ill do a few sets of bulgarian split squats, kettle bell swings and walking lunges twice a week, that's about it for legs for me, more just for health in my legs/hips/lower back. For cardio i get a lot during table time, ill rarely stop armwrestling over a 1.5-2h training session, its a pretty constant 7/10 effort for me if i'm doing it properly and im confident that translates to good stamina at the table. i think its difficult but not impossible to be competitive without PED's at an international level, especially if the event is untested and in particular in the super heavies. with a lot of effort and dedication i reckon youd be able to get into a few top10 rankings but those few top 2-3 spots would be difficult (again, not impossible) to get into Au Naturale. for Australia i reckon it would be beneficial to adapt more of the international training styles, quite a few of the armwrestlers i know (including myself lol) don't train with the same discipline and in the same manner as some of the eastern European teams.

Sounds very sensible. I definitely think competing at a high level natural is much more viable in the lower weight classes. And yes Australia still has a ways to go, and part of that is in training methodology. I'm guilty myself of going too hard often and not being very methodical with my table time

I'm shit. I wonder if any 85kg pullers have reached 20 inch arms with a pump? I got pretty close to that. Got to the part where you said you need no legs. I started training legs a few months ago, low volume. Not sure if it's a good idea but I started doing it because my Hamstring, abducter and quad would cramp when I applied more than 60kg of sidepressure

Ive got some good leg mass reducing strats. You need to be lean enough that your body has no choice but to catabolise muscle mass (unless you literally use a wheelchair). Which muscles primarily reduce or stay will mostly be based on how much they are being used relative to each other. Most people don’t get lean enough for this to happen though. But seems to happen to gymnasts including myself. Upper body volume was so much higher. I had twigs lol. running should be fine. But calorie deficit will take a hit on hormones and energy at least until system stabilises. Could be an interesting vid getting hormones tested before and after

@@Adumbfartzarano legit thought about using the wheelchair strat 😂😂 I think the hard thing is at 85ish I'm nowhere close lean enough to catabolise my leg muscle. Maybe I need to go down a class, been wondering this for a while

All very true points. Not only is everyone on that world stage juicing, but many of them have that build for armwrestling. All their body weight is upper body. Look at irakli for example. Massive upper body but his legs at twigs.
