They need to possibly merge with Emerald.. Emerald is usually always good. Oshur and CTF are good. You need to have Emerald pop to know it's all good. The game isn't bad, it needs Emerald pop for people not on Emerald.

I played recently and I had totally awful game experience. Everything feels wrong. If I see CTF hex - I pass, if I see fight at containment site - I pass, if I see poor sundy on the empty hex - pass. This game is broken and don't work properly anymore. Oshur is garbage, now I'm having stuttering somehow, but it wasn't a case before. Omg, I have no words. Devs just don't learn anything, they don't know what is Planetside 2 and where it should go. I'm so angry right now. On Miller I feel like only old mlg pro players still playing, they cheesing, doing zergfit stuff and its very difficult to get a decent game when playing solo against them. I mean they playing like that because it's only way to get some fun for them, but I don't wanna sweat all the time and just want to have a chill infantry farm with random noobs. But I see the same nicknames every fgn time when kill someone or die from someone. This is unacceptabaaaaaale!

I bailed around the time the asians got kicked off that server and the resulting drop in server population, other than their terrible mic's they weren't that bad, any one who adores ps2 and helps keep the server populated is ok in my books.

I assume there Japanese because of the emblem I see when they capture a base. It looks like a Japanese flag. What server are you on now? If you still play.

We entered the death spiral. Not enough devs to update the game -> players leave -> revenue drops -> no incentive to hire more devs to add stuff and attract new players. Nothing can save the game, but it may stay technically alive this way for another decade.

Well the major problem is instead of them waiting for PC hardware to catch up, they stripped the game of everything and made it worse over time. Now its just leftover spaghettified nonsense. Both with its internal code and gameplay.

Crowdfunding is the best we can hope for to keep the servers up. They will have to do what some rogue servers of lineage 2 used to do and have a yearly server running required amount of donations for the game to remain. Or release the code so randos can create and mod them into private servers.

Some positive KZbin content would probably help. If I was a new player looking for videos on whether the game was worth trying, I wouldn't exactly be rushing to install the game. It's a weird and probably self-defeating approach to say "I love this game so I'm going to shit on it in damn near every video". Constructive criticism is good but there's a line somewhere where it becomes constant complaining that puts people off the game and your channel.

I would be pissed if PS2 shut down, I gladly spend money on membership, weapons and cosmetics to support the developers, this is absolutely a fantastic game to jump onto once or twice a week and get a few hundred kills run sundurers and chill out while watching videos while your team spawns, enjoy the look of your vehicles and soldiers while running aimlessly and dieing

I tried getting into planetside 2 again recently, purchased $75 worth of credits and never received them. I messaged customer support and didn't get a reply or resolution for THREE weeks. I wanted to give the game a chance but with customer service like that, I just got a refund and uninstalled it.

How come no one acknowledges that whenever oshur becomes the only continent opened, 90% of the players LEAVE, and most of them don't come back even when other continent gets unlocked? How come no one sees how bad that "capture the flag" is?

Planetside players are such whales. So many spend hundreds of dollars a year on membership and separately on cosmetics and weapon variants. Poor product management killed off many high paying players. Leaving well known bugs in the game for years at a time will continue to kill it.

If there was one update I would want for Planetside on console, it would be to get rid of Oshur, and unlock Esamir with Oshur's continent bonus. And then give Indar and Amerish continent bonuses that make people want to do the alerts like Hossin and Oshur (tank discounts and 100 to all shields)

Planetside 2 on the PS4/Xbone generation of consoles was a stillborn idea, the CPU in those consoles was never ever suitable for running the game.

It uses a couple of cores, and it is only playable because modern CPUs have much more per-core performance than the garbage CPU found in the PS4. The PS4's CPU is roughly equivalent to an FX8120 underclocked to ~1.8GHz. Go try playing the PS2 PC version on an FX8120, or something comparable, and see how many FPS you get. The CPU in the PS4 is absolute garbage, and they should have known that it will not be good enough.

Said this ~3 weeks ago. Now EG7 confirmed it officially. And while I wish this game would survive and get better, I doubt it will turn the tide. The game was never good at attracting and holding new players. And the changes over the last ~5 years really put a lot of long term players off. And the additions didn't benefit the majority of players, but only a handful. The carrier for example, maybe fun for 1-12 players, but is a plague for 100s of players on the ground. Pocket OS: 100 players having a good fight. 1 player clicks on the map, fight over. Construction... And last, the horrible balancing decisions. Among them: Instead of buffing the survivability of new players, the gave them the tools to kill or at least annoy players with 1000s of hours in the game. So what could the 11. anniversary update bring us that will change all that? It's a bummer. I loved this game once.

The remaining players will get that ich and with nothing to satisfied it they'll go a bit mad and will hopefully make their new MMO/FPS to replace PS2 and pull a BattleBit.

I played in the beta and stayed on for about 6 years. I hate to say it but I think what got me was how complicated things got. I liked it a lot more when base building, implants, orbitals and carriers just didn’t exist.

I think they had a winning formula and tired to win too hard. There was enough strategy behind the flow of resources, and a few vehicles to play a well thought out game of rock paper scissors with while keeping the spirit of a classic shooter. Everything else just made balancing harder, and gameplay too nuanced to jump in for a fun hour or two.

Theres like 30 devs. They need a new title, Planetside 2 is out of date , and I feel like if they make a new game it needs to be future proofed, it need crossplay and maybe even a single player to get people into the Planetside Lore. I sometimes capture those CTF bases just to open neighboring base for a fight. It's boring, and often no one even tries to stop me. I think Oshur could be slightly fixed by adding more bases with vehicle terminals.

if they want to save the game.. open the map back up, ditch the lanes and go back to having an open map, spawns die so fast because theres way way to many people in 1 place because there is literally nowhere else to be, look at the vic changes alot were made for standstill fights, zerg vs zerg not the open map it used to be where you can move around the map give the game its spontaneity back instead of logging in to the same fights people will enjoy it again. spent years on cobalt being able to cause problems for other factions because we could push in any direction

it really was better when you could attack anywhere. More fights, and ghost capping was something fun and viable for people that did not want to follow a zerg and still be useful. Creating a meta that gamers have to follow always kills a multiplayer game. Letting players do stuff the way they want to will be attractive to a lot of players. a big reason I stopped was because if you want to be effective you would have to join a clan and participate in large scale assaults with people that have no idea what they are doing most of the time. I think PS2 is going to be dead in the near future. I miss being able to have a spawn beacon as a solo squad player, the ability to create your own squad and then hop out after a bit. Now it is like a job and no one wants to be a SL. Small effective squads that could outsmart the zergs were the most exciting gameplay at the time.

They implanted lanes for 2 reasons, horror vacui, which means fear to scattered pop in small fights and a push for large orgs. To me was an erroneous path and I said it in several occasions. PS2 without lanes was more fun and chaotic, the perfect scenario for small orgs and noobs trying to make their name. After the introduction of construction a new possibility was in hand, that player made bases act as node in the net, changing constantly the map, but in fact what we have is the bases protecting nodes and some scattered bases without purpose. Perhaps other players may think different, but that concentration hurts diverse gameplay and fun.

@@axlandgamer3332 also they took away being able to create your own single squad. Which helped a lot to meet new people when you got home from work and plopped on for a night. Would blossom into making your own outfit sometimes as well. Now it is basically impossible for solo players to form new groups. Like wtf was the petty reasoning behind removing the capabilities for solo players to meet and communicate with each other in a simple and effective manner. Half the fun was going down the squad list and finding a solo squad for some tight small squad cooperative play. Now squads are only reserved for the prefabricated outfits. And good luck getting anyone to join your own without playing door to door salesman.

They need to move on to Planetside 3, but their new maps should be about 2/3 the size of Planetside 2 maps to ensure the maps stay full. The graphics in PS2 still look great, and gameplay works fine, but there's so much content that has practically been abandoned because it lacks the player base to enjoy it.

Simple things they can do that would bring people back: - Remove pocket orbitals - Give better incentives to alert wins (more implants or something like this) - Have an occasional anomaly (once or twice a day) and a max alert (once a day) - Look for player moderators within the community to combat hackers - Add a delay until you can start shooting after decloaking like with the implant

as a pro infil i assure you a guns delay will not save you from a cloaker they are the weakest for a reason and no amout of health lost or delay given will save you from stalkers or snipers even with no scope while cloaked infiltraitor class is a mental game....understanding when and where to decloak is a MASSIVE part of it. your and community reccomended nerfs always make me laugh because the best will find work arounds and still be there to get you as if nothing changed. after that what god will you cry to? all i can simply say is skill issue my friend as you made yourself an easy target

I am sure more than half the playerbase wants this and agree with each and everyone of these suggestions, this clearly isnt a case of tug and pull were one side wants something and the other wants the opposite, it is the devs wrapped themselves in a bubble with the god complex and listen only to people that confirm what they belief in, its confirmation bias. Among the years I been watching streams of Planetside which are FAR FAR more than years played I seen game veterans come up with the same line of suggestions. If they havent listened after 10 years, they are just NOT willing to. You can toss all these ideas in the garbage. What are the devs after then? Easy, that "Attempt" to break Guinness World Record for a second time using the very SAME game nonetheless was nothing more than a "Hey we break records, we own this IP, no other game does this, who wants to buy it?" marketing strategy. They know it takes too much work to fix this game and to do their own damn jobs, when making bank selling a unique game is so much much easier. This game has had a For Sale tag for years now and instead of having a watchful eye to fix the game they have a watchful eye on WHO comes to the market to imitate them and where can they sue for copyright infringements for a large payout. This is the stage they look to sue or get bought, they are looking for a work-free large payout to move on. They will NOT by any means allow any similar game from another company emerge, you can count on it.

People would definetly come back for an ipotetic third chapter because people love the game; we simply hate to see it in this state of confusion on what the game want to be. and about the onestly, there is no other game like Planetside 2. How many games have combined Arms, FPS gameplay, gigantic maps (not all goods, i'll admit) ? none. So let's stop telling ourself that Planetside have no market. It has it, It's just poorly exploited. Planetside 2 will definetly die. But for sure it will not be replaced for a long time (unless some other company FINALLY see the potential of this concept and decide to do a similar game)

I get that it has issues, but I'd like to see those issues addressed, instead of the whole-hog approach of "Oshur isn't fun to me, so let's delete the whole thing" I see people pushing for.

Me and MissAtley enjoyed Oshur for construction wars though we did have complaints and the newer versions just kinda it made it worse rather than better. Furthermore there were too many choke points to exploit and Artillery needed to be rebalanced from the beginning. Honestly it had potential for all to love but showed a clear lack of understanding in all fields of gameplay. That made us ask do they even play this game that their developing?

there are games in development right now as we speak that will come out somewhere between 2028-2035 that has an idea of big scale wars. With either 10k players or 50k players. But over big big maps. Like universal size maps. And some areas will be more contested then others where you have a glimps of a big fight between 1000 or even 3000 people at once. But this games are still just prototypes and they are most likely gonna have more NPC's then real players. But it will happend, just not right now. Not as a follow up to the planetside genre. The COOP game called: outpost infinity siege is such game, it will come be released between 2024 and 2025. Its a 4 man FPS with a siege tower defence game play and it will have 100 000 NPC's coming at you all at once which you can shoot down individually.

That is the problem, big maps can be a double edge blade because the player must not feel emptiness. To me is not a problem because I like emptiness and really big maps and distant objectives, but probably most players will not like to move several miles to reach the next objective. On the other hand a really big map is more difficult to memorize and that could have implications.

its bcs of society evolution. squads should be run by people in their 20s or even their teens. As the algorthyms have improved significantly all those people that are in position of leadership are being snatched up. The competition is super high in gaming rn and planetside is between a strategic war game and an fps arcade right now, you can fix it by increasing capture timers. There should be at least 200 people in every faction on prime time.

It's such a fucking shame, i love this game, it's the best only experience i ever had, if we lose it, there will with absolute great certainty never be another one like either PS1 or PS2, it's a formulation that is unlike any other with colossal potential, PS2 represents it's own genre and there is no replacements coming, i fear that it may have exhausted it's eight lives and is on it's last chance, i will be crushed when that dreadful day comes, i just hope it's a long time from now...

1:10 dude if they fckn do that I'd totally come back to the game !!!!! It sucks for me to play at 220+ ping on Connery (It used to be around 170 when I started playing back in 2012, but it got worse over the years...) & I have like 120~ ping on Emerald. Sadly my main character is on Connery... & Im so attatch to it since it has pretty much every infantry weapon unlocked... & 60% between all vehicles. And lets not start talking about Implants... farming those was a pain in the balls...

10k hrs here, finally got a good pc , to play tarkov and such. Went back to planet side and saw the lack of energy in squad comms, a complete 180 from last years outfit wars. No Air pilots just kamakazie a2g , really low pop dead fights . i said.. " GG planetside" and logged off for what felt like the last time. o7 , KN1 ,TRAF , PIGS , SKL , 1TR , FedX , Air Knights like Rguitar , k/d lords and role play mil simmers alike. I hope they Nuke the servers with asteroids like they did with PS1 and give it a proper send off. See you all in planetside 3 VR i guess . :(

Hey can you please answer me I've been trying to figure out if they would ever do anything for ps4/ps5? And tbh I feel like the game is dying bc of how they changed all the stuff from the past.. like a shotgun can hit you from a distance and all the other bs that got added.. after years of me getting good in air combat dealing with the best pilot (NotHitting) and the 2nd (vladslav) and 3rd (mtachter) on the ps4 the game dies and i can't enjoy flying or ground fights there alway a truce or an over pop on tr and it sucks .. they should make a massive update for ps4/ps5 and pc so it could re-populate bc im sure that's what ppl waiting on just a big good update of what they want or close to it

The fact that they spawn you in a completely different area where you can grab some random missions and then you have to spawn to the continent you want which may or may not be full, then you gotta find a good battle. The devs fucked this game up with these stupid HQ's, just let me play the game once i log in. It takes like 5 minutes just to get to a battle.

I think the game is good, but it depends on good population to have good fights, and the new player experience is bad. I also think the game should have a 2x base multiplier on exp. New players want to try new weapons and, with the default exp, you spend a lot of levels leveling up your abilities, suit slot, etc. When i made my second character i bought two boosters and i had a way better experience. I got hooked for months even when there was low population. Even with a booster, you are gaining maybe 500-1000 certs per day without counting the certs you gain per level, and you have to level skills that cost like 1500 certs to max, and you have to do it for each class. If there's a problem with noobs surviving why don't they make the suit slots, abilities etc. Unlocked from the beginning at max rank?

Yes it will likely be shut down next year. EG7 are a front company for Columbus Nova (now renamed as a result partly of the Feds investigating and sanctions) through Epstein and his buddy from CN, also in the same company, also at DBG for a while before giving up the pretense. Columbus Nova was a front company for Renova, which is run by the Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg. They're desperately trying to shuffle things around to avoid the Feds and look legit. So they have to pretend to care about real returns, rather than all the tiny transactions that work so well for money laundering. Look up the hilarious attempts by Renova/Columbus Nova/DBG to try and hide who the real owners were, even trying to falsify their ownership records, Wiki entries and public statements.

I think Planetside 2 is outdated. I feel like if they had enough momentum. Things like crossplay could work but again. Its outdated and its not really moving forward fast enough when we are in an era of consistent updates and new content, planetside 2 has fallin behind. I wish there was a plaetside 3 with new things but man. Idk I think its over for Planetside.

I mean, yeah. But if you complete some specific dailies you could get a 1000 cert gun in 1 day, if you're decent enough @FPS games... Also, you could buy a cheaper gun, & when u get the purple medal with it you should be able to buy 3-5 more guns... I think it would be absolutely boring to unlock everything in just 1 week of gameplay....

yeah the gun grind is the smallest part of the game, since you need 1160 kills to aurax a gun for the directives, implants is the real grind with the most gameplay impact, which most new players dont even see

Honestly oshur and hossin off hours make me log off faster than anything. As a part of r18 we always get the blame for killing the servers and yet we always brought fights we always brought more people into our outfit and we were just trying to keep the game alive by bringing fights like the games prime time. People in the community ruined it by turning wrel into this massive spearhead for lobby shooters which planetside will never be. R18 didn't ruin nothing the community did

PS 2 kinda deserve it... and i am happy if it dies sooner... me and my friend kinda predicted it by the way they treated casual player, sunderer player and construction player.... yes planetside 2 is FPS to the core... but before you do the action to achieve that fps gameplay you need logistic, and reinforcement planning or flanking route that sunderer player comes big slow moving truck with weapon that barely able to defend itself, but now look at it, 2 c4 to reduce it to ash, or how easy it is to destroy it by tank or some people with jetpack and c4. you got bog down on one choke point, ooo yeah you got ANT can flank out those point, well for now good luck finding flanking route without got followed by ESF or tank because DEV remove the ANT cortium stealth capture point to far. ooo yeah you got router, but now what.... you need to build base 500 meters from target enemy base for it to work, ooo make it harder for contruction player to defend its base, remove auto turret and pain spire, and while we contruction player looking to mine cortium, our base most of the time got destroyed by planes tank or got infiltrated... because they remove automation damn you.. i as construction player, we may not a good shooter like you or commander cysus but at least we can keep the logistic going. and keep new player or rusher player short time to go to action.. but what the game do... neft contruction like it was a plague and barely playable... now most contruction player left the game because its no point, their time, their spent a lot of cert just to build decent router and vehicle base. all goes down the drain

As one of those players who fell off the game all the way back in the months after its launch I honestly can't say I'm all that surprised to hear about the current state of the game a decade into the future. From my own experience both with the launch and my brief returns for the releases of Amerish and Hossin PS2 definitely didn't present a great first impression, that paired with the game feeling like nothing had actually changed for the better didn't encourage me to stick around, falling ever further behind in the cert/unlock grind certainly didn't help. On a semi-related note, the launch of Planetside 2 was certainly an odd one as far as I can recall. It really felt like whatever amount of hype that had been built up prior to its launch almost immediately evaporated the moment the game went live and really felt like, on the youtube side of things, nobody really seemed to notice it had come out.
