Small correction: The japanese Nintendo Power actually has nothing to do with the magazine. It was like the FDS disks where you'd bring a blank cart to a store with a kiosk and for a fee you could write games to it

Yoooo, can you make a weirdest snes commercials poll? I think it's insane how crazy some TV commercials were. For example the FF3 commercial with the moogle is hilarious. I especially think of the Secret of Evermore commercial (you can watch it on youtube)! The dogs metamorphosis, the obscure music and the freakin game flying around haha. Imagine you are 12 years old and it's 1995 and this ad runs on your parents TV 😂

I always appreciated that Nintendo and HAL went the route of sketched artwork when everyone else was trying to do 3d pre-rendered realism. Later Yoshi games would not have nearly as much personality if Yoshi’s Island went the DKC pre-rendered 3d route.
@jclkaytwo Жыл бұрын
yoshi's story, the second yoshi game, went the pre-rendered DKC route
@gamalielshapira Жыл бұрын
@@jclkaytwo Though using pre-rendered assets, the settings themselves are still fanciful, with cardboard, fabric and embroidery, rather than a "realistic" setting such as DKC. Looking at screenshots of Yoshi Story just a few minutes ago, it makes me think that Kirby's Epic Yarn was also fairly heavily influenced from Yoshi Story.

Never played this one, but seeing it definitely reminded me of Super Puzzle Fighter. I absolutely LOVED that game. I played it religiously on PS1 for years. Then I played it for some more years when it released on GBA. Then even more when it came to PSN. If Star Stacker is really like Puzzle Fighter, then I may have to check it out. If not, then at least it will motivate me to revisit Puzzle Fighter. I haven't played it in a few years.

One day I was gonna go to bed, but chose to play some GB on my GameCube Player. I Tried Kirby's Star Stacker and thought I'd play a few levels. After clearing the 1st 3 difficulties I figured, I'd finish the last one. So I did 4 levels, then 8, then 16, then 20, Its gotta end soon, right? 28, 32, 36, 40, Is it done? 44, 48, Come on! 50 levels! I was there over 17 hours and my thigh was turning to wood from sitting so long. And there's no saves or level select or passwords. The only way to do it; 1 long marathon. And my prize? A still image of Kirby and his Droogs. But I'm glad I beat it. Its an achievement.
