I've talked about this one briefly in the past but since it's coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service on February 17, 2021, it's worth looking into it more.
New SNES-related video every Tuesday, and something else (Genesis, Game Boy, whatever) on Thursdays
SNESdrunk and NESfriend team up for a podcast, DrunkFriend, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and many other platforms: link.chtbl.com/OxWjbR12

As someone who grew up with the Genesis, sometimes I think kids who grew up with SNES just didn't fully appreciate the beautiful array of colors games like Prehistorik Man brought to the table.

The best part of this game is that every level you’ll be introduced to new game play mechanics, instead most platform game just changing the theme. What the game probably suffered most from is that is got released far into the lifespan on the SNES. So very few people have a nostalgia factor playing.

I've always loved this game growing up, the characters actually go a little deeper than what he brought out, the scientists invents different tools for you to use, the one with the hat informs you about different enemies in the area, so they each have a purpose in how they help you, its actually really awesome the way it feels like an actual adventure, and you feel like the other characters really do join you, it is flawed but its actually a lot of fun.

Yeah, this game is actually really good. I do think you are way too hard on it - but at least you point out some real flaws that do exist in the game, like some of item-platforming levels. One thing that "ruined" the game for me is that you actually get 4 bones from enemies if you defeat them via jumping on them - which made me use the club less. I do think the club is kinda awesome in this game, it feels good when you start hitting on an enemy - so there to be an incentive to not use it is boring. I think it is same with the weapons - they are all amazing, but you get less bones again. Still, that's just a thing that's up to the player to decide if they want to use or not. IGAvanias have the same flaw.

Huh, I did not notice the camera workings! I didn't even know about this game before it was added to Nintendo Switch Online, although I do know Titus from Titus the Fox - To Marrakech and Back. I enjoyed it a whole lot! It is very hard, but that was fun also. As you said, the gimmick controls are hard to get used to, and I feel that it's a shame that each only gets used once. Sure, they're hard to use, but once you finally learn how to do so, you beat the level and don't get to use it again for the rest of the game. I however only have two major issues with the game: first, it should have had a more conventional save system. The continue thing is cool, but the issue is that if you don't have enough bones and are playing on the Super Nintendo, you just have to give up when you want to quit. This wasn't an issue for me, as I could use the save state function, but I think it is definitely a major disadvantage of the game. Secondly, while the levels are a lot of fun to 100%, the game as a whole is not set up for it. You don't know how much you've found in a level until you've completed it, and you can't go back into it once you have. I was hoping to unlock a level select after beating the game, so I could go back to the levels I hadn't found everything in yet.
