As a licensed esthetician I thank you guys for this video cause sometimes people don’t trust me as a professional so hearing actual doctors being pro microneedling is HUGE
@theresanelson96662 жыл бұрын
I like listening to you guys, but I am so confused so I went to my dermatologist and the aesthetician told me that what I was wanting I do not have deep wrinkles. I just want to keep these wrinkles from getting too deep so she told me that micro needling or clear and brilliant would not work for me that maybe laser treatment from the doctor might work, but her best option was Botox and she would not put the Botox on my Neck or by my mouth. She only wanted to do the parts around my crows feet and the 11s which aren’t bad but if it keeps it from making stronger creases, I was for it, but what I don’t understand is why is she against having the micro needling telling me that it probably won’t work and that I need to go into a more drastic change.? I’m serious. My wrinkles aren’t bad yet. I’m 58 and they are just starting to creep in and I’m starting to get that turkey neck and I want it fixed lol help should I find another dermatologist
@anorvedana2 жыл бұрын
@@theresanelson9666 WHAT??? Of course microneedling would help, a lot. As a prevention treatment is KEY, but it’s also amazing to treat actual wrinkles. Unfortunately there are some estheticians and dermatologist that would suggest other treatments that indeed would treat what you’re looking for and faster but it’s more expensive and that it’s convenient for them. I think you should definitely try microneedling and use your retinoids and sunscreen and you would be fine. Mind you, you have to do like 5 sessions and rest for a year and continue after. I would suggest to do the treatment with plasma

I agree but I don't agree with "at home" microneedling as a Licensed Esthetician. Even with warning people to be cautious and follow protocols and sterilization, unfortunately people still won't. I've seen horrifying examples of people who have microneedled at home and they too thought they did all the right things. We are educated and have all the products and tools for this type of procedure in clinic. Ladies and gents, please just go see a professional for a treatment like this. There is a reason we have to be licensed to perform this in a professional setting on people. Trust that and see your local and educated esthetician or derm. 🙏 We will advise you and create a plan specific for you as well as a post care plan for optimal healing and recovery! I'm microneedle at home once a week. 0.5 all over my face and 1.5mm for hair line. I wash my face first, then microneedle, then use a vitamin c oil, followed by a moisturiser. I disagree with needing to change your device after each use. I've been using the same devices for months now, without issue. I simply spray with an anti bacterial spray before use, leave for 5 mins, then rinse off and use. After use, I respray and leave in the case until next time. Since using my fine lines around my eyes have reduced. My black rings around my eyes have massively reduced, and my bags have disappeared. My pores have reduced and I no longer get spots. My hairline has started growing back through and I don't even use minoxidil. My wife said she has even notice a blatant difference around my eyes, especially my dark circles and bags. No need to be scared of it. It doesn't hurt, and so long as you make sure the hygiene part of it is in check then you'll be fine. Note; your supposed to roll and lift then repeat, not just roll continuesly, hence the dragging affect on the banana if you don't LIFT after each roll.

I have my Body Art certificate which allows me to do it, but without it, I wouldn’t be able to as a cosmetologist. Has anyone heard the theory by some doctors which states everyone has a limited supply of collagen and elastin and forcing trauma on the skin eg by microneedling just triggers early formation of the limited collagen we have and therefore could result in premature ageing in the long term? I read the following: ‘What most people don’t understand is that the skin has a limited “store” of collagen and elastin. This means you could be encouraging premature aging’ Dr. Ben Johnson explains this best: “Forcing skin turnover will temporarily result in improved skin appearance, but with time will weaken the skin’s support structure, accelerating aging processes. Furthermore, the skin can recover only about 90 percent from its wounds, so those who continuously wound it are creating a permanent level of inflammation that, over time, leads to skin deterioration.” I’ve had it done afew times and was quite happy with it and thought it was something I’d do forever but not so sure after reading the above. Would be interested to hear anyone’s thoughts? Thank you

My understanding of collagen is thart it's continuously produced and broken down throughout life. It's our body's ability to produce collagen that decreases as we age. This is why people ingest collagen when they're worried about that rather than rubbing it on the skin. I don't think it's a thing we only have one supply of, like eggs for women. However, I could see what he said about the skin not fully healing and the permanent inflammation being true and maybe that's how it could cause premature aging. I'd love to hear these guys' opinion about that!

Dermarolling safely: 1. Cleanse your skin thoroughly; 2. Clean your dermaroll, before and after, with alcohol 99,8%; 3. Don't reuse the same dermaroller more then 4 times. It will damage the needles and cut you, instead of puncturing (ideally, one time use); 4. Use it once a week, to give your skin time to heal (it's enough); 5. For your face, 0,5mm. Scalp, up to 1,5mm. Body, up to 2mm (always start with lower lenght first); 6. Apply equal pressure while rolling. Don't need to press it like crazy. Go in all directions; 7. After use, the skin will be extremely sensible. Wait 12-24h before using products that could be aggressive to the skin; 8. After use and wait time, make sure to use something that will protect your skin (moisterizer, sunscreen etc); 9. If used on your face or scalp, do it at night, so you can make the best of it; 10. For topical minoxidil users, you can skip it on the day of your dermarolling;

I think it's important to remind people to not use actives for a couple days and two consider their skin type. For instance sensitive skin may not be great for at home treatments.

The esthetician I went to advised me against this because I'm black and it would leave some hyperpigmentation . No doctor on KZbin advised against it because of skin color . One lady tried the one with the heat where you had to be numbed with a needle prior and she's darker than me and her skin looks great. I will be giving this a try.

Oh dear. I've seen dermatologists warn against deeper needle depths (from 3.5mm) going into the fat and causing fat loss. And apparently that's all it takes to injure nerves and hit the artery in the jawline. I cancelled my first treatment because they use 3.5mm needles and I just don't want to take any chances. I can't believe how deep Morpheus goes, it sounds insane. Interesting that the Drs don't mention these dangers because so many other licensed derms do, and you can buy DIY dermaroller at those depths which is really irresponsible. I hope your fat loss is from weight loss. I would stay away from that treatment and continue with smaller needles when you're ready.

Just did my dermapen 2mm session at my clinic when this was posted. Before I used to sporadically use a 2mm manual dermastamp. Woah after my session I realized that I did not do my at home sessions thoroughly, manual vs electronic is like day and night. She really got in there to break up the old scar tissue, i could feel what she was doing and even though it was a bit uncomfortable she could reach places I could not on my own, like my jawline bone where a lot of old cystic acne made uneven bumps underneath my skin. II did not bleed at all which was so surprising especially how intense she went, unlike with the dermastamp. The peeling only started this morning and I'm more curious to see the difference compared to when I did it manually. I'm watching your video now.

I've just done my first M8 microneedling at home. 4 Days later, a lot of my facial lines have already started softening. I'm very excited about it, I've done the soft exfoliation today and my skin feels so rejuvenated that I already feel it was money well spent. The money I spent for the device and needles is less than a salon equivalent treatment and I had full control over the depth and pain levels that I could tolerate with a numbing cream. I've had dermarolling done in a salon before, it was not bad, but I didn't seen the same result as I do now with microneedling - I would suggest dermarollers for larger areas such as stretch marks and hair regrowth. The secret to both of these is a good serum. Do not settle for less when you select the serum that you are going to use as you only get a chance to microneedle once a month and the serum will do the majority of the work for the weeks in between. I also bought nano-needles to use once a week between the microneedling treatments and can't wait to start that. I have to wait for a mask, these things are so popular, it is sold out, but I believe that will speed up the rejuvenation process.

I am addicted to home microneedling. Once a month I set my Dr. Pen to 1mm or 1.5mm if I am targeting my acne scars. I only use hyaluronic acid as a slip, but a couple hours later I'll apply Cosrx snail essence because my skin really likes it. I don't even use a pain numbing gel before hand. It's weird, but my mood afterwards is elevated in spite of having a raw face and neck. I attribute this to my body releasing adrenaline and opioid like substances in response to the pain. The tip of the nose is the worst, but I know that we have to suffer for beauty so I soldier through it. My fifty year old skin has tremendous glow because of microneedling, ascorbic acid, and glycolic acid. I am trying to introduce retinol into my routine, but you know how retinoids are. I may have to cut back on something.
@Sure_Sir2 жыл бұрын
I'm close to 40 and have been micro-needling for several months now. What I suggest you do if you are trying to work in a retinol is to be very cautious. I used my tretinoin too soon after one session and I had a slightly red face for some time. What I do now is wait about a week (or so) before thinking about using any retinoids, and then I gradually work up to my tretinoin. I purposely purchase weaker over-the-counter retinols so I can see how my face will react, than I work up to a stronger dose. And before I know it I'm back to using my beloved tretinoin. Idk if this is any help or if it makes any sense. LoL!!!

@@Sure_Sir I think I found the solution for my skin. Previously I was alternating Differin and a 20% glycolic acid product each night. My skin was a blotchy mess. Now I am using Roc Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream every night, and I am going to try exfoliating just once a week with glycolic acid. During the day I use a diy ascorbic acid toner, followed by a moisturizer or sun screen. I put on the Cosrx snail essense before the Roc cream, which buffers the retinol. So far this approach is working for me. I always wait two or three days after microneedling to reintroduce actives. Since I am only using a retinol product and not trentinoin, I am hoping my skin will be ok with retinol after a couple days. Thanks for responding!

In your video about RF microneedling, please talk about the risk of volume loss. This happened to me (it was my one and only cosmetic treatment so definitely was that). My under eyes were not that bad at all before and now I have deep hollows and also look like I have bags because of the loss under my eyes and in my upper cheek. The nurse that did my treatment said she’d never seen this happen before but I’m now learning this is a risk with any heat device. I’m now having to look into PRF gel injections to try to remedy the damage done. I know that RF microneedling can give good results in some people (depending on where and how aggressively it is used), but I want others to know the risks involved so they don’t suffer what I have! There needs to be more education to the practitioners so they can adequately disclose the risks to consumers. How often should regular in-office microneedling be done to maintain the benefits?
@richrich28622 жыл бұрын
Nooooo dont do that injections. There have been studies done that could work in your favour for the loss of fat (I made a dent too with my microcurrent device which I stopped for about a year and the fat us back again no more dent - so dont listen to the myths that you cannot get your facial fat back again). Check out Claudia Glows and The Honest Channel - they speak about 2 different creams that reach deep within the subcutaneous levels to rebuild. But it's not a quick fix though, (I didnt use anything special on my dent it came back on it's own and it was at the apple of my cheek), you could try out both companies for about 3 months each and see how it goes. I'd also advise you to drink lots of rooibos teas. Devices arent the devil its just we are not aware how it would affect us longterm, so basically we are all Guinea pigs even for the clinics....but I started using my microcurrent device again but just for the slight jowl area cos if it disintegrated that cheek fat it can disintegrate the jowl fat heheh

Thanks very informative. I am a 61 year old white male going through a late midlife crises, and I am scheduled for my 1st session of RF Microneedling tomorrow. $650 Canadian 😱

Been doing microneedling for 4 years now, but never at home, I always get medical microneedling done by qualified staff in an aestethic centre with a dermapen, and I love the results, perfect for anti-age prevention.
