A few years ago, I prayed that I would age gracefully. I prayed that I would not run after youth that was obviously in my rearview mirror. Doesn’t mean I have to let it all go, but at the same time, realize that aging is another one of God‘s reminders that we are only here for a short time and that ultimately, we cannot put trust in the temporal. Keep focusing on what is eternal. ❤

Thank you! I needed this today. My life is in turmoil from a job that is so stressful that it is affecting my physical and mental health. I am 57 and with autoimmune issues and my health is my priority. I have been struggling with should I just quit and move back to Ohio to be near family and improve not only my health but my relationship with God. I have a lot of debt and I am scared but I took several deep breaths and gave IT to God! You always inspire me to lean into my faith and trust Gods process😍

When we screw up, we have the wonderful blessing of forgiveness that Jesus gives us when we call on Him to help bail us out. We can start anew. I am grateful that He is our Savior and forgives us where mankind doesn't always give us 2nd chances, or multiple chances. ❤️ We are given challenges and trials for us to choose who we want to follow.

I'm beginning the Bible reading plan for the new year. We start with the book of Job. Job is a hard book. Poor Job suffered greatly, not to mention his family. And God didn't explain anything to him. Yet Job loved God and didn't curse God and die, as his wife suggested he do. We must do likewise. Jon Courson says that "life is not about us, it's about God." We must be brave and courageous and faithful!

I must share this - my last Christmas with my mother (2006), she had recently turned 62 and spent the holiday break alternating between excitement over her upcoming 1st Social Security check and obsessing and having prayers for God to give her a few more years of good looks. She ended up dying in her sleep on 1/2/07 astonishing all as she was extremely healthy and had never smoked or drank as she was always a Godly woman. Think carefully about how badly your looks matter to you...

I relate so much to everything you are saying here. I’m your same age - my life has felt like my nerves are hanging outside my body, because I can be so sensitive to everything. The changes with aging and menopause are very challenging. The struggle with weight gain has been the worse. I’m trying to look at all of it rationally and with acceptance that this is who I am, and we all go through the changing seasons of life. Acceptance really is the answer to all our problems in each minute. I must build on what I have now, and it will be different. ❤

Oh my goodness! I was just talking to my family about this last weekend when we celebrated Christmas! I was like. I need a facelift… I’m really looking old all of a sudden. It’s so hard for a woman to age in today’s society where so much emphasis is placed on our outward appearance. But like you, I have to remember that what is truly important is our inward appearance… do we shine for Christ? Does his light reflect our inner beauty that can only come from Him? Hi, Chynna and Billy, I hope you don't mind a lengthy response, but your talk this morning reminded me of a parable I heard a long time ago and wrote down in my Bible. There was a farmer in Africa who walked miles from his hut to collect firewood. As he walked home with the load of wood strapped to his back, someone from his village came by in a truck and offered him a ride. The farmer got into the flatbed of the truck and down the road they went to their village. When they arrived at the farmer's hut, the driver--his friend--noticed that the wood was still strapped to the farmer's back. "Why didn't you set it down next to you as we drove?" The farmer replied, "You were so kind to let me ride in your truck, the least I could do is carry my own load." The moral of the story is, Some of us (including me) are still carrying our own load. In Leviticus 16 are the instructions to the Levites on how to conduct the services of the Day of Atonement--but it's so much more than that! It's a depiction of the ministry of Christ in Heaven, atoning for our sins with His own blood as the Lamb of God. This is the work that He is doing in Heaven now, according to the Book of Daniel. When we confess our sins to God, we don't have to own the guilt anymore. We don't have to carry it around with us in our consciousness. We don't have to carry or own the shame or the sorrow or the condemnation of that sin anymore! The transferring of ownership of that sin--is first placed on the Lamb of God at the Cross. That's why we don't own it anymore, nor do we need to carry it anymore! Finally, it is transferred to Satan--the Scapegoat--at the Second Coming. If we are not worth the price Jesus paid for our redemption (and ALL of us ARE!!!) then Jesus was cheated. As far as Jesus is concerned, we are worth so much more to Him than we could ever imagine. This is what the book of Leviticus is all about. This is what the Desert Tabernacle--The Sanctuary of God and its Holy Days and various services were all about. To teach us the plan of salvation and the depths of love Jesus endured to save us from the pit of hell. God bless you and have a happy New Year.

You are a hoot Chynna 😂 I admire your natural beauty!! If I went without makeup, I actually look sick - no lie- the eye bags are for REAL! I did a lot out of vanity as well when I was younger (63 now), and I’ve also asked God to help me to accept the things that go along with aging that are beyond my control. All I can do is try to eat right, exercise, and keep living for Jesus 🙌🏻

Look out 2024, this year will be astonishing! Going to be positive and claim that it will be a year that we will grow more in Christ. Less of me and more of him. Thank you for being real Chynna. I can hardly believe that I just turned 60! I thank the Lord, for blessing me allowing more time to spend with my 91 year old Dad. Peace of Christ.
