Who does not want to see man rule over all the earth? - Nice one! And I was sitting down too! I also like how you brought up that Jesus is our brother. Many Christians will readily acknowledge that the Lord Jesus is the Christ, but not their brother because they believe he is God. Most of Christendom believes Jesus is God out of fear because if they don't then they will be cast into hell as a disembodied soul and suffer eternal conscious torment- another sinister lie.

Excellent study of this scripture which can be a little tricky to explain but it makes so much sense!! So thankful for scriptures that call Jesus the firstborn from the dead, first fruits of those that sleep and the second Adam. It all comes together!

Thank you Bill so much for giving me the tools/explanations for those who use this verse trying to make Jesus the creator of the initial creation. Great narrative - keep up the good work!!

Please review "Is Jesus the Creator in Col 1:15-19 No, but Jesus is the beginning of God"s New Creation". It is on this same site. Then compare the narratives for a correct understanding. You can make up your own mind by comparing the presentations.

This passage well illustrates how presuppositions influence how people read and understand the text. Many trinitarians simply cannot accept what the text says as it completely undermines their theology. Paul describes Jesus as the image of God, the firstborn of every creature(KJV) / all creation(ASV). . It is quite obvious why Trinkitarians don't like this passage : Jesus is not called God but the image of God. An image is just that. It is a representation. It is not the real thing. But worse still, he is called the firstborn. If Jesus is born/ birthed / created etc he cannot be 'God' in their Trinitarian understanding. The only way round this is to engage in redefitionism. The text does not mean what it says. Rather, although rthe Greek word can mean firstorn as it does in the Bible, it can also mean 'preeminent' and so must mean this. Why must it ? Indeed, they engage in panic apologetics to find biblical examples. They do this with many other verses, so it is not surprising that they do this with this verse too. Biblical unitarians don't agree with the Trinity but must also claim this verse talks about the new creation for the simple reason that they do not believe in pre-existence of the Son of God.. My point is not to engage in debate but simply to point out how presuppositions affect the way people understand a bibliocal text.

Bill I appreciate you immensely brother. Just a suggestion for a podcast. Micah 5:2 - But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.” Please reply if you think you will do it, thank you!

Is Jesus the first born, or the firstborn?
@christopherfaustino8318 Жыл бұрын

I have asked church members who the Last/Second Adam was and they look at me like a deer in the headlights?? It is a shame how ignorant most Christians are. And when it comes to the history of Chrisrianity most are clueless. They merely go to church and wait to be told what to believe! I have actually had members tell me this - " I just believe what I am told" they reply. What a shame!!
