@ErykaSoleil5 жыл бұрын
Kira Ward : One of the most awful aspects of true hoarding is that you *do* think you're going to use it, or that there is a real possibility that you might need it one day (and that if you do get rid of it, you will immediately need it). As someone who's got a bit of family history with it, let me say that hoarding is a very distressing complex for the person experiencing it, and anyone who thinks that it's just laziness or selfishness should really read up on the psychology involved. It can be absolutely debilitating, and it's usuallynot really something the person can control on their own without professional help involved.

@@ErykaSoleil I agree. However for those of us that don't have a hoarding disorder, go through your things once a year and as much as someone important gave it to you, unless it's a family heirloom, it's up for a garage sale, Goodwill, reselling on eBay, or regifting. Just my opinion.

One of the problems with consumerism: too much crap that nobody wants. Regift away. Or tell people you don't want anything, if they can't or don't bother to figure out what you might actually like. And stick with useful gifts or food that doesn't add to the pile of useless stuff.

It's fine to regift if that gift was bought in bulk. No thought went into it. It's not personal.
