being at the top of the meters, I just love playing boomie, always have. Also, it's by far the class I know how to play the most, so I'm able to squeeze it to the limit. And I like playing the parsing game, so being one of the best out of the underdogs is more than enough for me :) Anyway, balance in Classic world PvP was always OP AF (and even more now in SOD), and that feels so good.

I'm first gona focus on my balance druid first this phase, I just love how good they are in pvp, they will now get travel form as well so they can skip away to a decent range and keep those instant nukes going. I am also wondering if wildgrowth the rune actually counts as a resto spell? if it does not (many runes do ignore the original source, like some warrior runes that would normally require a specific stance not having to be in said stance) then they should be able to heal without breaking moonkin form. Also the 360% armour was never that great in classic for moonkins, but you have to remember most of them were pretty much forced to use half of their gear as cloth, so a far lower base number to multiply, where as here they are getting specific good ranked blue and epic gear that will have its base values multiplied by 3.6 making them more physical resistant this time around.

12:00 Its as you say, but in BFD right now theres already wrath (and starsurge) SPAM for like 75% of any fight. Its not something you just "can" do, you are, you will. That mana regen means you can pretty much spam wild growth and wrath between for raidheals. I think its pretty sweet. You might also run eclipse as resto if nourish just isnt needed, which it probably wont be until some big hitters at 60, or if they buff content like BFD a lot.

But starsurge kind of fall off hard. I used to focus my gear for arcane and int for maximum poke. But i think the scaling at higher level is kinda small. So i change to feral XD

If it doesn't it's gonna suck and balance druids would be cuckolded by feral in the same rune slot. Berserk literally generates twice as much energy as adrenaline rush so even using cloth spell power gear you could use automatic crowd pummeler with berserk active and probably do more dps for 15 seconds.

I think its worth pointing out feral druids get ferocious bite rank 2 at lvl 40 and a lot of talents that buff fb and ways to earn extra combo points off crits from abilities. Since a lot of the enemies in gnomer are resistant to bleeds (as long as this doesn't get changed) spamming max rank bites is going to feel really nice. Also mangle will deal 20% more damage from talents as well so i think feral dos will probably be in a dood place this phase.

Rune spells sometimes tend to be cheaper than the Original, as much as I like Healing Touch, Nourish Might be a better idea for when Burst Healing is required, and mana is scarce

Right now Nourish is sitting at 36% base mana. With Tranquil spirit talent it will be 10% less but it is still pretty costly unfortunately. Will def be used but looks like next phase is still mainly WG with some nourishes. Maybe sprinkle in a Rejuv

Idk how you play your resto druid but I use stormrage and spam wraths between heals constantly. I see a ton of mana regen for a resto druid in that case. Maybe they'll get something else though.

Resto is gonna be weird because our only option for feet will be Dreamstate which encourages the Wrath-spam playstyle again (which is fine), and we'll likely still run Fury of Stormrage, but we'll also want Swiftmend for Efflorescence and won't be able to get Improved Wrath anymore.

i like the 30% crit chance and the 70% chance that the cast time is not increased by incoming damage, but with Nature's Grace in combination with Wrath we would have a huge GCD problem, or Nature's Grace will only be usable for Starfire made, then we wouldn't have any problem with Eclipse, Nature's Grace and Wrath, if whe stop Casting Wrath we have also a GCD to cast after incomming Nature's Grace to cast Starfire. Or have I made a mistake here

Starsurge benefits from and triggers most talents and effects that trigger or benefit from Wrath or Starfire. This combined with eclipse could mean Starsurge double dips on the 30% crit. Psst it already double dips on the increased range talent

Obviously the cooldown will be shared between all copies of the item, and even in the extremely unlikely case it isn't, you would still need to wait 30s between buffs, because removing the weapon will remove the buff immediately, so you can't swap early, and when you do swap weapons, there is an obligatory 30s equip timer before you can use any effects on the item.

I think Survival Instincts is meant to solve bear rage starvation. It reads to me as though the dodge = rage is active always, not just when you pop the 30% health It also kinda makes AoE tanking…maybe ok? Tanking 6 mobs = lots of dodges = spamming swipe much more. That with the +15% threat…might…work?

As a resto druid i have no plans on getting swiftmend! Its a trash spell with to much mana cost plus the fact we will still need to keep the boomy chest rune for free wraths and use the dreamstate rune for mana regen, my last 5 points will be reducing cast time of wrath

Im afraid ( as a feral ) that furor + omen is still too OP, so we wont get down the feral tree far. Extra AP and extra combopoints is tons of fun, but it simply outshined by free casts and free energy every few seconds. Whats very annoying is that youll need both weapons as feral, Pummeler AND the STV pvp event hammer. Pummeler is simply stronger if you can use the cooldown, but its on CD you swap to the epic. Back and forth.

I always hated powershifting, it felt like an unintended mandatory way to play cat. I honestly don’t think when they designed furor or wolfshead they knew it was gonna be a la big of a thing as it ended up being. I love these runes because I believe it’s gonna erase powershifting. The only powershifting I’d like is if you got benefits from shifting to new forms. A Druid that was a bear/human/ and cat all in one fight would be badass. Not just pvp.

Furor essentially gives you a free mangle. Depending on fight length and mana pool, it's likely that your 8+ free mangles will do more damage than your ~2 free shreds from ooc.

I think Nourish is an interesting rune for Resto. Healing touch has always been a big part of Resto in OG classic so haing a modified version to build around seems like it has a place. As a resto player im more annoyed by the fact that we have a completely dead rune slot as there is nothing on the feet slot I really care about or find interesting as Resto.

I feel like the 3% crit from leader of the pack isn’t going to be better than omen, if you stack up on agi you get extra crit anyway. I’ll try both ways but if I don’t like what I see dpswise I’ll stay with omen and furor and innervate myself as much as possible. Powershifting is, for me, the best way to increase damage. Plus, with agi stacked, you can be a pretty reliable “oh shit” tank when the main tank dies

If you go for Omen you can't really go deep into the Feral tree, I would say the most likely to be great Talent tree is 0/26/5.

@@purepurple5475 I think I’ll go against the main stream and take a 11/16/4 build. So Omen, feral branch till 1 point in Blood Frenzy and 4 points in Furor. That way I can get a free mangle or shred on omen procc, have 50% chance to get an extra combo point on crits and have 80% change to get 40 energy on power shifts. Of course I’ll try the 0/26/5 build as well to see the difference

Moonkin form needs to reduce the global cooldown on all your balance spells by .5 seconds and allow you to cast resto spells as well for it to be a cool transformation. A bit of mana efficiency would suck especially since wrath and starsurge are free anyways.

King of the jungle sounds great on paper but i am not sure its much of an upgrade. Tigers fury at 36 normally gives you + 20 flat damage. This is the equivalent of +280 ap, and it doesnt have a cooldown. For the same damage bonus from KOTJ you would need to have 1800 ap! Wild strikes gave us 20% more attacks at an additional 20% AP. For the entire fight duration Savage roar gives us 30% more damage. While maintained King of the jungle gives us energy for 2 mangles and 15% damage for only 6 secs every 30 seconds.

It is absolutely an upgrade, you basically just ignored the main part of the rune. Normally, TF costs 30 energy, with the rune it generates 60 energy. Without the rune, you'd never actually cast it because 30 energy for the flat damage is actually less DPS than just spending the energy on Mangle. Now with the rune, you instead GENERATES energy to cast even MORE Mangles, AND it has a 15% modifier for all your damage. TF goes from being literally a DPS loss to being a nice DPS increase. How is that not an upgrade?

@@luthermercedes I have no idea where you get your numbers from, but they are completely wrong. You can't equate a percentage boost to a flat AP. How did you even GET that number? Getting 15% damage boost means it increases based on your gear. Essentially, the better gear, the more AP equivalent you get. I think you need to not judge the rune based on your flawed calculations. If we look at Warcraftlogs of a feral doing around 350 DPS right now, 60 Energy would roughly translate into 19 DPS increase. The 15% damge would roughly be 11 DPS, assuming a 30 sec fight. That would mean right now, a Feral could go from 350 to 380 DPS, that is huge from a single rune. This is calculated based on the average Mangle damage of some 350 DPS warcraftlogs players. And of course a lot of people end fights faster than 30 seconds, meaning effective more uptime of the buff. Or if you are slower and it takes for example 40 seconds it will also effectively give higher uptime than 6/30. Oh, and that's completely ignoring how INSANE it is in PvP to be able to not spend GCD on powershifting, but just spam abilities. And snapshotting Rip, especially if it gets a rune in the future, will also make it better.

PLEASE help Bear tanks!!!!!!! we have many issues Scott!!! we need 2 runes from our chest slot..... we need 2 runes from our Glove slot...... our leg slot has no needed tank rune....... Swipe doesn't scale with literally anything at all. Mangle and lacerate need to both be able to be taken at the same time as a bear. making bears choose between Wild strikes and SoTF when we dont even have a leg rune is bad game design at best.. I just cleared gnomer last night as a Bear MT and yes it is doable but you NEED the 45% threat buff from a shaman and even then threat is still questionable. Not to mention the GORE rune that has been datamind since day 1 of SoD lets lacerate proc a mangle..... yet you cant even have both of those abilities at the same time....

Just wrath the main damage having no cost with the fury of stormrage rune at all, starsurge always had a low cost and got reduced. The main mana dump cost is from Moonfire and Sunfire and then hurricane when that's available with Starfire in phase 2, Plus most of the pre bis gear for boomies have no int, so you you would run out eventually, Or if you dots all mobs in aoe fights with moonfire and sunfire it runs out quick, even when you are fully geared with int.
