Luka was both the Spanish league and Euroleague champion and MVP at 18 and they are the 3rd and 2nd highest level competitions in the world after the NBA, and yet there's people that thought he was gonna be a bust, the man has been playing professionally against men at the second highest level in the world since he was 16 while the other draft picks were playing in highschool and college yet people believed he was gonna suffer because of his phisicality and athleticism this people should educate themselves before embarrassing themselves like this again

I mean ok, he doesn't play in NCAA but not every good player comes out of collage, and Real Madrid is one of the biggest name franchise in ALL SPORTS, not only basketball, the money, the fame, the fanbase are bigger then NBA teams. Playing in arguably biggest sports club in entire World comes with tremendous pressure and he drops those buzzer beaters, slam dunks lef and right. He's a pro while other players at age of 19 are either in Highschool playing pick-up games or playing in collage with players that in future will go to play in Euroleague with former NBA players. Did Stephen Jackson ever watched a full game of Luka Doncic ? Does he know Slovenia beat Spain at eurobasket for about 20+ points. It was blow-out at the halftime. Luka was the best or the second best player on Slovenia while Spain had Marc,Pau,Rubio and the rest of the gang. Then he killed Porzingis in the game vs Latvia. Every time Porzingis would switch on Luka he scored on him. He already showed he can play against NBA level talent while also being 18-19. What more do you want ? I bet nobody would be doubitng this guys if he was a black kid named DeShawn Williams. They would only care that he was the MVP. No questions asked. I remember siting in a caffe and watching a real madrid game with a friend 3 years ago. And my first time seeing him i was who the f is this guy and grabed my phone. Then my friend jumped in who is a bball player himself and he told me with a straigh face. I played against him, we were at that time 15 he said, can t remember what he said what kind of tournament it was or where, he was 13 then. And he was destroying us all around the court, dunking on us from every position, double triple team doesn t matter. And then we watched the game. Now 2-3 years latter, 2 time domestic league champion, one mvp, two domestic cup wins, euroleague champion, mvp and final four mvp, all first team at the age of 19, holy shit. This guy is no joke i say. This has never happened before, and the euro league was no joke this year believe me. This guy is the real deal.

It's funny how they say how he should prepare for this and that as if college basketball was better than playing against pros... and don't come at me with "bunch of unathletic white guys defence"... euroleague is pretty tough and the team defence is much better than it is in the NBA actually. Everyone is engaged and you don't see guys shooting open threes all the time. Sure it will be a jump for him but it is a jump for everyone...

Imagine the US team in a college NCAA tournament... they would beat everyone by gazillion points... In Europe there are small countries you know... so its hard to form a good national team for the world cup or the olympics but overall the euroleague has a lot of good players and teams.

They made it sound like a bad thing, Suns has been terrible for years, and only couple of those years they tried to tank, most of the time they are a bad team, even if Doncic dropped , it's not really bad for him, he is a good player and will shine, Doncic to the Hawks or the Mavs, can be a much better basketball situation for him than the "don't know how to run team" Suns Kings and Magics.

6’8 ball handler with a really good jumper but I think he’ll have some problems because of his limited athleticism that I’ve seen. He is only 18, so definite room to grow. Also we’ve had high schooler play in Euro. It’s hard playing against grown ass men at the age of 18. He did it at 16, I find that highly impressive to play at that stage that young and hold his own. Now I get its Euro but this kid could put it all together so I see why he should be at least Top 2.

Not many in Europe watch NBA. Probably no one from USA watch basketball from Europe. He is already star and pro. The rest on draft are amateurs playing in some youth competitions. Many of them will have short spell in NBA. Doncic can stay in Europe like Bodiroga did. He plays for Real Madrid. One of the biggest sport clubs on the world. He makes a lot of money already. He does not need to worry about anything. I don't think he even bother about draft. He won everything possible in last year and he is only 19 years old.

Americans fail to understand that european leagues and euroleague have higher level than college basketball, and always underrate good players. However 2 of 3 best centers are European. The MVP and Defensive player of the year are European. Luka has been 2 years on the league and he is all NBA first team. Also Spain won the world cup with mostly spanish league players while the US was 7th with all NBA players, yes they didn't bring the big guns like LeBron James or Steph Curry, but it still was a team full of solid NBA starters.
