😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Great video. When we lived in Turkey ,we took a summer vacation and drove all the way up to Norway , by way of Denmark , Sweden and Finland. We made it to the most northern part of Norway, and then drove down the coast line , passing all the fjords . A summer I'll never forget. Have you ever been to Norway ?

A lil tip regarding your windshield: Every time you fear there’s a possibility of gravel or debris hitting the windshield, put some pressure anywhere on it with your thumb. If there’s already a crack, put the pressure over it. And there are products that help stop/slow the cracking. I’m from Brazil and we use to do it when driving dirty roads or behind trucks. Good luck!

Well that was an answer to my prayers! I was getting a little worried for some time about you driving all the way up Alaska in that van, as I was literally praying “dear Lord, what if they break down in the middle of nowhere in that old van, hundreds of miles to the next town and surrounded by bears? Please Lord don’t let that happen!” So God let that happen close to civilization, a blessing in disguise! So glad you’re able to continue your trip!!

Hi Marianne/Chris, quick tip: Hold your outstretched palm on/against the windshield every time a vehicle passes by. So glad Trudy is able to keep going despite her leakage problem. We spent the night in Tok too while the Ford Pinto was in the garage. We were lucky, just needed a couple of spark plug wires replaced. This was in 1975 and we were camping in a tent like your German hitch hikers. I think I would like it much better now in a campervan, so glad I have my "Eva" to travel in as I get older. My go-to for mosquitoes is Repel, lemon eucalyptus and mosquito clothing, I did that when I went to Costa Rica, worked great. Studies have shown that mosquitoes land more on people with type O blood, which I have. They have also found that people who wear Black, dark blue or red, attract mosquitoes by their eyesight. In Alaska, I don't think they are as particular. Good luck and continued safe travels. Hope you find your Grizzly.

Hi Guys, you can use any of the brake fluids in the system as it’s not getting hot and just compressing. The trick for you is to keep topped up so you don’t ingress air which will cause the loss of the clutch. I would check as often as possible as the hose is not going to get better! Most important, keep safe.

Thanks. Enjoy your videos but as a Pommie bastard who moved to Australia in 1987 we quickly found out that sunscreen, a hat and mozzie repellant were essentials. We lived near the Gippsland Lakes (the biggest inland waterway in the Southern Hemisphere). Consequently the mozzies would carry you away and eat you if they could. Therefore after putting on the sunscreen in the morning we would apply mozzie repellant. We quickly found out that Aeroguard was no good as the mozzies would drink it but Rid was excellent in not being eaten alive. Perhaps this comes too late to help you and perhaps they don't sell Rid in North America.

Marianne and Chris, may I suggest another tool for your traveling while in Alaska? With all the gravel roads you come upon consider adding a windshield/windscreen repair kit. If you were to get a rock chip or crack, the windshield repair kit could keep your windshield/windscreen from cracking any further. You can find the kit at a Walmart or any auto parts store. Very much enjoying watching your travels. You have taken many of us with you and we are very much enjoying your ventures. Blessings!!

Terrible guys the very same problem gadget John and Mandy are having with their 2 Fiat Peaugot Citron camper gearboxs, hope you guys get it sorted., also guys don't forget to power wash all the area underneath and in the engine bay, where the brake fluid has penetrator, because brake fluid has the same components as paint stripper, and will remove the paint and cause a lot of rust in no time at all.

My, but Paddington has grown! Must've taken a *lot* of marmalade sandwiches! This video showed me the tradition of going over washboards whilst singing "aaaaahhhh" is international!! I was belly laughing right along with you! 🤣🤣 Always stressful to see your vehicle get an unplanned lift, but when it's also your home... 😬😬😬 To all the You-shouldas, we have a saying in the States: "Run Whatcha Brung." Trudy the Treadvan is a champ. Any fans of the programme "Firefly" knows what it takes to keep a ship in the air (or a van on the road) -- Love. And Chris and Marianne (and Ersel!) have plenty of it for Trudy!! ❤️❤️😎👍xx

If you get a "star" shaped rock chip... you can have an injection of some sort of fluid that will keep the crack from spreading..... you can just look up a place that will repair rock chips....

You should be able to find a mobile hose service like Parker, they will custom make a hose. They are in high demand in mining due to the hydraulics in heavy machinery
