Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: bit.ly/EvalQuiz
In this video, Dr. Berg talks about red meats and what the actual study that most people use to prove that red meat is bad, really says. The Nurse Health Study was an observational study based on a questionnaire. This is not the best way to do a true study.
The real danger is consuming red meat has to do more with the added nitrates, that GMO corn and soy commercial meats contain. Grass-fed beef has more omega-3 fatty acids and all studies on meats were focused on commercial animals, not grass-fed animals.

I worked on a dairy farm in Wisconsin in my younger days. the owner of the farm was paid more per pound than any other farm around because he made sure his cows only ate what they grew and the proteins and minerals we used came from known sources with high quality and strict standards. if you want good food, see us small farmers. it's easier to properly manage smaller outfits. Grass fed red meat and pork saved my life during 2 years on dialysis. I got all my iron, zinc, potassium and other vitamins and minerals naturally while most other patients received injections for theirs. I've since been transplanted with new kidney and still eat modest amounts of fatty steaks, pork, chicken and lamb among with cruciferous vegetables. I do the apple a day bit also.

@@AvidadoVini You can see how chimpanzees love to hunt monkeys whenever they get the opportunity. Meat is much denser in calories than any plant. Early humans became really good at hunting after inventing tools, so meat became a primary source of food, and it remained that way for a long time until humans learned how to farm. Humans are so intelligent in the first place, because we evolved to be excellent hunters. Predatory mammals tend to have the highest levels of intelligence among mammals as a whole.

Clorox Bleach this is a very silly statement, you absolutley can treat acne with diet and most of the people watching dr. Bergs videos are type trying to avoid alleopathic or western medicine. We dont want their antibiotics, steroid creams and the rest of their side effect causing, money making toxic medicines. We want natural cures and well running bodies that can heal itself.

If you suffer from skin conditions, especially if you are young, it would be highly advisable to eat a lot of vegetables especially broccoli in very high amounts. It is very important that you do this first before you start introducing food like brats back into your diet. Just because it felt good does not mean it was good for you, street drugs and alcohol come to mind. If you crave meat choose a "better" option such as pasture raise, free range meat.

I grow a lot of veggies and love eating them, but i tried vegan for 6 months and i fell apart. GI tract issues, gas and the runs constantly, weak, lethargic, moody, trouble sleeping etc. Ironically i know i am not alone, because most of my vegan clients complain of the same things. Now i just do keto and eat once a day, and feel amazing. I still get my blood work done once a year at the VA because it's free and every year they tell me the same thing. My bloodwork is perfect. Anyway, I'm sure I'm going to get attacked by a bunch of Veganazis for posting this. Oh well. Having spent some time in the community my observation was it's more of an emotional decision then an intellectual or health-based one. I actually understand the decision because I love animals and have lots of them myself.

@Dennis Coen "how could anyone survive a war without alcohol and tobacco" Uhhh, really easily? I mean, spending less time drunk certainly lessens your chances of getting ambushed and shot. Meat on the other hand is great for your body as it was what our ancestors ate preferentially. You can see the evolutionary evidence in our eye orientation (front facing indicates a hunter/carnivore) and in the evidence that our brains actually preferentially use ketones (from fats) as energy even in the presence of glucose.

Tyler h and how exactly is meat good for you?
@SenhorTudo
@SenhorTudo 5 жыл бұрын
@@tylerh629 I don't think that meat was a PREFERENTIAL diet: more like it was an absolute NECESSITY. As our ancestors moved around the planet, the habitats - and plant-life - changed, so that certain plants they were accustomed to eating in one place were no longer available in another. They therefore did not know what they could eat in the new areas. Meat, however, is very easy to identify, much more so than plant material. Basically, if it moves around of its own volition, it's meat. It may not have been the tastiest, but all the nutrients the half-men needed were there. Besides, about 60% of the brain (ALL animal and bird brains, by the way,) is FAT, something that very few plants can supply.

I appreciate you being very detailed in all your videos just like you did in this one with the meat (was it organic, grass fed, fast food, were the people doing something and just pretty much making it clear that there are other variables involved since it wasn’t a controlled study). It really brings awareness and it makes me realize that I should be careful when reading studies to make sure they are being specific about what kind of food, protocols or supplements they use. You brought out sooo many important points, but it is so hard to counteract decades of fear mongering and perpetuation of misinformation (by some with great and obvious bias, by some with innocence). Ironically, I just gently browned some grass fed ground beef for my daughter today while sharing with her what a gold mine of concentrated nutrition it is, especially for a growing girl of menstruating age. The first thing he said was no red meat to which I asked why? He said the doctor says so and that was puzzling to me. I will forward your video to him as part of education because I feel he is not investing the time to educate himself to understand food health. I've hung around him long enough to observe what he ate and it wasn't red meat that was issue but all the processed food including lots of fried and beer drinking esp late in the evenings into late night. He's somewhat in denial of how he had a heart attack but I I'm encouraging him to do his research and find what works for his body and benefits if home cooking instead of eating out consistently. I understand people that are concerned about factory farmed meat. They feed the cattle grains, corns, or even skittles as we seen the other week. And they are injected with antibiotics, live a crappy life and are killed brutally. And I am against that. But you can support smaller farmers or homesteaders that raise their own cattle and raise them humanely, grass fed, no added hormones and they get put down quickly and humanely. No need to attack meat. It's really not much different than the big farms growing GMO vegetables and fruits that are sprayed with pesticides.

I'm vegetarian, not because I am afraid of eating meat but because I simply love animals and current methods are just too cruel and unhealthy. Old fashioned methods, which are now termed organic are much better as people don't need to eat as much of any animal daily. It may be true about red meat but it needs research in the way Dr Berg suggested, looking at variables. Personally, I think it has to do with feeds, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides and the cruelty element (locked in cages in barns eating unnatural, gmo- -foods, pumped with drugs) that is causing most of the problems. Also Dr Berg, as well as others,have said that humans can affect their organs detrimentally with stress, I think the same thing happens to other animals and they definitely suffer that. The one thing veggie diet did for me was to boost my immune system. Everywhere I went people had flus and colds, viral infections and the like and I didn't catch it once. Have been following Dr Berg and been on veggie keto for 3 months and weight wise has made some difference. I do enjoy his videos and I don't have to agree with everything. In the end each to their own with regards to eating animals.

Dr. Berg, I have been a vegetarian my whole life. I am a big guy, about 6'4'' 215 lbs. I do feel though that something is lacking my diet at times, and feel like I may be not getting enough B vitamins amongst other things. A few years ago I began eating eggs (i have always eaten cheeese) and that seemed to help a bit. I have a feeling that red meat could help me, but I can never do that---it is just too ingrained on multiple levels that I stay a vegetarian...my question is, what could I eat (other than poultry/fish) that could help me in this regard?

While I commend vegans who TRY eating a healthy diet, most of the ones I know are weak, out-of-shape and are suffering from numerous nutritional deficiencies and immune system ailments. Sure, I eat a ton of fresh vegetables and fruits...but I also eat moderate amounts of high-quality organic meats as well (grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, wild salmon, etc.) along with Irish Butter, Norwegian fish oils and more. Vegans, you can--and should--eat moderate amounts of free-range eggs, Irish Butter and organic milk products without guilt of supporting the horrendous conditions found in most slaughter factories. Don't listen to what Purdue's studies say you should eat...and don't listen to the Vegan community whose studies are equally misguided...instead, listen to your common sense. It's doesn't take a lot of work to eat a healthy diet, but it takes a lot of ignorance to eat a diet consisting largely of processed/refined frankenfoods or a plant and grain based diet that starves your body and mind of vital nutrients. Dr. Berg was correct when he uttered the words, "Where's the [organic] beef?"

I am not a vegan but you are wrong when you say 'Vegans, you can--and should--eat moderate amounts of free-range eggs, Irish Butter and organic milk products'. The very nature of being vegan is that they do not eat anything that is or comes from an animal, you are confusing them with vegetarians who do eat milk and eggs.

you would? so you would trust an organization that is ran for profit over tons of doctors, gotcha.. lol this is laughable health.howstuffworks.com/diseases-conditions/cardiovascular/cholesterol/difference-between-ldl-and-hdl-cholesterol1.htm Your body, mainly your liver, produces 75 percent of your cholesterol; your small intestine also aids in both the creation and absorption of cholesterol [source: AHA]. The average diet adds another 300 to 500 mg of cholesterol [source: Schafer]. This external cholesterol comes from animal and dairy products. But even if you eat foods without cholesterol, the carbs, fats and proteins all break down eventually and release carbon, which your liver turns into cholesterol. www.intoxicatedonlife.com/2012/06/13/what-is-cholesterol-and-where-does-it-come-from/ Aproximately 25% of cholesterol in our bodies on a given day comes from what we eat (300-500 mg) and 75% is produced by our bodies (800-1200 mg). Because cholesterol is vitally important for our survival, every cell in our body can make cholesterol. Out of the cholesterol that our bodies make, 20% is made exclusively by our liver and the remaining 80% of cholesterol is made by the other cells throughout our body. www.livestrong.com/article/28917-organ-produces-cholesterol/ The human body produces about 75 percent of the cholesterol in it at any given time. The liver is the largest internal organ in the body and is responsible for cholesterol production. www.papafit.com/cholesterol.html Our own bodies makes about 75% of the Cholesterol and the cholesterol we digest from the food, called Dietary Cholesterol, is a maximum of 20% of the total cholesterol in our body. i guess they are all wrong and your precious heart association is right trying to sell statin drugs to protect their product LOL sorry the american heart association is not known for truth

Let's not forget every time we eat out at most restaurants this isn't the case nor are the milk and dairy products. I’ve been eating Carnivore for almost three months now, and I love it. (all meat - zero carb. Zero veg. Meat +water) Never felt better. I am obese and have been trying numerous lifestyles and diets etc. but never found anything truly sustainable. I tried keto but honestly I never felt full. As much as I tried to eat copious amounts of vegetables to better my health, I could never make it work - always hungry, bloated, and never a difference in how I felt. Started on Carnivore and my cravings... GONE. I can’t tell you what a relief it is to not be controlled by food. I also do various types of fasting. I’ve been IF for a couple of years, with a few longer 7 day water fasts. At present I am 13 days into a fast that started out as a dry fast for 5 days and the slowly introduced water back in. I feel great and have no real desire to stop until my body says otherwise. It was easy starting my fast out of carnivore, because my sugar ravings were already gone. The nice thing is I know if I stop my fast and return to Carnivore, it won’t be hard to do another fast because this one was not really a hardship. Sure I had moments of struggle - social events, serving pizza at grand babies b’day, rituals of celebrating with food, but I just ask myself what is more important to me right now, my health or this food opportunity. Long winded I know, but it’s nice to share. As of this morning I am down 59lbs, feel great, no gyms or treadmill crap (exercise is fine, but I don’t believe man was meant to run in place for 30+ minutes 5 times a week to survive. There’s lots of constructive ways to move outside). Having said that it’s February in Canada, it’s -15c. I use my snowblower when necessary. That’s it. Down 59lbs! Brain feels better, body feels better, sleep is better. All with a high fat predominantly red meat diet and fasting. LESSONS LEARNED: Sugar - bad!!!! Processing foods - bad! Eating natural foods and listening to your body to find what works for you - very good!!

A healthy BMI but I didn’t eat regularly and sometimes that small meal consisted of a cup cake or a serve of chocolate. Good in some ways and not so much in the essence. After the Operation, 3rounds of Chemical Therapy and as much Radiotherapy as my body old handle, am fine 14 years later. Now, I make sure I eat red meat without the fat cut off and on eating decide then how much to consume. I find a TBone steak with the fillet steak on, will take four-five meals to consume. I don’t like potatoes or veggies but comes and goes with me. I have to really want to eat something that can alter my overall preferences. Some regular verges hit my stomach and my body kicks it out. I did not realise how sensitive to certain foods my system can be. Down right precious if you ask me but I’m fine and have a plan to live into my 120th year. Love your program. I eat only organic and butter and this and that because life can get you through, until you go, just like that.
